You need to pay a designer to have a quality logo — that’s a lie. To prove our point, we tested, reviewed and ranked the best logo makers on the market in 2020.
In the modern-day of unlimited internet access and advanced AI, you can create your own logo with a couple of clicks. No need to try to find your inner creative genius when technology has you covered.
We’ll be looking at the best software for logos, including an overview and selection of the best free logo maker options.
So let’s get it on!
Since you’re here, you’ve probably been through the scenario where you’ve discussed with a designer how long it would take to create a business logo. And how much it would cost.
Of course, the good news is that you don’t necessarily need to hire a designer to have a good logo for your company. You can make it on your own and in no time.
But then you start a google search and see a ton of logo makers online. Now the question is: how to choose the best website to create a logo?
To help you out, we’ve established a list of factors you’d do well to consider. Following them and picking the best choice for you will be no problem.
Are you on a tight budget? Or are you wondering how to create a logo for free? In this case, you might want to turn your attention toward Canva, which offers a quite sufficient free version. Not to mention you can practically design everything with it. Canva can also give you extra value providing you purchase a package and the pricing is quite affordable.
Alternatively, from entirely free software, Shopify Hatchful offers splendid features and can be relied upon to create very good logos. Finally, there’s Wix Logo Maker — a tool that can be used for free, and their packages aren’t overpriced. In both cases, you can totally have fun with the user interface while creating your logo.
Time is our most valuable asset. So along with money, time is the most important factor you need to consider. That way, you can choose the best logo maker for your needs.
The perfect tool that could save you a lot of time can be Ucraft, which offers good basic options that allow you to create a pretty logo, and fast. The software is extremely easy to use, plus it’s free (or $7 for a vector file, which is totally worth it).
Another one would be Logaster — this option is ideal to save time and give you good ideas about how your logo can look. Finally, there’s LogoFactory Web, which even with its flaws is an extremely helpful tool for those looking to create a logo for free, fast and easy. It’s practically not possible to create a logo quicker.
The third important factor to evaluate before choosing the perfect fit for your logo needs is, of course, design. Saving your time and money won’t really mean that much if you end up with a logo that looks like something from a bad LSD trip.
If you’re serious about design, then you should focus your attention on specific platforms. One of them is PlaceIt, with its stunning visuals and many different design options — that nevertheless comes at a very affordable price.
Then, there’s Online Logo Maker, which has great designs and powerful features at a good price, not to mention it’s very easy to use it.
Finally, there’s GraphicSprings — a tool that can be quite handy when it comes to designing the perfect logo of your brand. It’s extremely easy to use, but you definitely have to invest money to get the maximum out of the software. It will be worth it though, as long as you have the money.
1. I created my own beverage brand for testing purposes. This way I was able to measure how the different tools allow me to achieve my goal to create an awesome logo for this specific industry.
I set out with the goal to create the perfect symbol of my brand and ultimately, find the best logo creator. I also tested multiple additional brand logos in different niches to see if the software is suitable for different kinds of ideas and logos.
2. I tested more than 25 online makers. Then shortened the list to 11, cutting out those that were subpar. Some of them didn’t offer enough options, others were ridiculously overpriced and just not worth it.
Some had very bad user reviews regarding payments and unfulfilled promises. You can still view the ones that didn’t make the list this time, but still had something to offer, in the ‘honorable mentions’ section.
3. I read dozens of online reviews from customers. I tried to comprehend in-depth what people liked, why they enjoyed using the particular software and what made them unhappy about it. I observed whether companies listened to what their clients complained about? Did they make any changes or correct any mistakes they might have made?
4. I put myself in the shoes of startups, freelancers, as well as small and big businesses. I established what software will get the job done for each of their use cases — and in the most cost-effective and quick way.
I also considered how much each software may offer for different situations. For example, it’s 99% certain that you’ll need social media resized images, regardless of whether you’re a corporation or are just starting your business.
5. I compared the value-for-money factor. Are you getting your money’s worth paying for a logo making tool? For the tools that are free, I evaluated whether they can do a good job — what can they offer, compared to the paid logo creation software plans?
6. I included some of the tools in the honorable mentions section. They weren’t good enough to make our actual list this time, but are worth tracking. Plus, the more options and information you as a reader get, the better.
Needs more options
No vector files
At the top of our list is Shopify Hatchful, which in addition to the logo itself, gives you the option to download various other formats of the newly-created image. The different formats are customized for specific social media accounts. These include your Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Pinterest profiles.
This is an absolutely satisfying branding package that saves you the trouble of resizing and fitting your logo for the different profiles afterward. While not a unique feature for this software, it’s still worth mentioning. Also, let’s not forget that it’s free.
On top of all that, you have hundreds of free templates, designed and customized with different industries in mind. It won’t be an overstatement to say that this software was designed with user experience in mind.
In fact, it will probably make you doubt whether you’ll ever need the services of a professional designer again.
The only thing that was truly disappointing was that you can’t have two icons in one logo for some reason. I, for one, had a genius idea for a pub logo that included two icons. Alas, I guess I won’t be opening my two-logo pub now. Either that or I’ll use another tool that can provide that option.
Hatchful is really straightforward and saves you a ton of time. It’s never been easier to create a logo for free — the final design can be just a few clicks away.
And the best part is — the tool is absolutely free. This way, it will save you both time and cash. So, easy, beautiful and free, all the essentials are covered. And given all the features and benefits we’ve just described, it’s no surprise that Shopify Hatchful takes the top spot in the best logo makers list.
Ease of Use
Trust me, it’s extremely easy to get started with Shopify Hatchful. The interface is very eye-pleasing and makes the process of creating a logo effortless and fun. Without even realizing it, you’ll already have tons of designs to choose from in front of you.
It was a little hard to find a way to contact the support. I had to Google it, spend a couple of minutes wondering where to find the info and eventually sent a message via a contact form.
Hatchful clarified that the address for contacting their support was email@example.com, although no such details were clearly provided on their website. Generally, that’s not a good sign.
Regardless, support was surprisingly quick. Their representative was knowledgeable and provided a lot of information to answer my questions. You can only contact them via email, though, so no chatting or phone calls for now.
Shopify Hatchful is absolutely free to use. There are no premium plans with extra features available at the moment. It’s safe to say that Shopify Hatchful is one of the best free online logo makers in 2020.
Rich customization options
Multiple design formats
Limited free plan
Canva is really the one tool to do it all. Apart from professional logo design, you can also make posters, flyers, infographics, brochures, wallpapers, book covers, menus, social media banners, letterheads, newsletters — you can practically design anything.
Canva amazes with its wide range of features, too. First of all, you can adjust your image with multiple filters, and effects like the background remover. You can also change the level of brightness, contrast, saturation, blur, tint, x-process, and vignette. You can play around with the transparency level and resize your image.
There’s also plenty to choose from in terms of fonts and you have the bonus option of uploading even more of your own. Ultimately, Canva can provide the best logo design online, but you’ll have to put in some muscle to create it.
The software is valuable for those who also want to create different branding materials beyond the logo. You can easily make a poster, Facebook cover, brochures, business cards, infographics — the list goes on.
Canva is an excellent way to save time and money for multiple different tools. It does such a good job that even professional designers can benefit from it. In fact, I bet a lot of designers out there use Canva.
Ease of Use
It may take you a bit of time to get to know all the options and features of Canva. This doesn’t mean that it’s confusing or hard to learn. Actually, it’s just the opposite.
Considering the wealth of features at your disposal, Canva has managed to create a surprisingly user-friendly interface.
Once you spend some time and learn to navigate around the interface, you’ll quickly realize just why Canva is one of the best online logo makers out there.
Canva provides 24-hour support from Monday to Friday and limited support on weekends. They offer both phone, and email support. And there’s also a large enough knowledge base in the Support section.
A support representative of Canva did eventually reply to my queries, after a couple of days’ delay. It’s not ideal, but it happens. While I thought the free version didn’t offer any support at all, it turns out it does, so kudos to Canva for that.
Apart from Canva’s free version, the vendor offers Pro and Enterprise plans. The Pro plan is labeled as the best value one, recommended for small teams and individuals.
Still, the Pro plan does have its limitations.
On the flip side, you have many more options in terms of access to elements, backgrounds, and photos. That said, there are still some features that need to be purchased separately.
The good news is that you can get a free trial for any of the premium plans and decide which will be most suitable for your needs.

Lacks advanced options
PlaceIt offers over 8 thousand unique logo templates. Yeah, let that number sink in for a minute. The possibilities are practically unlimited. You can do whatever you have in mind for your logo and a lot of things you haven’t even thought of.
The Mockups, Designs, Videos, and Gaming options meanwhile let you put your logo on anything. T-shirts, mugs, twitch banners, animated logos, pillows, books — you name it. Ultimately, you can use the tool as a youtube logo maker, among all other possible options.
It’s important to note that once you purchase a package, all the designs you make come with a watermark. This way, you can use them in any way you like, including selling them to customers.
Placeit prides itself on its vast quantity of templates you can put to good use. With this software, you don’t need to reinvent the wheel to get a high-quality design. The templates are battle-tested, and designed by professionals who obviously put their heart into creating unique designs with their own personality.
Having this large selection at your disposal, you can pick the template that best fits the vibe of your business. You can then further customize it with the app’s brilliant editor.
The end result is a logo that has both the professionalism of the designer behind it, plus your own individual interpretation. By investing just an hour of your time into this process, your logo can look professional, and yet still be unique.
Astonishing designs, really! I can’t stress enough how awesome the designs are. That’s the main goal either way. The flexibility of pricing is also a key takeaway point, as it’s quite unique for a software of this type.
So not only do PlaceIt offer great visuals, but they’re quite affordable too. The only way it could be better is if it were a free product. That said, once you see the end results, chances are you’ll see it as money well spent.
Ease of Use
Not only is this logo making tool easy to use, it’s also a lot of fun. The only problem could be that with so many beautiful designs, choosing just one can become a burden. But hey, look at you and your first world problems.
PlaceIt offers phone and email support, and chat, too. Thumbs up for them — they are one of the few companies in the niche that try to maintain all three. The support working hours are Monday to Friday between 8:30 AM and 6:30 PM CT.
Their representative was polite and knowledgeable in answering my questions. He even provided me with a link for a 25% discount for the first month for their unlimited package.
While I had good customer support experiences, there’s a lot of negative cases out there. People claim that the support of the company was very bad in resolving their issues, and some even believe that their email was subject to immense spam after subscribing to PlaceIt.
PlaceIt is really flexible in terms of pricing. It’s a custom logo maker, and one of the few I’ve encountered that offer a monthly subscription. That has you covered, regardless of whether you just need to use the service for a couple of months or want to pay on a monthly basis from a financial perspective.
The yearly subscription still has better value, though. It will save you a lot of money in the long run — when you break it down, it’s just $8.33 a month. You need to pay upfront for the year, naturally, but the price could easily be worth your while.
On top of that, you can pay for a one-time service, in case you decide you just need that single logo and nothing more. Paying for one month seems way more logical, though, but still — it’s a cool option to have.
And that logo will be provided to you in a high-resolution png file (4000x4000px). With that level of detail, it’s already okay to use it for commercial purposes.
It’s important to note that the subscriptions also grant you access to the other services of PlaceIt — Mockups, Designs, and Videos.
Automated AI logo design
Very easy to use
Sloppy editing options
Lackluster free version
Not optimized for mobile
Except for the logo creation, Logaster also provides the options to make an email signature, avatars for social media platforms, a favicon, business cards and more.
Bear in mind, you’ll need to pay, to gain the full advantage of the tool, since the free version of the product is a bit lackluster, mainly due to the editing options.
Logaster clients have created over 11 million logos with the tool and you can actually get to see them in the blog section of the site. That’s not only good advertising on their part, it’s also practical since you can use it to get inspired for your own brand symbol.
Using Logaster will save you a lot of time and energy. You don’t have a good idea? Not sure how you want your logo to look? Nothing to fear.
The AI-powered logo generator is capable of directly creating dozens and dozens of great designs in a matter of seconds. You can choose one of them and then additionally edit and customize it to get the logo you like.
You can, of course, create an entirely different logo of your own. Even then, though, those generated designs sure helped to get you inspired, didn’t they?
Ease of Use
It’s very easy to get started with Logaster and create your own logo, even if you’re a complete beginner. You simply type in the name of your brand and the software’s AI generates templates for you. Of course, you then have the option to edit the template you liked the most.
Still, the editing options are a bit run-of-the-mill, at least for the free version. It’s true you get to select a design category, including music, abstract, industrial, fashion, and so on, as well as color gammas, but ultimately there’s not that much to customize onwards.
When we turn our attention towards customer reviews, there’s a recurring complaint that the website loading speed is slow. That’s something I experienced myself, at times. Generally, though, the majority of user reviews are excellent.
Logaster’s support was very quick to reply — just two hours after I sent them an email. The average response time is 24 hours, though. For the moment, the company only offers support via email.
There is a free version of Logaster, as well as three paid plans — strangely named XS, S, and M. A bigger “L” plan also seems to be on the cards, but for the moment it’s labeled as ‘coming soon’. If you’re a business, you’ll probably need at least the S plan, though, with XS only providing one logo file.
The S plan offers the full logo package with 120 files available for download. Those include vector files (PDF, SVG), logo layouts, and background & color variations.
The M plan has all the features of the S, plus a logo pack focused on social media (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, etc.)
Countless customization options
Insufficient free version
Time for learning
The Wix Logo Maker will grant you access to all the basic features you need. With the advanced package, you receive high-quality png files, vector files, social media kit, and full commercial usage rights. Given the price, it’s one of the best inexpensive logo makers on the market right now.
And since Wix also offers a website builder, you can actually make a bundle and purchase both a website and a logo. This ensures you have the full foundation, on which to start your online presence — and at a very competitive price.
The software has got you covered, even if you don’t know how to make logos from scratch. And it’s really fast. You only need to tell the AI what your logo will be used for, and what type of design you want (Dynamic, Fun, Modern, Formal, etc.). Then let the algorithm present you with all kinds of different designs that can potentially fit your expectations.
You’ll be impressed with how engaging and immersive the whole experience can be.
Ease of Use
Using Wix’s logo maker is fun. While this is generally good, it may also be time-consuming. The AI generator provides seemingly endless possibilities, which can be a double-edged sword. It’s understandable how you might end up looking at multiple designs, wondering which one to select.
This is not a bad thing, of course, but the amount of time needed to create a logo will depend on how fast you can make a decision.
Unfortunately, again, I had to use Google to find an actual email address to contact support. Sure, the knowledge base in Wix’s Support Center is huge and helpful. But it’s annoying when you have to waste time just to find how to contact support. The address should be displayed in a visible place.
Anyway, support is only available through email. My representative was a case of ‘classic support,’ meaning she didn’t tell me anything I didn’t know regarding my questions. Just a couple of one-line answers, sort of boilerplate. So, contacting them didn’t really bring any real benefits. If I were a real client, I would be quite frustrated.
You can choose to download the free version of the logo you’ve created. That will only provide you with a jpeg file, though. With the basic version, you get 8 high-quality png files in different colors, including monochrome and grayscale. You also get full commercial usage rights.
Paying for the advanced plan gives you access to everything from the basic version, as well as 5 vector (SVG) files, and 40+ social media files. On top of that, you receive a favicon, an email signature format and more.
Affordable price for vector file
Limited customization options
No social media kits
No copyright protection
With the Ucraft logo creator, you can expect all the basic features, but nothing more than that. Don’t forget it’s a free tool, after all. So, you can select an icon, enter a text and add shapes. It’s awesome that you have more than 1 million free icons to choose from.
The text fonts aren’t as impressive in terms of variety, but you can always import a font from Google’s database, which is a cool feature.
To top it all, you get a free png file of your logo and can get a wonderful high-resolution vector file for just $7. Absolutely one of the best cheap logo makers you can find in 2020.
Great to save both time and money. As mentioned, part of the reason this tool has such good value is simply because it’s completely free to use. And it provides a lot of functionalities, all things considered. Combine that with its simplicity and clean design, and you get a very useful tool.
Ease of Use
Extremely easy to use — no unnecessary distractions here. In fact, it’s so easy that even a little kid can make a cool-looking logo. We’re not kidding, you can actually challenge your child to make a logo, while you’re making another one. Who knows, between the two of you, it might turn out you can learn a thing or two from today’s youth.
Ucraft provides a 24/7 online chat support, with the usual response time being under 10 minutes. Email and phone support are not available, though. Their support representative was clear and fast two answer my questions. She even proposed I make a feature request to the company, so essentially Ucraft is trying to stay connected with their client’s needs.
You can create a logo for free with Ucraft, but keep in mind you’ll only be able to download the PNG format freely. If you want to get the vector (SVG) file instead, you’ll need to spend $7 on it.
That’s a very good price to pay for a vector file, as a lot of the other software platforms demand a much higher fee for it.
Good for newbies
Bare-bones free version
This tool lets you create cool business card designs to match your logo. You can also get multiple file formats for social media profiles, clothing, digital media, print materials, and signage.
Otherwise, the company prides itself on having a large font selection, and countless logo templates. All of those are arguably pretty essential features you’re after the ultimate logo design.
All things aside, you can create really unique designs, which is not exactly the case with some of the other tools. Remember that pub logo idea I talked about earlier? There’s no problem for me to implement it on this software since there is no restriction on the number of icons you can use in your logo.
The main benefit of using this platform: saving money, while creating beautiful designs. The paid plan provides enough value for your money’s worth.
This software may not have as many features as other tools on the list. Still, the ones it does have are remarkably well done. They give you the perfect opportunity to create the best business logo design possible.
Ease of Use
The tool is really fast and easy to use. It has a very beautiful, yet intuitive interface as well. This makes creating an awesome business logo a piece of cake. But unlike making a cake, you’ll only need a couple of minutes and you’ll be done. Choosing from the stunning designs the tool has is a fun process. What’s not to like?
The company’s support did not grant me the honor of a response… so far. It’s been well over ten days, so I’ve given up on my hopes that I’ll ever hear from them. This is really unprofessional, especially if you really need adequate and quick help from the company.
Maybe they provide better support (or support, as a whole) to paying customers. Alas, I wasn’t able to get information about that from them.
Online Logo Maker does provide a free version of your logo for download. It is explicitly stated, however, that the free logo is only low-resolution and may not be used for commercial use. So, it’s really more of a sample than an actual logo you can use.
Purchasing the premium version gives you a lot of cool advantages. Vector files (SVG, ESP), transparent backgrounds, exclusive support, and high-resolution (2000 px) logo files.
Suitable for beginners
Good customization options
Low-value basic plan
This online logo maker provides all the additional features you might want to have. Vector files, social media bundle, graphic protection — you name it. All this comes at a price, though. And it’s quite a hefty one.
In order to take advantage of all these neat features, however, you’ll need to subscribe to the Pro or Platinum plans. This means you would need to pay between $99 and $199. Not ideal if you’re on a budget. If money is not an issue, though, GraphicSprings can satisfy all your needs.
Pricing aside, GraphicSprings promotes itself to provide design solutions for small businesses. This includes everything under the sun — magazine covers, gift certificates, book covers, brochures, invoices, flyers, calendars.
Their website also has a cool section called ‘learning’ where you can read about logo design tips, see examples and much more.
GraphicSprings is an excellent tool for those lacking experience in creating logos. It can definitely spare you a lot of headaches. You have to be sure it’s the right choice before you decide to use it, though.
Mainly, because the pricing for this one is quite high. This is especially true if you want to have access to more advanced features like vector files and social media images.
Ease of Use
Using this online logo maker is pretty straightforward. Enter the name of your brand, select the category of your business and then the software proposes a bunch of logos for you to choose from. Of course, you can then edit the logo and customize it.
GraphicSprings provides email support and the usual timeframe for response is 24 hours (Monday-Friday) and 72 hours on weekends.
When I contacted their support, I asked four questions and wrote around 200-300 words. The response came in time, but it was just two lines that quite frankly did not answer my questions.
So, I have to give a low rating based on my experience. Had I really been a potential customer and wanted to clarify things before making a purchase, I most probably wouldn’t have purchased anything at all after the inadequate response.
Of course, customer support representatives are rotating like the wheel of fortune. You may hit the jackpot, but you may land on… well, bad stuff. And there are some positive customer reviews regarding good support experience with GraphicSprings.
GraphicSpring’s basic plan includes only a high-resolution file in jpg. So you need to pay $20 just for one file? A lot of the software on the list offers that for free, some even offer a png file for free. On top of that, you can’t even edit your logo.
Overall, the value you get for your money appears quite low for this plan.
The standard plan features the jpg, png and pdf files. You also have the option for a custom size download, as well as editing your logo at any time.
Getting the pro plan secures you all the features from the standard, plus a lot more. Those include vector files, graphic protections, as well as social media and stationery designs (envelopes, letterheads).
Finally, with the platinum plan, on top of everything else, you get the PSD, EPS, and Ai files.
Both the pro and premium plans include graphic protection, which is supposed to remove the graphic from their database. Still, there are some nasty customer reviews from people who claim that’s not the case at all.
High-value premium plan
Simple customization options
No free version
LogoType Maker provides you with the option of using your logo to create a business card or an email signature. Also, you can get social media images and an embed code to insert your logo to your site.
Keep in mind that all these features aren’t free. You need to purchase the premium package to get them.
Then, if you want to edit your logo, the options are nothing to write home about. That said, there are a lot of fonts to choose from, as well as in-depth choices regarding the colors in your logo icon. Another cool feature is the opacity slider and inner shadow switcher.
Ultimately, it will take you some time to customize your logo and finish the overall design.
Taking the value-for-money factor under consideration, this tool is one of the best inexpensive logo makers. You can easily create and obtain the files you need.
That’s particularly true if you go for the premium plan which will grant you the whole social media kit, as well as vector files, business card designs and so on. And to be honest, it’s not that pricey, so it could turn out to be just what you’ve been looking for this whole time.
Ease of Use
Using the tool looks quite easy at first glance. You insert your brand name and the logo generator proposes multiple versions you can choose from. Customizing your logo afterward is a bit trickier, though.
If you really want to create your perfect logo, you’ll have to spend some time editing here and there. That can be a bit time-consuming, especially if you’re a beginner. So you would do well to arm yourself with some patience and a nice cup of coffee before starting the process.
LogoType Maker provides live chat, as well as email support. Their representative was quick and clear in answering my questions. Nothing much to say here except — good job, keep it up.
Keep in mind that you need to pay for your subscription upfront on an annual basis. There isn’t an option for monthly payments currently. And, unfortunately, there is no free version of the software at the moment.
The basic plan provides you with both jpg and png files. With the premium plan, you get all the features, including vector files, favicon, business card designs, embed code, social media kit.
Good customization options

DesignMantic is a website dedicated to design. They provide website design, logo design, custom design, and other services, including wedding card designs, monogram designs, social header designs and more.
The features of DesignMantic’s logo maker are also numerous. There are business card designs, letterheads, envelopes, Facebook and Twitter cover designs, T-shirt designs, flyer designs, creating an email signature and so on.
Additionally, the company offers website design templates. In the ‘search logo’ section of their website, you can browse through a cool gallery of already designed logos. And the designs are divided by category, which makes it even easier if you’re looking for inspiration.
We are talking about great logo designs here! DesignMantic provides them in spades. Sure, it comes at a price, but you can get your money’s worth, especially if you also want some of the other services they offer like website design.
Even if that’s not the case, and just need a logo – nothing more, the price of the basic plan is affordable enough.
Ease of Use
Creating your own logo with DesignMantic is simple and easy. The generator gives you a plethora of logo designs. And the options to select from are still plenty, ensuring that you can customize your logo to your heart’s content.
The simplicity of the interface is intact, mind you. You kind of get that cozy feeling as if you were sketching designs on an old notebook. Except your hand will not be colored by ink once you’re done.
DesignMantic offers both phone and email support. They provide that support from Monday to Friday between 9 AM and 5 PM EST. So, I sent them an email through the contact form on their website. Several hours later, I received an email asking me to provide my phone number. That way, they would be able to call me and answer my queries.
Let’s get this straight, I’m not the type of person who enjoys talking on the phone. I’m sure plenty of people feel the same way. Others have a yet different reason not to want to talk over the phone.
And, of course, since their phone number is listed on the site, I would have called them, if I wanted phone support.
Anyway, I had to reply to the email and explain that I would prefer to conduct the conversation by email. I then eventually received an email answer to my questions but lost a couple of precious hours in the meantime.
The answers themselves were one-liners, and there was an image file attached to the email with some kind of a spring promo bundle they’re offering right now. Along with the promise, I would get a discount for whatever package I wanted. Smells like a sales-driven approach to me and those are always annoying.
With the basic package, you get your logo in png, jpg, and pdf (vector file). Choosing the standard plan will provide you with all of that, plus the option to create business card designs. The pro plan, labeled as the best choice, offers the extra features of creating letterheads, envelopes, and Facebook cover designs.
Finally, the ultimate platinum plan gives you the possibility of making twitter cover designs, t-shirt designs, flyer designs, an email signature, and a free matching website design with a 1-year free hosting, included.
No registration or personal data required
Easy to use
The tool doesn’t really provide that much in terms of features. It’s all about being straight to the point — select a symbol for your logo, customize the company name, and slogan, edit the colors, and font, and that’s it.
The process could hardly get any easier than this. And the really cool part is that you don’t need to enter personal data to use the software. No registration, no subscription, no credit cards, no email. Now that’s just awesome.
There are currently more than 1.5 million logos made with LogoFactory Web and there’s actually a gallery where you can view some of the best ones created so far. Who knows, maybe your future logo could earn a spot there too.
With LogoFactory Web you won’t waste a second of your valuable time. It doesn’t offer the fancy functionalities of some of the other tools, but it will get the job done. We appreciate that the tool also does its job without asking for your private data. No need to register, subscribe or even give your email.
Ultimately, it’s among the best free online logo makers for beginners who don’t need an overly complicated design.
Ease of Use
This tool is as straightforward as it can get. The logo creator itself is on the main page, so no distractions — just a couple of clicks and tweaks and you have your logo done.
Unfortunately, the site is rather glitchy, so you have to be patient. While this situation is not ideal, it’s understandable, since the tool is completely free. I have to say, though, that the issues mainly occurred on stuff on the site unrelated to the logo maker itself.
There’s a contact form on the website, which unfortunately appears to be broken. First, for some reason, it automatically switches the language to Dutch and when you finally click Send, a pesky 404 error appears, so you can’t really know if your query was sent. By the lack of response, I assume it’s not.
I tried this procedure several times, but it always ended with the same outcome. So, the final verdict is that, in practice, you’re on your own when it comes to support.
In all honesty, though, there’s not much you can possibly enquire about. I reckon a better option for the company would be to make a detailed FAQ or Tutorial section, instead of having a broken contact form.
LogoFactory web offers a completely free logo design. The file you get to download is in png format. Nothing more, nothing less.
It’s not easy picking only 11 of all them online logo creator tools. That’s why we decided to include a few honorable mentions. These tools are not bad by any means, they just didn’t make the list. Next time we update the article, some of them might replace one of the logo makers currently in the list. If you want to be on top, you need to demonstrate constant perfection, after all.
Even though this software has a good logo generator, it kinda gets on the overburdening side for me. There are so many options it’s hard to choose. There’s a thin line between having enough options to customize and keeping your software easy to use. Looka still has some work to do in this regard.
Let’s take a look at the process, for example. You enter the name of your brand, then the business you have. After that, you have to select 5 logos you like from 48 displayed. What if I don’t like as many as 5 of the designs or any at all?
There’s no option to skip this step. After that, you get asked what colors you like with 9 options, along with descriptions of what the colors represent in the design, here you get the option to skip.
Next step — you get to choose 5 symbols from the options displayed in bubbles, like technology, music, nature, photography and so on, or enter them manually. Again, you can skip this step, too. Finally, the logo creator does its magic and presents you with the final results. Once you pick an option, you can start customizing.
Overall, Looka will get the job done for you — it’s a decent solution. Still, combined with the hefty pricing and the lack of a free version, Looka just couldn’t make the cut this time.
To be honest, Brandmark is a pretty cool tool. However, the pricing is too high on this one as well. There’s no free version, and the basic package, which only provides a png logo, is $25. On top of that, the enterprise package, offering high-end features like vector logos, business cards, social media kits, etc. is $175.
I mean, you can buy a package in two or three different logo makers with that budget. Even though I must clarify these prices are a one-time fee, rather than a monthly subscription.
Brandmark also offers a designer package worth $65. It gives you the social media kit, branded business card templates, brand guidelines, logo source files and more.
The software’s features are not something extraordinary either. You enter the name of your brand, then enter keywords related to your niche, like food, drinks, etc. if you have a restaurant. Then the logo generator creates an array of designs.
After choosing your favorite, the options to edit and customize it are quite limited. You have a good color scheme selection menu, but otherwise, you end up with the feeling there’s not that much you can do.
The company has other tools, too — an AI color wheel (automatic colors for your designs), logo rank (upload your logo and see how it rates), logo crunch (create a multi-resolution logo), and font generator (ideas for font pairings).
This tool offers a very good company logo generator, which can create unique designs based on preferences for icon or text-based logo, fonts, and so on. The software tries its best to get information from you about your preferences. Things like what the logo should be based on and what type of forms and shapes you want for the design.
The generated designs are good. However, while you do have some editing options afterward, you kind of get the feeling that somehow your logo is already there and there’s not that much left to fine-tune.
Of course, if you’re looking for a tool that does most of the work you, then TailorBrands is a good solution.
One of the main benefits of TailorBrands is that their packages are flexible — you can subscribe on a monthly or yearly basis and the prices are acceptable.
The company also displays logo ideas divided by category on the site. That’s a cool feature to get you inspired and give you ideas for your specific business niche.
The name says it all, doesn’t it? If not, let me tell you — the tool has very basic options. In the beginning, you select a shape from a total of five available.
Then you have some bare-bone customization options like choosing a color or setting the width of the basic shape. In the end, you can download your logo for free or pay $5 for the png file.
To sum it up, if you want a free or cheap logo for your… uh, hipster barbershop or something, you might benefit from this platform. Otherwise, there are many more professional tools out there to create your business logo design on.
I must say that I had some problems with the site since a white screen popped up several times while I was experimenting with the tool. To sum it up, Hipster Logo Generator is probably more of a waste of time, rather than an efficient tool to design a logo for your business.
First of all, it’s a bit of a headache to navigate through the logo maker — that’s surely not a good sign for such a tool. Otherwise, Fotor Logo Maker is a bit like Canva, having both free and premium options to choose from.
The similarities between the two software end here, though. Fotor is way pushier towards selling, as you have at least four different ‘upgrade now’ buttons on the page. The free options are quite limited, although you can still manage to use the free logo templates to create a good result.
It has to be said the tool provides some vivid and creative customization options, but if you really want to use the full capacity you would have to purchase their package.
The pricing would be $39.99 if you pay for a year and $8.99 per month should you opt for a monthly subscription.
Fotor also has other services on their site like the collage maker and photo editor, so it may be worth it. However, we’re sticking to the logo makers for this list and at the of the day, Fotor is not among the best websites to create a logo right now.
Do you want to have a couple of hundred different icons for cacti or koalas? If yes, LogoMakr has you covered. Now, joking aside, LogoMakr has a really great palette of icons, even if most of them are quite basic.
You can make both simple logo design and a more advanced one, as well, but you’ll need to invest some of your time to do so. The good news is the company has good educational tutorials to help you figure out some cool logo ideas.
Once you’re done, you have the option to download your free logo at low resolution or pay the $19 the company wants, which will give you access to high-resolution vector files, web-based png and jpg files, full license, prints, 1,000 zoom quality, and a social icon creator.
Bear in mind this is the price just for this one logo. Of course, the company provides discounts for the purchase of a plan with more logos — 4 logos for $12 each, 9 logos for $10 each, 20 logos for $7 each.
In case you’ve decided you’re not up for the task of creating your own logo, the vendor also offers services like logo redesign and custom logo design. All in all, LogoMakr may not be the top logo maker at the moment, but the company does provide good service.
Logo Garden is a good tool for simple logo design. It has limited options, but still may get the job done for you. Let me demonstrate what I mean by saying it’s limiting. Imagine you’re starting your very own small, beer brewery.
You get into the tool, set up everything else, but then realize they have no beer or keg icons to select. And somehow it won’t be the same if you have a teapot as a logo.
On the flip side, Logo Garden has some decent features such as creating business card designs and prints. The company further offers the possibility to make a professional logo design for you (I reckon the brewery logo could work then).
That said, Logo Garden couldn’t make the list this time. It’s just not that good. Hopefully, the company will continue developing and improve its features. They’ll need a big impact, as the logo maker scene is already overloaded with many worthy choices.
Constant Contact is a completely free logo design software that offers excellent features for a free product. The best part is that you can download a png and svg file for free. Free vector logos? That’s really not that common.
It’s quick and simple to create a logo, credit where due. Still, it’s rather basic and you have limits if you want to customize it. Of course, as they say, sometimes less is more, so Constant Contact might be the perfect tool for you. More so if you want to create a minimalistic design.
Another minus would be that the software seemingly only supports the Latin alphabet. This is something for the company to look into.
In the end, we can’t really be that critical on a free product… even though it’s not the best free logo design software available at the moment. We’ll be keeping our eye on this tool, maybe it will make the cut next time.
The tool provides 406 pages of designs, although they’re the same whatever name you enter for your business. You get the feeling it’s somewhat generic. The tool is quite limited, despite the vast number of pre-made designs. The editing options are scarce, despite a good collection of icons you can add.
Keep in mind that these are not free logo designs we’re talking about. LogoCrisp has three paid plans, with the deluxe, worth $34, seeming the best choice. For $19, the business plan provides high-resolution files and your logo in png and jpg format.
We gotta hand it to them, though, they offer a very tempting subscription option — for $0.99 a month you can download up to 20 deluxe logos.
In conclusion, the tool is easy to use and can be relied upon to deliver a quick logo with efficiency. Still, LogoCrisp have a long way ahead of them to become one of the top logo design companies. The final verdict is: not that impressive, has room to improve.
It’s a decent logo making tool, even if it’s not among the best rated logo makers. The LogoDrill creation process starts with you inputting your company name. Then, you get to select your industry and boy, does the software has a variety here. From cupcakes, through wrestling and watch shop, and game development, it seems like all industries are covered.
After your select your industry, you get to choose from the relevant icons. There may be one or more in disposal depending on the popularity of your niche. The AI logo generator then comes up with some pretty cool designs.
On the downside, the editing options afterward aren’t that remarkable. Now, LogoDrill does not have a free version of their product, but the pricing is fairly adequate.
The three packages cost $2, $5, and $9 respectively. With the lowest value package, you only get one logo file, while the $9-package, or enterprise, gives you access to multi high-resolution files, brand guidelines, full ownership, font pair, photo pack, and a 1-hour discussion with the professional designer of LogoDrill.
Squarespace is not best known for its logo making services. The company is rather known for its hosting and website creation services. While there is a reason for that, we could say that their logo maker is not that bad, at all.
First of all, it’s absolutely free, which is always good. Then, when we take a look at the actual process behind creating a logo, we see it’s very easy and straightforward.
Simply enter your company name, then find and select a proper icon to represent your brand from the list. Finally, adjust the font and customize your logo until you’re satisfied with the result. The options to do so are not unlimited but will suffice unless you want something fancier.
When you’re ready, click on the download button and you get your logo in three png formats — white, black, and color. All three files are high-resolution (2000×1616). This pretty much sums up the whole process. So, after all, you can try the Squarespace Logo Maker to see how it suits your needs — it’s free, but ultimately there are better tools for the purpose in existence.
So, we’re pretty much finished with our reviews of the best logo makers in 2020. We’ve established the best free logo maker options and how to choose the ultimate tool for your needs.
Of course, we will continue to monitor and test the software on the list, and the ones currently not in it.
Since you’ve reached this point, you’ve already learned how to create your own logo. Well done!
But we live in an ever so dynamic world and things can easily change in a matter of days, weeks and months. Heck, maybe soon you will be the one teaching people how to create a business logo of their own.
Truth is it’s not that simple to create a stunning logo design from the first try. Some of you will need more time and most probably — more knowledge. But as Salvador Dali says, we should never fear perfection, as we’ll never reach it.
That’s why we’ve committed ourselves to keep you updated on the topic. Feel free to always come back to the page and double-check for updates in our list of the best logo makers or refresh what you already know.
Here are the best logo design sites we’ve established after thorough research and testing:
There’s a couple of very good candidates for this title. Those include Shopify Hatchful, Canva, Ucraft, Wix Logo Maker and LogoFactory Web. If those names don’t ring a bell, scroll up and read the reviews for each of them. This way, you’ll figure out which one has the highest chance of working out for you.
There are multiple software options available that allow you to create a professional design for free. The best among them are Shopify Hatchful, Canva, and Ucraft. Online Logo Maker, LogoFactory Web, and Wix Logo Maker also offer an efficient free version.
There are several key factors you need to consider before you create a good-looking, professional logo design. You need to think about how you want to represent your brand so that people get the right impression when they see your logo. Carefully choose the colors and fonts, and don’t forget to keep it simple.
A vector graphic (ai, eps, svg file) is made up of points, lines, and curves. Rather than consisting of solid colored square pixels, vector files are based upon mathematical equations. A good logo should always have a vector format.
The best logos are instantly recognizable and easy to associate your product with. The saying that sometimes less is more is absolutely valid for logos. All you need to symbolize your brand is a minimalistic, yet effective design. Just look at the logos of top companies worldwide like Nike, Microsoft, and McDonald’s.
Also, to avoid logo fails, show your work to people before branding your product. There are enough logo disasters out there as it is.
