In 2013 Autumn Manning and Kenny Tomlin created YouEarnedIt. The company acquired HighGround in 2018 and merged the two companies to form Kazoo, Inc. This company has continued to push HR boundaries since then and is one of the leading people management solutions.
Features
Here are KazooHR’s features.
Surveys
This employee engagement software allows you to collect employee feedback daily in the form of custom questions, eNPS, and Pulse surveys.
Recognition and rewards
KazooHR’s recognition and rewards tool has the following key features;
Peer-to-peer recognition
This feature allows employees to celebrate and acknowledge each other. There’s no better way to bring staff together than to let them recognize each other’s wins. Needless to say, this immensely improves engagement. Moreover, employee engagement statistics show that highly engaged employees are 87% less likely to leave their place of work.
Activity feeds
This software mimics social platforms by displaying bonuses, recognitions, or outstanding performance. The activity feed shows the data to everyone, using the software in the company.
Behavior bonuses
This feature allows you to create bonuses to encourage your employees to participate in activities.
Gifts and rewards
With this feature, you can choose how to reward deserving employees with bonuses, cash cards, ecards, or donations.
Analytics and reporting
This solution has a powerful dashboard that shows data about each employee. This feature provides helpful insights to help you better understand what motivates or demotivates your staff.
Managers can also track unusual activities from employees to help identify problem areas. For instance, the system can flag down an employee that usually interacts with an extensive network of people who suddenly go quiet. This can be a red flag in terms of security, considering that insider threat statistics reveal that over the last two years, the number of insider incidents has increased by 47%.
Advanced features
The following are the software’s advanced features.
Raising hands
Your employees can raise hands to help tie in performance conversations. Here, employees can give their opinion on how they feel regarding the feedback that they received in an individual quarter.
Continuous performance management
Employees can use this software to set and track their goals. With this employee recognition software managers can check-in and review accomplishments, progress, or feedback. The result is a cohesive environment for managers and juniors to have meaningful discussions regarding long-term career objectives.
Automation
This software automatically keeps track of anniversaries. Employees can also trade their points with gifts after the admin sets an automatic point gift on the system.
Apps and integrations
KazooHR is a cloud-based telephony platform that has both Android and iOS apps. Kazoo is also available for Windows and MAC OS users.
You’ll be happy to know that you can integrate KazooHR with any of the following solutions for better functionality:
- Speakap
- Namely
- BambooHR
- Rippling
- Kronos
Ease of use
This software is user-friendly. Navigating through the solution is easy, and both employees and supervisors can see interactions in real-time. At a glance, you can see a staff member’s core values, most recognized skills, and their participation scores.
Customer support
You can reach KazooHR support either through phone support or email during regular working hours.
Pricing
Kazoo group’s pricing into three groups, namely Growth, Standard Enterprise. Each plan’s pricing depends on the number of employees and the specific features that you want. Here are the pricing options:
Growth (100- 250 employees)
- Performance – $9/month
- Recognition- $6/month
- Full platform – $12/month
Standard (250-1000 employees)
- Performance – $7/month
- Recognition – $4.50/month
- Full platform – $9.50/month
Enterprise (Over 1000 employees) – Custom pricing
*Note that all plans have annual billing.
Verdict
When looking at the advantages of this employee engagement software it’s easy to see how it engages your modern workplace to strengthen ties, improve culture, and increase employee retention. This software brings together powerful tools such as surveys, performance management, recognition, and rewards providing both employees and employers with the right tools for success.
Note that although the software is free to download, a company must first make payments for employees to start using it. There’s also no free version, and too many notifications can be distracting. However, you have the option to turn off the alerts.

David Hassell created 15Five in 2012, out of a deep desire to help people achieve career satisfaction. Hassell got the idea to develop the software from using 15/5 earlier on in his entrepreneurial journey.
15/5 is a system that requires employees to write 15-minute reports of their workweeks, and managers spend 5 minutes reviewing them.
Features
Here are 15Five’s features.
Weekly check-ins
Check-ins are essential, whether in personal or work life. Opening up conversations between staff and management helps you understand how your team is fairing.
With weekly check-ins, it’s much easier and quicker to establish underlying problems and deal with them instantly. Unlike lengthy reports and complicated spreadsheets, the feedback contains a handful of questions that relate to performance, needs, or concerns.
Request feedback
Believe it or not, letting employees take control of feedback requests can engage them more. Science supports this claim. Although manager-to-employee feedback is essential, it’s even more effective when staff asks for it as they’re more likely to act on it.
OKRs
Objective and Key Results (OKRs) can help you create a company, individual or departmental objectives. This employee engagement tracking software helps keep your goals in check without interfering with staff workflows. All an employee needs to do is take a couple of seconds to set their status to any of the following:
- On track
- Behind
- At-risk.
High fives
Like a physical high five, this virtual feature provides a fun way for peers or managers to recognize effort. This feature can help boost morale.
1:1s
After reviewing employee feedback, managers can note areas of concern and add responses. This helps in proper planning on the management side, regarding what to discuss during facetime.
Analytics and reporting
15Five produces custom reports to help you measure how your organization is utilizing the solution. This feature allows you to sort answers to different survey questions into one document.
Advanced features
This software has review reminders to help hold employees accountable for their weekly progress. The reports show reviews, hi-fives, update frequency, compliance, overall growth, and 1-on-1s.
Automation
This employee feedback software has automated weekly check-ins. The solution comes with pre-populated questions, which saves time since all an employee does is fill in answers for around 15 minutes.
Apps and integrations
This is a cloud-based platform with Android, iOS apps. That said, you can use 15Five on any device with Windows, macOS, or Linux.
For a more efficient outcome, you can integrate this software with apps like:
- Slack
- Google Calendar
- Jira
- SSO
- Namely
Ease of use
15Five is easy to use. This software’s interface is clutter-free, hence spotting whatever you need is hassle-free. The menu bar has about five items (company name,1-on-1s, high fives, and company logo), making it very easy to navigate.
Customer support
You can reach 15Five support through either of the following options during business hours:
- Chatbot
Pricing
15Five doesn’t have a free version. But the good news is that the solution has a 14-day trial period, which gives you enough time to experiment with its features. Here are 15Five’s paid packages:
- Basis – $7/person/month
- Plus – $14/user/month
- Performance – Custom pricing
Note that the company bills annually.
Verdict
15Five is an employee engagement software that has strategically designed features to guide you on continuous performance management. Use this tool to engage and retain your workforce, with OKRs, one-on-ones, and weekly reviews.
Also, there’s no 24/7 support, so in case there are any issues, you must wait for US business hours to get assistance.

- Second manager addition option
- Customizable
- Real-time feedback
Erick Tai, Jimmie Tyrrell, and Rajeev Behera founded Reflektive in 2014. The company is also formerly known as Pulse Software. The organization has over 100 employees, and its current CEO is Greg Brown.
Features
The following are Reflektive’s features.
Surveys
This employee engagement survey software uses templates from both Stanford University and Reflektive experts to gather data. The surveys help you get information regarding staff sentiments. With the data, you can compare industry benchmarks and your company’s engagement to make changes where necessary.
Reviews and check-ins
This feature allows 360 reviews to help drive performance. To encourage the right results, you can customize your questions to suit your work environment.
Recognition
Taking employees for granted can be detrimental to your company. Reflektive helps showcase your team members’ achievements through email or Slack to other departments. This feature will show your employees that you value and appreciate them and inspire others to perform even better the next time.
1:1s
There is an option for a conversation starter that helps managers and their juniors have meaningful conversations. You can encourage dialogue by basing your questions from any of the following starting points:
- Skills an employee has learned in the last few months
- A team member’s plan in the next few months or years
- Ways that a manager can help an employee to achieve opportunity for career growth
- Skills that a team member would like to improve
Feedback
Feedback is essential for a team’s growth and improvement, and this solution allows you to customize your questions. This tool gives staff the liberty to ask for feedback and track their progress. Staff can also ask for input upon project completion to see if they met expectations.
Analytics and reporting
Unbiased analytics and reports can be insightful sources of employee data for any company. This software aggregates data, tracks performance, and uncovers departmental discrepancies to analyze and make informed decisions.
Advanced features
When looking at employee engagement software benefits, you need a solution that has OKRS. Reflektive has this feature, and it allows both individuals and companies to align similar goals. This feature allows both parties to respond to issues that would hinder progress in time.
Automation
This software integrates into workflows directly. Therefore, team members can view their goals on different apps driving transparency while reducing goal tracking efforts.
Apps and integrations
Reflektive has iOS and Android apps. You can also use it on Windows and Mac OS since it’s web-based.
This solution allows you to seamlessly integrate it with various apps to save time, generate more feedback, and improve employee experience in general. Here are some apps that you can link with:
- Okta
- BambooHR
- Slack
- MS Teams
- Workday
Ease of use
The software integrates well with daily employee workflows. However, when going through the different Reflektive’s employee engagement software reviews, I noted that some users reported finding it cumbersome.
To get to different functionalities, a user has to perform too many clicks and can be confusing.
But it’s not all bad.
The majority of users say the solution does a brilliant job of helping them celebrate their colleagues. The system needs getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes easier. The company also offers in-person, live online, and webinar training.
Customer support
Reflektive customer support is available during US business hours, and here’s how you can reach them:
- Chatbot
- Submit ticket
Pricing
Reflektive’s pricing starts at $7500 per month, per user.
Verdict
Reflektive offers an easy way to track achievements, appraisal, reviews, performance, and surveys.
There’s no mass edit option, meaning that editing reviews can be time-consuming. However, the company does constant updates; hopefully, it will improve in this area.
This software is quite pricey. But it’s easy to justify the price – Reflektive combines coaching, recognition, reviews, and performance into one platform.

- Real-time scores

Christian Holm, Dan Rogers, Kasper Hulthin, and Phillip Chambers created Peakon in 2014. The software’s founders developed the software because they realized that people are the most critical assets in any company. Features
Here are Peakon’s features:
Surveys
This top employee engagement software helps you conduct regular surveys. The solution gathers data from all your employees, making everyone feel included.
The surveys also help you understand what’s essential to your employees. If you have a high turnover, this software can also help you learn the reasons behind mass exits.

Peakon collects staff demographic data – for instance, gender, location, or age. This information helps you understand individual experiences, which allows you to understand all the issues that everyone in your team might be facing.
Success tracking
All leaders in your organization can manage engagement initiatives with Peakon. Therefore, senior leaders can view the actions that managers are taking to get results.

Advanced features
Here are Peakons advanced features

When conducting employee engagement software comparison I was impressed by Peakon’s realtime alerts. This solution notifies you every time users make any updates. The alerts come in the form of emails or push notifications.

Peakon automates processes like feedback gathering, analysis, and delivery. Automating tasks allows the staff to concentrate on work as they wait for the data.

Customer support
Peakon assigns a dedicated representative to help resolve any arising issues. You reach their customer service department during regular working hours on:
- Chat
- Submitting ticket
Pricing
If you’re looking for free employee engagement survey software, Peakon might not be your best option. However, this solution gives a 30-day trial period, one of the longest that I’ve seen so far.
This software doesn’t display pricing on its website. I reached out to support, and the contact person informed me that the company does custom pricing for each of their three plans. The pricing depends on factors such as; length of contract and number of employees.
Verdict
Peakon is an excellent platform for collecting and analyzing employee feedback. The software offers instant notifications, which is a big plus. However, it is limited in terms of engagement options since it doesn’t have tools to boost morale, such as high fives, one-on-ones, or gifts and rewards.
Although Peakon is a great employee engagement software, it’s impossible to create custom pulse surveys. However, you can choose any engagement driver from the software’s 14 options.

- Value for money
Numan Sachwani, Amin Palizban, and Kevin Fales created 7Geese in 2010. The founders saw a gap in continuous and real-time performance and engagement in employment. Hence the software was born.
This solution helped eliminate yearly reviews, which were time-consuming, tedious, and not as productive. Over 300 organizations trust the solution for performance management.
Features
The following are 7Geese’s features.
OKR Goal setting
This software holds everyone in your organization accountable for organizational and individual success. When you take this route, employees become more engaged, which can skyrocket your business’s success.
Reviews
The best employee engagement software should have a review feature, which is one of the reasons why this software made it to our list. 7Geese helps you conduct reviews, assess, and communicate staff/departmental performances.
Value-based recognition
Nothing beats admiration, respect, and recognition when it comes to engagement.
What’s even better?
Making recognition public, as opposed to doing it behind closed doors.
This software encourages peer-to-peer recognition in real-time. With this solution, it’s not just about the big wins, but also the small efforts. 7Geese helps everyone feel proud of contributing to achieving your organization’s core values, which boosts morale and brings a sense of belonging.
1:1s
7Geese offers an opportunity for you to coach your team. Managers and staff both collaborate on the meeting agenda for prior preparation. You can structure your 1-on-1s around key areas like feedback, recognition, objectives, or past records.
Analytics and reporting
Quality employee engagement software tools have analytical qualities, and 7Geese is no exception. You can track progress with 7Geese’s data tables and graphs. You can also export data for external meetings or consultations.
Advanced features
The following are the software’s advanced features.
Immediate progress updates
Realtime data is essential in helping celebrate milestones, and this is where 7Geese comes in handy. The timely reports also help managers deal with hurdles before they snowball into serious success hindrances.
Reminders
The software sends reminders to make sure that everyone is one the same page when it comes to the review cycle. This feature ensures that the entire organization is in tune and engaged at all times.
Automation
7Geese handles all administrative tasks as you concentrate on other facets of your company.
Apps and integrations
This employee engagement program or software has both Android and iOS apps. You can also use it on Mac and Windows.
You can integrate this solution with plenty of software and apps such as:
- Slack
- Jira
- Salesforce
- Google sheets
- BambooHR
Ease of use
7Geese setup process is time-consuming. You have to book an appointment with an account executive after signing up.
Well, it could take hours before you hear back from them.
Nonetheless, the program is easy to use and doesn’t require you to be a technical expert. At a glance, you can quickly locate features like 1-on-1s, feedback requests, recognition given, or objectives progress.
Customer support
You can reach 7Geese during business hours through a couple of methods, namely:
- Live chat
- Phone
Pricing
7Geese has the following plans;
- Align – $10/user/month
- Perform – $14/user/month
- Grow- $19/user/month
All packages have a $3000/year minimum requirement.
Verdict
7Geese is a compact engagement software, with essential features like recognition, 1-on-1s, analytics, surveys, reviews, amongst many others.
The only glaring downside to this employee engagement software was that after signing up, I had to pass through an account executive. Sometimes, the staff is not available right away. That means that you have to wait for a time that’s convenient for them.
I finally caught up later with the account executive and she explained that I had to book an appointment for the company to determine if we were a good fit. Also, she explained that dealing with a dedicated staff meant that they could tailor the software to suit my requirements.

Verdict
This solution’s features do a decent job taking surveys, analyzing data, giving dynamic feedback, and assessments. The software is also easy to use.
Printing of reports with this software can be time-consuming as you can only print individual reports. However, it does help you make better analysis when you concentrate on piecemeal data rather than that of the entire organization.
Also, the system doesn’t all the data for previous surveys. But the software displays the progression of past results to give you a glimpse of prior reviews.
