This $459.99 edition from Noblechairs is extremely comfortable and well designed. If like us, you’re a fan of the professional over the gaudy and vibrant look, this is the chair for you.

It comes in all black and faux leather (with a premium $719 real leather version). You get a trusty lumbar pillow and head cushion for good measure. Aesthetically it is undeniably a racing chair, but we’d happily do office work in-between gaming sessions and not feel silly. 

Alternatively, if you want something a bit more distinctive, there are also special premium themed chairs like the bright blue Fallout Vault version or black and red Doom edition.

One downside is that the lumbar pillow does not strap in place and often slips, doing the opposite of what it’s supposed to. Nonetheless, we found the chair comfortable enough without using it at all, so it all depends on your personal preferences.

Overall, it’s very functional, with a metal backrest lever, button adjusted armrests for four directions, and you can position the back exactly where you want it. Our only complaint is that because of the adjustability and an oddly thin design the arms feel a bit flimsy.

Furthermore, the premium upgrades are only really there if you have the cash to splash. The regular version feels as close to leather as you’re going to get, and we didn’t experience any of the clamminess you get with cheaper products. For less than $150 MSRP you can skip the Yoke system and go for the simpler setup of throttle and stick, with Logitech’s G X52 ‘simulation controller’. However, it still comes packed with features including a multi-function display, rotary dials, numerous programmable buttons, without mentioning the throttle and joystick themselves.

The joystick uses spring force for realism and a precision centering mechanism, giving you full control.

The progressive throttle can have its tension adjusted with a dial on the side and features detents for afterburner. There are also two fire buttons since this style of setup is more akin to fighter jets than passenger planes. It also works quite well with helicopter simulator games.

The build quality is good and although it is plastic it doesn’t feel cheap. The only downside is the joystick could do with a bit more resistance, which has been implemented so well on the throttle. 

The X52 is PC only, with a USB 2.0 connection. Depending on your setup, the cable can actually be a little short so consider using a spare or buying a second.

TP-Link’s online web interface is particularly useful and allows you to easily prioritize certain activities, making it an ideal addition to a gaming setup for beginners. Gaming is obviously one of the prioritization settings, but you can also favor streaming, web surfing, ‘chatting’, or your own custom settings if you know what you’re doing. You’ll also get 4 Lan Ports, 1 Wan, two USB ports, and WPS.

With 6 antennas, speeds top out at 2.62Gbps on both 5GHz bands and 750Mbps on the 2.5GHz band, while ‘range boosting technology’ allows for good Wi-Fi strength throughout large properties. Simply put, if you’re a gamer and cannot afford higher-end routers, but still desire that performance, the TP-Link AC4000 MU-MIMO Tri-Band is one of those ideal gaming setup accessories.

While RGB lighting in the gaming community is a bit controversial. Nobody really needs flashing lights and it doesn’t improve gaming performance. As a set of speakers, the Logitech G560s offer great sound quality and the immersive lighting is done the right way in our opinion.

First off, the built-in DTS:X Virtual Surround Sound performs really well. And, although it’s not quite the same as having a large 5.1 or 7.1 authentic setup, it does surprisingly well at pinpointing where gunfire, shouting and other sounds are coming from directionally while gaming.

This is most effective during gunfire with flashing. There is even an immersive mode that changes color and mood depending on what’s on the screen. That’s how RGB gaming lighting should be done!

For $149 you can pick up this solid set of RGB lighting speakers for gaming that really perform well when you sync up with other Razer RGB compatible devices. The sound quality is not there for music lovers, but that’s not to say it’s bad either. Just make sure you’re using them at your desk gaming, not sat far back for movies, or listening to your favorite songs.

Gaming monitors can be particularly difficult to buy for, despite being PC gaming necessities. There’s a lot of mis-selling and slapping the term ‘gaming’ on a low spec screen with a high refresh rate and getting disappointed. Fortunately, ASUS has a long and positive reputation in the market and the ROG Swift PG279Q is perfect for gamers that don’t want to fork out for the largest screen or make the jump to 4K and HDR. You’ll then get 2560x1440p resolution, which in layman’s terms is better than HD but not yet 4K. What it does mean is those in-game edges are going to super smooth without even adding aliasing in the game settings, and because it’s a 27-incher, it’s going to be sharp as well.

A pro gaming setup needs a good monitor. If you’re on the curved train, then you may as well consider the Samsung 49-inch gaming monitor that delivers it to you ultra-wide at a 32:9 ratio. This fills your entire field of view and is about as close as you can get to VR before actually using VR.

It also goes all the way with the extra specs, including High Dynamic Range (HDR), for more detail in extreme light and extreme dark environments, and ‘Quantum Dot’ which boasts a ‘billion shades of accurate color’. While that might be pushing it, we played with it and there’s no denying that it looks fantastic.

You also get Radeon FreeSync 2 support for smooth gameplay and no screen-tearing at a good 144Hz refresh rate.

Going back to HDR, this is one of the few screens we’ve tested that has properly implemented it rather than meeting the minimum specs and slapping on the label. A lot of monitors are technically HDR but when you turn it on in-game it looks worse than before. Here, if the game has implemented it correctly, it’s going to look stunning.

To conclude, while it’s obviously an expensive $800+ gaming monitor, it’s perfect sitting centrally in your computer gaming setup. It has other regular advantages too – the number of tabs and windows you can have open while working is insane!

For pure performance, it’s one of the best. The custom actuation sends it over the edge if you’ve got a hardcore gaming PC and want to tune with your own speed and precision. One useful function is to downplay one key (for example, that you’re accidentally pressing during gaming), so you don’t lose your flow.

It’s certainly not what every PC gamer needs but the Elgato Stream Deck is a genuinely useful accessory for hardcore streamers that want to make their broadcasts easier with shortcuts. Something about the little gadget gives an average gamer’s desk a studio vibe, and it’s just super fun to use.

So, what exactly is it? In essence, it’s a physical deck of 15 programmable buttons with customizable LCD screens to add appropriate icons. It’s designed for video game streamers using services like Twitch, YouTube, and Mixer and wanting an easy way to shortcut streaming functions. Maybe you want to go live, jump over to chat, set a common filter, or make a common sound effect or jingle, save a clip, or open a browser to search for something. It can also be used for opening programs and apps.

While it’s not fundamentally just for streamers, that’s who it is marketed at. You can, in theory, program each button to shortcut almost anything, much like most keyboards do with the calculator, email, volume, browser buttons, etc. 

It’s quite a sturdy plastic design that you can lay flat or sit at an angle via the stand, and it will do so without slipping. It won’t take up too much space either, measuring 0.8 by 4.6 by 3.3 inches.

For those that like to decide what their buttons do, there’s a total of 11 programmable ones. You can even save 5 profiles that can be easily switched between if you prefer different setups for different games.

Taking a leaf out of Razer’s book, Logitech also allows for a few strips of RGB lighting, with a range of 16.8 million colors. This might be used to match your game’s team or sync with other Logitech G gear.

Overall, for the budget gamer, this computer gaming mouse is remarkably high-end in build and performance. 

One of the best PC mouses at less than $100 comes from Corsair M65 Elite RGB, which hovers around $75. It has a surprisingly comfortable grip, excellent performance, and is customizable to suit your gameplay style. And, if you’re into RGB lighting, it has that too!

Design-wise, it is made from a premium anodized aluminum frame, giving it a long life. Meanwhile, you get a soft but non-slip grip and the much-needed DPI sensitivity button. This can be tuned in increments of 1 all the way to 18,000 DPI. Overall, it feels nice and works intuitively, and if you like a lighter or heavier experience, there are three removable weights at the bottom. This allows you to game between 97g and 115g.

Programming the buttons and lighting is easy with the iCue software. For beginners, it will work great out of the box without needing to mess with anything.

Gamers must remain wired via USB, no Bluetooth, so expect no lag. This makes it compatible with both PC and Xbox, including the new One S and One X systems.

If you’re looking for a modern mouse that strikes a fair balance between price and performance, the Corsair M65 Elite RGB is one of the best gaming peripherals around. 

If you’re unsure what a keypad is for, it’s used by advanced MMO players who need extra programmable buttons without necessarily using a keyboard. One of the more unique computer accessories, it combines some mouse functionality at the same time, making the whole process more efficient. And, Razer along with its patented chroma lighting does it well, if you’re looking for cool gaming keyboards with niche purposes.

While it’s one of those gaming products most users won’t find much utility in, high-level MMO players will appreciate the intuitive button layout. The buttons themselves are easy to program. The only downside is these are membrane keys, not mechanical, which arguably doesn’t match the $100 price tag.

Nonetheless, what you do get is a comfortable hand rest, four rows of five keys, not counting the roll wheel. Then to the side is a thumb-based spacebar, eight-directional D-pad, and another button for good measure (pre-set as the Alt key).

Razer describes this all as an ‘ergonomic keypad’ which means it can essentially function as a full one, albeit in a niche and comfortable configuration. It also has some utility for graphics designers and editors that know their shortcuts.

For what it’s designed for, it does the job well. However,§ it’s a very niche product in the video game accessories market. At the moment, it’s easily the best MMO keyboard.

One of the more niche gadgets for PC users on our list, the K585 gaming keyboard by Redragon is reminiscent of old gameboards. It’s aimed at Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO) PC gaming setups – those who need something one-handed and fast but with all the keys still there. It’s comfortable and has a good number of features.

To start with it has a full keypad and 7 programmable macro keys with savable profiles, and a full-blown forearm rest to keep things comfortable during long gaming sessions. The whole thing is just 11 x 9 x 2 inches – not even half a regular keyboard. This allows you to have all of your game’s functions at your fingertips without the bulk of a traditional keyboard. 

While the device itself is wired, it has a USB passthrough port allowing you to add a wireless adapter to pair with other devices like mice and headsets. Or, obviously, you can just plug them in via USB as well.

The keys themselves are mechanical, which feel great and also prevent accidental presses because you need to hear the click for it to register. They’re also somewhat dustproof and you get some great RGB lighting for some added flair. This backlights the keys and can be set to 5 different modes. 

Ultimately, the Redragon K585 is just one of those cool PC accessories. It’s the kind of thing you put on a gamer Christmas list. It is actually pretty functional when they fire up WOW.

At just $42.99 it cannot be beaten. The only real downside is that it’s not that great for people with small hands.

Wolverine Ultimate is an RGB offering by Razer in the game controller category. If you’re more of a console gamer or like to be hands-on while playing PC games, this is a fun and functional choice. Not only can you swap in and out the thumbsticks and D-pads for aesthetic, comfort, and practical reasons, but it also makes the $146 investment last longer – a broken part doesn’t mean an entirely new controller purchase. 

As far as gaming accessories go it’s got the right idea. It has the cool RGB lighting and customization, but it’s also practical. That’s because it comes with 4 added buttons that can be reprogrammed and that lighting is only a small strip, so as not to get distracted while gaming.

Truth be told, it’s one of the most comfortable combined Xbox/PC controllers we’ve tried, mostly thanks to the shape and soft grip material. But also, because you can put in sticks and modules that suit your hands and style of play. It’s also fun to just mix it up to prevent repetitive strain injury. 

At around $160 it’s a bit pricey for a ‘wired’ control pad, but as long as you don’t want to be far away from your monitor, it’s not a dealbreaker. Wired controllers have better responsiveness and never cut out because of the signal.

Overall, it’s the most comfortable gaming controller on our list.
