“Do you need PS Plus to Play Warzone 2.0?” is a question most gamers want answered since they are eager to play the sequel to 2020’s award-winning battle royale.
We are happy to tell you that you do not since all Warzone titles have been conceived as free-to-play titles supported by a paid Battle Pass containing lots of goodies.
Keep on reading since we tell you just how free WZ 2.0 is below!
In general, to join your PlayStation friends in an online gaming adventure, you would most likely require a PS Plus subscription. For instance, you can rob banks, join a biker gang, or simply explore Los Santos in GTA Online only if you subscribe to PS Plus.
However, while that remains true for the standard Modern Warfare II multiplayer component, Warzone is a free online experience without a PS Plus requirement for any gamer on any modern platform, including PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
But how is Warzone 2.0 sustainable, then? You might ask.
Well, Warzone 2.0 implements an optional Battle Pass, just like its predecessor. So, while you can freely enjoy everything the game has to offer, you need the Battle Pass to get extra digital goodies, such as skins, weapons, and operators.
However, you still need a PlayStation account (or an Xbox one) and an internet connection. Then you can just log into your favorite console platform, download the game, and enjoy this online shooting mayhem with all your friends.

While a PS Plus subscription is not required to play Warzone 2.0, purchasing one is not a waste since you have a chance to win free MWII and WZ 2.0 packs.
However, these PS Plus Exclusive Packs change regularly, so you have to be on the lookout for the rare CoD content that you can get and use for free.
With a PS Plus subscription, you can also enjoy the regular MWII multiplayer content, provided you have already purchased the full game. In any case, there’s plenty to see in both the single-player campaign and its multiplayer component.
Other than that, you get plenty of other benefits even with the lowest ‘Essential’ tier of PS plus, including but not limited to various monthly games, exclusive discounts, cloud storage, help with your games, and much more.

Did you know that PlayStation was the most popular console in 2020, holding a massive 57.5% market share? |
So, do you need PS Plus to Play Warzone 2.0? Thankfully not, since the developers have made it free to play, just like its 2020 predecessor. Now that you know that, you should probably get ready to jump into Warzone’s new Al Mazrah map, experience the game’s unique and innovative Battle Pass, and just have heaps of fun with your squad!
