If the time has come to say goodbye to some memberships, you might need to know how to cancel subscriptions on Amazon.

Whether you want to cut down on expenses or can't justify some services' costs any longer, you've come to the right place!

Below, we’ll walk you through the steps of the termination process.

How To Cancel Subscriptions on Amazon?

Besides physical products, the platform offers streaming services, such as Amazon Music and Video, magazines, apps, books, and other subscriptions.

You might feel it's becoming too much as they stack up in cost, and the fees recently went up.

So, once you’ve decided which ones you don’t need anymore, follow these steps on Amazon to cancel subscriptions:

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Go to “Accounts & Lists” and click on the arrow to reveal a drop-down menu.
  3. Select “Memberships & Subscriptions” to review all of your active subscriptions.
  4. Click “Manage Subscription” on the right, next to the service in question.
  5. Use the toggle next to the “Auto-Renew option to turn off payments and unsubscribe.

If that doesn’t work, you can use the link under Advance Controls. It’ll redirect you to the main subscription page, where you can complete the cancellation.

You can also use the Amazon app to cancel subscriptions.

Simply tap the three lines on the bottom-right, go to “Your Account,” and select “Memberships and Subscriptions.” From there, you can follow the steps outlined above.

How To Cancel Amazon Prime?

The process is similar to unsubscribing from any other service on the platform.

On Desktop

If you want to complete the process from your computer, follow these steps:

  1. Sign into your Amazon account.
  2. Click “Accounts & Lists.”
  3. Choose “Prime Membership” from the drop-down menu.
  4. Press “Update, cancel and more” under the “Membership” heading on the right side of the page.
  5. Choose “End Membership” from the bottom of the drop-down menu.
  6. Click “Cancel My Benefits” on the next page.
  7. Select “Continue To Cancel” when Amazon asks you to reconsider.
  8. Click “Cancel Membership” once more to confirm your decision.

Once your Prime subscription is discontinued, you’ll lose all exclusive benefits.

But, if you haven’t used them, you’re eligible for a refund of the current billing cycle. Alternatively, you can benefit from the services until the end of the period.

On the App

Here’s how to cancel your Prime membership from the app on your iOS or Android device.

  1. Open the app and log into your account.
  2. Tap your profile icon at the bottom of your screen.
  3. Select “Your Account.”
  4. Scroll down the list of settings until you find “Manage Prime Membership.”
  5. Click on the drop-down arrow of “Manage Membership.”
  6. At the bottom, tap “Manage Membership” and then “Update, cancel and more.”
  7. Select “End Membership.”
  8. Scroll past the listed benefits and click on “Cancel My Benefit.”
  9. Click “Continue to Cancel” to confirm your choice.

That’s all you need to do to terminate your subscription. Just make sure you do so before the start of the next billing cycle.

Wrap Up

While Amazon’s services are high-quality and come with a variety of benefits, they might not be the thing for you.

However, you can easily get out, regardless of the reason why, and now you know how to cancel subscriptions on Amazon.

Just remember to do that before your current billing cycle ends, and enjoy the perks meanwhile.
