How to Find Contacts on TikTok?

To find and add contacts, have the latest TikTok app version (29.1.3 as of this writing). Below are three ways to do it:

1. Connect Phone Contacts

When you connect your phone contacts to TikTok, the app suggests new people who have done the same.

Here’s how to sync your phone contacts:

  1. Open the TikTok app. Tap your profile icon at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Tap the three lines in the top right corner > Settings and Privacy.
  3. Go to Privacy > Sync contacts and 3rd party app friends.
  4. Turn on Sync contacts and give TikTok access to your contacts.
  5. Tap Add Friends on your profile dashboard.
  6. Select Contacts to see TikTok accounts from your saved phone contacts.

Bottom Line

TikTok is a great platform for finding like-minded people.

You can reconnect with real-life friends by syncing your phone contacts and Facebook. If you want to follow a specific contact, use the search bar.

Some ways may work better than others. If you're having trouble finding what you're searching for, don't feel limited to one method.

Can I sync my Instagram contacts with TikTok?

No, you can't. However, you can add your Instagram profile to your TikTok account, so your followers can see it.

What if I only want certain people to follow me on TikTok?

Switch to a Private account to control who can see your videos. If someone you want to follow has a Private account, there are ways to view their videos.

Why aren't my contacts syncing on TikTok?

Make sure TikTok has permission to access your contacts. Go to Settings > TikTok > Permissions > Allow Contacts.
