If you visited Apple’s online store on April 20th, 2021, you might have noticed it was offline. Well, that wasn’t a system glitch. Apple was busy updating the site with its latest products.

Apple showcased its newest products to over 360K people on YouTube. Note that Apple hasn’t yet revealed the number of people who tuned in on the official website.

During the 2021 event, the company presented its latest innovations: iPad Pro, Apple TV remote, AirTag tracker, iMac, Apple TV 4K Box, iPhone, Apple Card, and even podcast subscriptions.

Before the event took off, Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, tweeted, “It’s a beautiful spring morning for an #AppleEvent! See you soon.”

He then started the event by strolling around Apple’s picturesque Park, in Cupertino California. He gave a speech about Apple’s commitment to the carbon-neutral initiative, sharing that the company plans to eliminate 1M tonnes of carbon each year.

Then came the presentations regarding the different products. Here they are:

iPad Pros with Apple’s M1 Chip

The high-end, sleek iPad Pro 12.9 will have a mini LED screen with significantly improved brightness and contrast level adjustments. Note that the 11 might still have the old LCD screen.

Instead of having the A-Series chips like its predecessors, the newer versions will feature Apple A14X. The hardware is similar to the M1 chips commonly found in new iMacs. You’ll even be able to connect to higher resolution monitors as the iPad pros will come with an improved USB-C connector.

The new features will let you take high-quality pictures with the front-facing 12-megapixel camera. Its ultrawide lens will automatically capture moving objects as they get closer to the shot.

AppleTV 4K box

The AppleTV redesign will get an A12 bionic chip, similar to the XS, Max, XR, and iPhone XS. It will also have a new processor.

If you like high-quality pictures, you’ll be happy to know that the 4K box will transmit high-definition HDR video. You’ll even be able to use your iPhone to tune its resolution.

Apple TV remote

The 4K aluminum remote will have a Siri button and a click pad at the top, instead of the old touchpad. Additionally, it will have improved navigational buttons.

Ah! The much-awaited AirTags for tracking lost items like keys or backpacks. They will feature IP67 water resistance and a replaceable battery that will last 12 months.

Are you wondering how it will locate lost things with precision?

It’ll use the “Find My” technology with a UI chip. The accessories will include a leather loop, leather keyring, and polyethylene loop.

The new iMacs will have M1 processors with a slimmer aluminum design borrowed from the iPads. They will come in a gorgeous assortment of color options, including yellow, blue, purple, silver, green, red, orange, and purple.

The camera will record 1080p pictures on its 24-inch inbuilt display, and the keyboard will have emojis and a fingerprint sensor.

iPhone 12 and 12 mini

The iPhone 12 and 12 mini will be available in a beautiful shade of purple. Don’t worry if you’re a fan of the old colors because Apple will still ship them.

The new leather sleeves and casing will come in Deep Violet, Amethyst, Cantaloupe, Pistachio, and Capri Blue.

In-app podcasts

If you’ve been dying for ad-free podcast listening, you’ll be happy to know that Apple is launching an in-app service just for you.

It will give companies like Spotify a run for their money and will be available in 170 countries.

Kids’ Apple card

Children over 13 will now be able to share a credit line with their parents so they can start building their credit scores early.

Most products will be available for orders by late May, but you can make pre-orders as early as April 30th, 2021.
