Taiwanese tech giant ASUS has unveiled its new ROG Phone 5S lineup, powered by Qualcomm’s latest mobile platform. The update comes after the company launched the ROG Phone 5 series just a few months ago.
ASUS lifted the veil on its new ROG Phone 5S lineup this week, announcing that they would feature the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ 5G mobile platform. The Taiwanese tech company promises that its new models — ROG Phone 5S and ROG Phone 5S Pro — will bring users’ “mobile gaming experience into the next dimension”. To that end, the new offerings will feature:
The Pro version further includes the unique ROG Vision rear matrix color display to enhance users’ overall gaming experience, which is set to give it an edge over rival gaming phones.
Chinese tech site Gizmochina noted in its coverage of the news that the upgraded phones are already on sale in Taiwan, with shipping slated for August 24.
The revamp follows the launch of the ROG Phone 5 in March 2021 when the ASUS co-CEO, S.Y. Hsu, dubbed the series “the ultimate gaming smartphone for the best mobile gaming experience”. At the time, the company also announced a lineup of headsets in an effort to secure a greater foothold in the gaming accessories market.
