Many sites and services were briefly unavailable on Tuesday, but the company says it has implemented a fix.

Cloudflare Down

Cloudflare experienced issues that led to massive disruptions on the internet. A massive outage hit many services and websites that use the CDN on Tuesday morning, Eastern Time. Major services went down, including:

  • Discord
  • Crunchyroll
  • Medium
  • Buffer
  • DoorDash

Cloudflare is a United States-based company that provides content delivery and DDoS mitigation services. As one of the most popular CDN providers around, millions of active websites rely on Cloudflare for security and performance. One of the company’s major selling points is that it reduces downtime for customers.

Internet users began to notice that several websites were down early on Tuesday, displaying “500 Errors”. Group chatting platform Discord informed its users via Twitter that its services were temporarily down.

At 2:56 am ET, the company tweeted that it had identified the problem and was working on it.

Less than an hour later, it added that “a fix has been implemented and we are monitoring the results”. Shortly after, Cloudflare confirmed that it has resolved the problem.
