Both streaming services will see their prices rise amid Disney’s pricing plan shakeup.

Cheaper, Ad-Supported Deals are Coming

On Wednesday, the mother company announced that the Disney Plus price will rise to $10.99/month from the previous $7.99/month, starting December 8th in the US. The move comes as the company is preparing to introduce a $7.99/month ad-supported tier.

In a similar fashion, Disney is raising the price of its Hulu subscription to $14.99/month, up from the previous $12.99/month. The add-supported tier will also move up to $7.99 from $6.99. This will go into effect on October 10th.

The shakeup will also affect bundled plans. The ad-free Disney Plus with ad-supported Hulu plan will now increase to $14.99/month from the previous $13.99/month. A new bundle including Disney Plus and Hulu, both with ads, will be available for $9.99/month.

Users will be able to pick up a Disney Plus, Hulu, and ad-supported ESPN bundle for $19.99/month.

Disney has also adjusted prices for its Hulu live TV bundle deals. The package with ad-supported Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN Plus will now cost $69.99/month. To get ad-free Disney Plus in it, users will have to pay $74.99/month. A deal without ads on both Disney Plus and Hulu will be available at $82.99/month.

The pricing plan shakeup comes soon after Disney Plus reported adding eight million new subscribers around the same time Netflix lost subscribers for the first time in a decade.

Netflix is also planning to introduce an ad-supported plan in 2022.
