HBO Max to Remove 36 Titles from Streaming

Content to Be Taken Off

The move comes under the new Warner Bros. management, which is looking to combine HBO Max and Discovery+ streaming platforms. The company has not yet revealed the exact date and time for the next set of removals.

“As we work toward bringing our content catalogs together under one platform, we will be making changes to the content offering available on both HBO Max and Discovery+,” said HBO Max in a statement.

Earlier in August, the streaming service announced that it is removing six film titles from streaming and canceling DC’s Batgirl and the animated Scoob! Holiday Haunt movie.

It is believed that shelving more content will help reduce the company’s residual payments.

Warner Bros also recently laid off nearly 14% of its staff, which amounts to about 70 people.

Many entertainment companies are currently rethinking their approach. Netflix recently cut 300 employees in an attempt to adjust to its slower revenue growth.

  • The Not-Too-Late Show with Elmo
  • The Runaway Bunny
  • Theodosia
  • Tig n’ Seek
  • Yabba Dabba Dinosaurs

HBO Originals:
