EA Teaming Up With Marvel

The popular Marvel superhero will appear in a new single-player, third-person, action-adventure game that Electronic Arts’ Motive Studio is currently working on.

Bill Rosemann from Marvel Games said the company will deliver “a love letter to a legendary hero, in the form of the ultimate Iron Man video game.”

Iron Man’s most recent stand-alone appearance in a video game was in 2020’s Iron Man VR, which arrived on PlayStation VR. Before that, the superhero only appeared in ensemble games alongside other Avengers, as in 2020’s Marvel’s Avengers.

Olivier Proulx, who acted as the senior producer for the well-received Guardians of the Galaxy, will lead the game’s development. Proulx moved to Motive in March.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to make a video game based on one of the most iconic superheroes in entertainment today,” Proulx said on Tuesday.

Motive Studio’s most recent game was the space combat sim Star Wars: Squadrons which arrived in 2020. The developer is also working on a Dead Space remake scheduled for release in 2023.

Before the new Iron Man game comes out, numerous other superhero titles are about to drop. Gotham Knights and Marvel’s Midnight Suns, both of which snake among the most anticipated games of 2022, will arrive soon. Rocksteady delayed its Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League from its 2022 launch window to the start of 2023.
