Nerf Gaming Enters Virtual Reality
In 2008, EA Salt Lake developed Nerf-N-Strike for Wii. The video game centers around the Nerf blasters line. It features the Nerf Switch Shot EX-3. Players use it to either play the video game or as a regular Nerf blaster.
2009 saw the release of Nerf-N-Strike Elite for Nintendo Wii. It also featured N-Strike Switch Shot EX-3 and a new decoder lense, the Red Reveal, that users can attach to the Switch Shot. It uncovers hidden information on games.
More than a decade later, Nerf fans will finally be able to enjoy a new game in virtual reality.
What to Expect in 2022
Players will be wielding both new and old Nerf designs in an arena. Fans will then cheer from the sides during the fast-paced team matches.
Kathrine Rawson, Secret Location’s content Vice President said in a statement that the championship marks a crucial milestone. It’s the first joint venture with Hasbro, its parent company. She went on to say that her team was excited to introduce childhood Nerf battles to the VR world.

Deyan has been fascinated by technology his whole life. From the first Tetris game all the way to Falcon Heavy. Working for TechJury is like a dream come true, combining both his passions – writing and technology. In his free time (which is pretty scarce, thanks to his three kids), Deyan enjoys traveling and exploring new places. Always with a few chargers and a couple of gadgets in the backpack. He makes mean dizzying Island Paradise cocktails too.
