REvil Websites Have Gone Offline
Updated · Feb 21, 2022
The websites of the Russian hacker gang behind the Kesaya attack have been unreachable since July 13th, 2021.
A payment website and a blog, run by the Russian hacker gang REvil, suddenly disappeared this Tuesday. Consequently, this comes right after a series of cyberattacks on US businesses.
Although the reason is unknown, many speculate that authorities might have something to do with it.
Right now, the relationship between Russia and the US is growing tenser, because of cybercrime.
The US Expects Russia To Act
President Joe Biden revealed that during a phone call on Friday, he insisted that president Vladimir Putin is to take action against the growing threat that is cybercrime. The head of the United States also claimed that he is ready to do whatever necessary to stop the Russian cyberattacks.
This sparked speculations that authorities from either the US or Russia might be the reason why REvil’s websites suddenly became unreachable. Officials, however, refused to comment on that.
Experts claim that it is not unusual for hacker groups to suddenly go off the grid.
