The project will see over one hundred thousand plots of land on offer, with 36,000+ of those available immediately.
Shiba Inu has announced its plans to enter the virtual environment, the metaverse. The team behind the digital token shared details of the project, dubbed SHIB: The Metaverse in a blog post.
The metaverse is a network of immersive, interactive 3D virtual environments. Considered the next reiteration of the internet, it combines various technologies. Examples include the blockchain, cryptocurrency, virtual and augmented reality, and artificial intelligence.
The Shib metaverse project was first announced in January last year. Industry speculations linked it to the Shiba Inu Game, an NFT game announced later in November. However, it will be a separate project entirely.
“Shib: The Metaverse is the culmination of our history as a community, virtually displayed, in a layer of beautiful visuals that showcase our innovation and unity with a place to truly call home,” the developers said in the blog.
Shiba Inu’s metaverse will feature real estate provided in a virtual, interactive environment. It will provide a space for the #ShibArmy to “grow, share, and benefit together”.
There will be a total of 100,595 plots of land available. They fall into four categories or tiers:
Prices for the plots range from 0.2 ETH (or Silver Fox to 1 ETH for the more upscale Diamond Teeth).
All Shiba Inu tokens, $SHIB, $LEASH, $BONE, will play roles in the metaverse project. However, Ethereum will be used for land pricing to prevent any negative impacts on native tokens from dumping.
