What Is DesignMantic?

DesignMantic offers a slew of free, do-it-yourself (DIY) graphic design tools and website hosting capability to boot. It helps you create the necessary visuals to build your brand identity and get your business off the ground.

You don’t need to be an entrepreneur to benefit from DesignMantic, though. For example, if you’re planning your wedding, you’ll be able to use it to style your monogram and invitation from scratch.

Primarily, DesignMantic is web-based. In other words, you need a desktop or mobile browser to design logos, business cards, and the like on the company’s site. But there’s a DesignMantic app for Android, iOS, and iPadOS.

Oddly, Hummingbird International, LLC, an e-waste disposal company, sells DesignMantic’s mobile apps on Google Play and the App Store. So, don’t be confused when that’s the name of the developer you find when you download any of them.

Should you do it yourself with DesignMantic? Is DesignMantic.com legit?

Let’s get this review started to see if it’s worth your time.

DesignMantic Features

DesignMantic is one of the top logo makers on the market. But it’s not a one-trick pony. Here’s what to expect from it:

Logo Maker

This is DesignMantic’s main tool or design studio. It gives you access to thousands of stylish logos for different industries. With its filters, you can incorporate your brand name into graphical elements that suit your field.

After picking a logo, you can customize it in different ways using the editor. For example, DesignMantic recognizes different color preferences, so you can tweak the look with ease.

Furthermore, to polish the DesignMantic logo design you want to create, you can add supplementary visual elements. Basic shapes, cliparts, lines, and symbols are some of the extra graphics you can infuse into the design.

Moreover, you can introduce text fields for embedding a word or a tagline and adjust the font. In fact, you can replace the logo itself mid-revision.

If you use any digital asset from DesignMantic for your business, you won’t be able to trademark your creation. When you purchase it, you’re actually buying the right to use the logo, which is the company’s copyrighted asset.

In theory, your design may match or closely resemble another company’s. In practice, the chances of it happening are slim, though. Nevertheless, keep this possibility in mind.

Business Card Maker

This business card maker gives you access to more than 100 templates and pushes the boundaries of design customization. For example, it lets you add objects, edit and move text fields, and change the font and its properties. You can leave the back blank or design it similar or differently too.

Furthermore, this tool doesn’t require you to have a saved DesignMantic free logo or a purchased one to continue. But if you use one, this business card maker will draw inspiration from its aesthetics and tie all elements together.

No matter your situation, you can produce an unlimited number of duplicates at no extra cost. This option is useful for generating digital business cards of the same design for your employees or colleagues.

To manage the profiles of your staff or co-workers, DesignMantic provides an address book. The tool automatically updates the list whenever you create a new business card design duplicate. The address book makes it extremely convenient to review, edit or delete profiles.

Letterhead Maker

This design studio can produce US- and UK-style letterheads. Using it, you can choose from over 70 layouts with or without a DesignMantic.com logo.

Like other DesignMantic’s other DIY tools, this letterhead maker supports various customization capabilities.

Email Signature Maker

Using this tool, your emails will finally have some personality.

This email signature maker has 69 templates, which can go with or without a logo. And as usual, you can tailor all elements of your design to your brand.

Flyer Maker

This design studio spares you from the pain of learning and using multiple apps to produce striking marketing collateral.

With DesignMantic’s flyer maker, you can select from 18 front-view, back-view, and front-and-back-view layouts.

Likewise, you have the option to include artwork, shapes, additional text fields, and images from external sources.

If you wish to change layouts or backgrounds along the way, you’ll also be able to do so on the fly.

Envelope Maker

If you use direct mail, you won’t have to send out your communications in plain envelopes anymore with this tool.

Thanks to the dozens of US and standard envelope templates, your mail will look more professional. Its functionality is a carbon copy of the DesignMantic logo maker, so it’s super intuitive.

Social Header Maker

With this multifaceted tool, you can generate stunning cover photos for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.

Unlike the design studios mentioned so far, this one has more customization options. Using its flip, opacity, stroke, and shadow settings, you can have more control over the elements of your design.

T-Shirt Design Maker

DesignMantic can help you create uniforms or promotional shirts that bear the DesignMantic logo you customized. If you don’t want your brand to appear on your shirts, you can choose from 31 artworks.

This t-shirt design maker doesn’t operate differently from the rest of DesignMantic’s design studios. So, if you’ve tried the others first, you should be able to get a handle on this one immediately.

Wedding Monogram Maker

Contrary to its sister tools, the DesignMantic monogram maker enables you to adjust the position of, enlarge, and rotate objects. It’s important to note that you can’t add more objects. You can only delete the ones included in your selected template.

This tool, however, has no undo and redo buttons. But you can execute such functions using keyboard shortcuts if you don’t want to reset everything.

When you’re done with your monogram design, you can conveniently proceed to creating your wedding card by clicking Add to Wishlist. You can also download it for free.

Apparently, DesignMantic doesn’t charge for wedding monogram designs. When you reach checkout, the company will ask you to give its team a shoutout on social media instead.

Wedding Card Maker

A simplified version of the DesignMantic monogram generator, this tool comes with 13 templates

If you created a customized monogram beforehand, you can generate a matching wedding invitation design. But, you can design 7"x5" or 5"x7" cards without one.

Like DesignMantic wedding monogram designs, wedding cards cost $0, but come with some strings attached.

File Types

By and large, DesignMantic supports PDF, JPEG, and PNG. The first one is a vector file, while the last two are high-resolution ones.

Generally, the output of most finished designs is in PDF. In addition, you have to pay extra to get duplicates in the other two formats.

Occasionally, JPEG and PNG are the output formats by default.

If you don’t know the difference between the three, here’s a brief explanation:

  • PDF (Portable Document Format) is good for viewing on different devices, is hard to edit, and has customizable security settings.
  • JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) is perfect for printing, web design, and MS Office use.
  • PNG (Portable Network Graphics) is great for sharing on the internet and comes with a transparent background. It isn’t ideal for high-quality printing, though.

Printing Services

If you live in the United States or Canada, DesignMantic can meet your printing needs. The company can print the following:

  • Business cards
  • Letterheads
  • Envelopes
  • Flyers
  • Shirts

In general, DesignMantic accepts bulk printing orders only. But it’s possible to request for only one printed shirt at no extra cost.

When it comes to business cards, you can choose between the Standard and Premium packages.

If you need business cards for high-volume events, go with the former. If you need something for everyday use, however, choose the latter since it promises excellent card printing quality.

In terms of shirt printing, you can order products for men, women, and children. Depending on the intended wearers, DesignMantic has shirts for practically all sizes, from S to XXXXXL.

Custom Design Service

If you don’t want to do it yourself, you can entrust your designs to the DesignMantic team. It’s an excellent option if you want your brand identity to be absolutely unique.

DesignMantic knows that no one package is right for everyone. So, you have four to choose from. The two bottom-tier packages are suitable for independent contractors. The top ones, on the other hand, are designed with startups and small businesses in mind.

Website Building

The DesignMantic app can also help you build your site from the ground up and host it. The company’s web builder lends itself to customization, having DIY capabilities like drag-and-drop widgets.

And the best part is that you can get started for free. Its Starter package is good enough to create a limited number of SEO-friendly pages you can launch right away. If you need to do more like setting up an online store, however, you can upgrade to the premium subscription anytime.

Website Template Editor

With the web builder, you can choose from 165 industry-specific themes. After choosing the one that makes sense for your business, you can get your hands on customizable templates.

If you’ve never used any content management system before, this template editor may overwhelm you.

Thankfully, like the DesignMantic free logo maker, it is easy to get used to

Domain Names

Domain registration isn’t part of DesignMantic’s web building and hosting packages.

If you don’t have a domain name yet, you can register a new one directly with the company. DesignMantic offers five top-level domains:

  • .com
  • .net
  • .org
  • .info
  • .biz

If you do have an existing one, you can transfer it to its web builder. Or, you can simply point it at your site and manage it separately.

Personalized Mailbox

Like domain registration, the personalized mailbox is a separate subscription from the web building and hosting package.

Although optional, this service can make your brand look more professional since you can marry it with your domain.

White Labeling

With this service, you can offer any of the company’s tools, from the DesignMantic logo maker to the web builder. This way, you can bring more value to your B2B customers.

DesignMantic promises seamless design studio integration with minimal setup cost and wholesale pricing.

Ease of Use and Interface

For the most part, DesignMantic’s tools look okay. But I wish their aesthetics were so much better.

Although they’re supposed to be developed by one team, their interfaces aren’t identical. Some are more intuitive and forgiving than others.

Nevertheless, they’re all friendly to non-technical users as intended and as advertised. If you don’t have slightest graphic design experience, DesignMantic’s DIY digital asset creators won’t intimidate you. They feature familiar icons, so you should find them easy to navigate.

DesignMantic brags about its A-B-C process, which is a three-step procedure covering asset selection to checkout.

This claim isn’t a lie. You can really finish and download your design in less than five minutes, provided that you can minimize editing.

Admittedly, some of these DIY tools were clunky. Actually, I never had the chance to try its social header makers. As of this writing, none of them were working.

At times, the pricing can be confusing too. For instance, the company didn’t offer me its bundles unless I tried to purchase a DesignMantic logo only. It would have made more sense to be given the option when my cart had more variety.

Lastly, I wasn’t able to get my free monogram and wedding card designs. Nothing happened when I clicked the download button. Even worse, they were gone from my library of saved creations afterward.

DesignMantic Customer Support

DesignMantic extends live chat, email, and phone support. Its help desk isn’t available around the clock, though. Nobody’s going to assist you during US holidays either.

Supposedly, its chat support agents are online from 9AM to 8PM EST, Mondays through Saturdays. However, none of them were reachable most of the time even if it was still the middle of their shift.

In one instance, my timing was spot on. I was able to speak with one of DesignMantic’s representatives and assigned an account manager to me. This way, I could directly email someone there.

Also, this rep offered to schedule a phone call to further discuss my concerns.

Another lowlight of the company’s customer service was its support ticketing system. Frankly, it doesn’t work.

Although DesignMantic’s system permitted me to submit a ticket, I couldn’t check its status. It was asking me for the ticket number to view it, but I never received this information.

Fortunately, the company’s email support was a saving grace.

A senior customer support executive acknowledged my message in less than 24 hours, asking my account manager to contact me. However, this person never reached out to me.

So, is the designmantic.com help desk legit?

Yes, it is. But it’s unreliable.

Moreover, the company has an abundance of self-help resources. If you’re curious about something, its FAQ, blog, how-to articles, and video tutorials are at your disposal.

If you’re active on social media, you can also find DesignMantic on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.

Who Is DesignMantic Best for?

DesignMantic is for anyone with no technical expertise or experience who wants to personally customize and publish quality graphics.

DesignMantic’s design studios are suitable for self-employed professionals who need to market themselves. Startups and small businesses can benefit from the company’s DIY solutions too.

But if you prefer to use legitimate graphic designers to create fresh digital assets, DesignMantic can help solidify your brand identity.

Plus, the company can license its design studios to you. This way, you can offer its DIY graphic design tools directly to your B2B clients.

DesignMantic Pricing

Let me put the record straight:

Every DesignMantic logo design you create is free until you want to download it. In other words, DesignMantic lets you edit its templates, but not downloadable copies of them.

And this policy applies to anything you design with the company’s tools.

Many DesignMantic reviews have accused that company of false advertising. But its site doesn’t say that your designs are free to download.

Now that it’s out of the way, here are the prices of DesignMantic’s designs if you buy them individually:

  • Logo: $37
  • Business Card: $37
  • Letterhead: $29
  • Envelope: $29
  • Email Signature: $29
  • Flyer: $29
  • T-Shirt: $29

To get JPEG and PNG output files, you need to pay an extra $9. To purchase the same theme of all designs in one fell swoop, it will set you back $99.

DesignMantic’s rates for printing vary by product. The prices and minimum orders are as follows:

Business Card Printing

  • Standard
    • $38.99/250 pieces
    • $46.99/500 pieces
  • Premium
    • $51.99/250 pieces
    • $59.99/500 pieces

Letterhead Printing

  • $75.99/100 pieces
  • $137.99/250 pieces
  • $212.99/500 pieces
  • $270.99/1,000 pieces

Envelope Printing

  • $64.99/100 pieces
  • $96.99/200 pieces
  • $110.99/250 pieces
  • $125.99/300 pieces
  • $140.99/400 pieces
  • $155.99/500 pieces

Flyer Printing

  • $19.99/25 pieces
  • $34.99/50 pieces
  • $59.99/100 pieces
  • $114.99/250 pieces
  • $144.99/500 pieces

Listing the company’s complete pricing for all shirt designs is outside the scope of this DesignMantic review.

I featured just the rates for men’s short-sleeves t-shirts by size. But the company tends to charge slightly more for shirt printing service for women and less for kids.

Men's T-Shirt Short Sleeves Printing

  • S, M, L
    • $0/1 piece
    • $12.50/2 pieces
    • $50/5 pieces
    • $112.50/10 pieces
    • $237.50/20 pieces
    • $300/25 pieces
    • $612.50/50 pieces
  • XL, XXL, XXXL
    • $0/1 piece
    • $14.50/2 pieces
    • $58/5 pieces
    • $130.50/10 pieces
    • $275.50/20 pieces
    • $348/25 pieces
    • $710.50/50 pieces

You don’t have to pick one size per transaction. Ordering additional sizes costs more, though.

DesignMantic Review - Verdict

We’ve ranked DesignMantic among the best, but it’s less spectacular compared to the industry’s elite.

I loved the intuitiveness of the company’s wide range of DIY graphic design solutions, including its free web building package. Thanks to its flexible prices, its lack of a money-back guarantee is forgivable.

I must confess that the poor usability of some of DesignMantic’s tools were disappointing. But what would really get anyone is live support’s unreliability. I couldn’t understand why its representatives were unavailable when they’re supposed to be active.

Most of my grievances do not echo the bad DesignMantic reviews posted on Google Play. However, the inadequate support is just asking for negative comments.

Nevertheless, I would encourage you to give it a go. Just set your expectations accordingly.
