What Is Desygner?

This graphic design software aims to make design accessible to anyone without the need of spending a small fortune. As it's a cloud-based service, you gain easy access wherever and whenever connected.

So what makes Desygner stand out?

For one, it supports pretty much any format you’ll ever need. Be it A4, A5, or any custom size, you are in control. Complimenting this flexibility, Desygner allows users to create book covers, infographics, posters, logos, and even social media banners.

Professionals find Desygner capable for commercial use, so you have full rights to any logos you create. Logo design management is online in your browser - so no download is necessary. After completing your work, you can save it in PDF, JPG, or PNG format. Or, you can order printed copies.

And perhaps more important?

It is meant not only for the pros but also for beginners. As such, newcomers will find its intuitive logo creation features worth a shot. No professional graphic design experience is necessary.

Features

The Desygner app possesses a featureful toolbox to assist in your designs. Included are hundreds of vector images, icons, and stock footage. Now let’s look at some other features you are likely to utilize.

Templates

Are you looking for a bit of inspiration for your designs?

Desygner has numerous pre-made templates at your disposal. From posters to book covers - there are thousands of options to suit your needs. After selection, take it to the Desygner editor and put your own twist on it.

Using a template is not mandatory, and you can always start from scratch if preferable.

Stock Image Library

Desygner has a vast library of assets available for use. These range from high-quality stock images to digital graphics and vector art.

Sounds great, right?

Well, there’s a catch.

Depending on your plan, some images and elements may be unavailable. In fact, a substantial portion of Desygner tools is locked behind premium subscriptions. You will still have some options with the free version, but the number of elements pales in comparison. Take note, for users of Desygner for free, you can filter out the paid assets.

Collaboration

When bringing different talents together, collaboration makes everything easier.

Desygner was developed with this in mind, allowing users to share designs.

Many users praise this capability in their  Desygner reviews. With a premium subscription, you can invite up to five team collaborators. This gives everyone access to its paid features and elements.

And here comes the good part - design sharing is simple. If someone shares a project with others, everyone can edit the design as they see fit.

And in case you are wondering: yes, this is also part of the free trial!

Logo Creator

As a graphic design software, having a dedicated Desygner logo maker seems like a no-brainer.

You receive numerous templates that you can modify and build upon. Using the basic shapes or elements library, you can make them your own. You can even customize all the digital vector art in the library with colors.

Otherwise, the logo creator is quite limited in functionality.

What do I mean?

First off, the selection of shapes is minimal. But the worst aspect is the inability to modify them in any way. You cannot change the thickness of a donut figure, for instance. Or skew the shapes in any meaningful manner.

Secondly, applying new shapes to your design can be relatively unresponsive. Considering all this, the Desygner logo maker is far from optimal.

Animation

Recently added to its roster of features, Desygner brings your posters to life by adding animations.

The Animations panel opens the door to several special effects. You can apply them to individual elements or the entire design. The results are great, although more options are preferable.

On the plus side, these Desygner effect tools are available to all users - free or paid.

Designer for Hire

Stumped on how to continue with your design?

We’ve all had such moments. Or maybe you’re simply looking for the best possible results. That’s where Hire a Desygner comes in.

In a nutshell, the website lets you request a quote for professional services. By filling in your contact details, you can access design specialist support.

What if you’re under a tight deadline?

No worries, you can specify your job completion target date. It’s all taken care of for you!

Download and Print Orders

Happy with your design? One of the marquee Desygner features is the ability to save or print your creations.

If you would like to transfer digital copies, there are several options. Desygner supports JPG, PNG, and PDF formats. And if your project is animated, you can also copy it in GIF and MP4 format.

But there’s more.

If you’re serious about your project, you can order a printed copy of your design. You can count on a quality print with various paper grades that won’t bust your budget. And for those with deep pockets, select between silk and uncoated papers to give your work that added touch.

Import PDF

Another mentionable feature is the Desygner PDF editor. It allows you to import PDF files and edit its various elements.

That’s right - all you need to do is upload the file you want. Then, Desygner will take a few moments to scan the document and its text. When finished, you can customize the page like any other template.

Ease of Use

As you’ve probably gathered from this Desygner review, beginners are its targeted users. Pretty much anyone with a free account can start creating book covers, posters, or whatever else.

Let’s break it down.

First of all, finding a suitable template is easy. Upon logging in, you receive a wide selection of pre-made designs. Upon selecting a template, you can take it to the Desygner editor and begin customizing it to your liking.

Putting together your designs is very straightforward using the editor.. It should feel familiar if  having ever used PowerPoint. And if you haven’t, no worries, it’s easy enough for most to pick up quickly. A definite plus if you don’t feel confident using more serious tools like Adobe Photoshop.

There are sacrifices, though.

The primary issue is that it is too generalized. Desygner software is just not as versatile as other graphic design programs.

Furthermore, you can get lost in its large selection of stock images and elements - doubly so when the simplistic interface fits only a few options on the screen at once. This can make navigating through fonts or images a slog.

Then there’s the speed.

Frankly, Desygner is just not very quick. Images and elements take time to load, even more so for templates. Sure, that time is only for a few seconds at most, but this alone can make the program feel sluggish.

The bottom line is:

Desygner is an app that accommodates those with no experience in graphic design. But this naturally leads to certain tradeoffs. Once you become familiar with other software, these tradeoffs become very apparent. As such, it’s up to you to decide.

Desygner Pricing

The service offers several pricing tiers, each having various levels of access to features.

But first things first, Desygner has a free version that anyone can access after registering an account. This limited version still has access to most essential features. For instance, templates, stock images, and art assets are available but restricted. Still, the app has a large enough portfolio of material to work with.

But let’s say you require some of its premium features.

You can opt for the free trial to give such a test run, which provides access to the Pro+ version for two weeks. So in all fairness, Desygner is pretty generous when it comes to offering free options.

Before the trial period ends, you must choose a Desygner pricing plan to continue using premium features. Each plan is available in monthly and annual installments.

Pro+

$4.95/month

This popular premium version includes all templates and assets, along with 125 million Shutterstock photos. You can share your plan with up to five other members. This plan is $9.95/month if billed monthly.

Business

$9.95/month

For running a large company. This plan allows for collaboration with up to 100 guest accounts. You’ll even get more Shutterstock images at your disposal, as well as the ability to create customized templates. This plan is $19.95/month if billed monthly.

Regardless of which set of premium Desygner features you choose, you are eligible for a refund. Any purchase has a money-back guarantee for the first fourteen days. After that period ends, the transaction is non-refundable.

Desygner vs. Canva

Here is a comparison that often gets brought up in other Desygner reviews. How does it stack up against Canva, another popular graphic design app

Let’s take a look.

At first glance, they are pretty similar. Both have mobile applications and similar user interface styles and features. But beneath the surface, things get a bit more complex.

The first thing that stands out is the difference in speed. Canva is much snappier than Desygner. Furthermore, Canva supports integration with many third-party applications like Google Maps, Instagram, or Giphy, which Desygner doesn’t.

The inclusion of charts is another thing that sets the two apart. Making infographics is much easier on Canva, thanks to its graphing capabilities.

Regarding features and usability, having to pick between Desygner vs. Canva, the latter is the clear winner.

But that doesn’t mean Desygner doesn’t have its own advantages.

Canva’s steep price reflects its extra features. Desygner is a more affordable option, which comes in handy if you’re on a budget.

In fact, Desygner’s annual plan is half the price of Canva’s.

So if you are looking for inexpensive graphics design software, Desygner may be the one for you.

Verdict

Desygner software is accessible and lightweight. It is cloud-based, so there is no need to download or install anything on your computer.

So, who is it for?

It aims to support users with no prior experience in graphic design - something it does well due to its intuitive interface and creative ease.

The main reason you’d want to use Desygner, apart from the accessibility, is its vast library of images and high-quality animations. After you complete your work, either download the designs or order a print to your liking.

There are clear advantages to this service. For one, you can use it for your business as Desygner is for commercial use.

And if wanting things to look even more professional, the Hire a Desygner feature lets you contact an expert to do the heavy lifting for you.

There are certain drawbacks, though. For instance, its simplicity comes at the cost of versatility. As such, unless you have zero experience, most people would be better off using more professional tools.

Its cloud-based nature also makes it rather clunky.

But worry not.

If there is one thing that makes Desygner appealing - is its low price tag! Especially when compared to similar services like Canva, which can cost twice as much.

You’re probably asking - is there a Desygner free version? Yes, a free plan exists, as well as a fourteen-day free trial of the Pro+ version. But if you’re looking for more functionality out of the service, a premium plan is always an option.

If you have no experience with graphic design software, then Desygner is perfect. But if you know your way around the likes of Adobe Photoshop, there is little incentive to stick with such.

By now, this Desygner review has hopefully painted a detailed enough picture to determine whether its service is right for you.
