What Is Docebo?

Since its launch in 2005, Docebo has made a real impact on the e-learning industry. The online learning technology serves 2,000+ customers worldwide, including Uber, Walmart, and Bose.

Docebo is one of the fastest-growing and most innovative learning management systems (LMS) on today’s market. With the platform, companies can create top-notch e-learning materials and build a social learning culture. It uses artificial intelligence (AI) technology to improve students’ experience and deliver personalized content.

The Docebo training platform is perfect for instructor-led training (ILT) and web-based training. The many automation tools and integrations help deliver courses in various formats. Especially with the dedicated Docebo mobile app, students can stay on top of classes wherever they go.

The platform is fully scalable, makes it easy to track students’ progress, and delivers the tools needed to create classes seamlessly.

Now, let’s dive into the benefits the solution offers.

Docebo Features

We looked at the following features while preparing this Docebo review:

Course Creation & Management

The primary aim of the Docebo e-learning platform is to assist you in creating and managing online courses. From preparing your materials to generating in-depth reports, it has got you covered.

You can create two types of classes:

  • E-learning Courses: These classes are delivered entirely online without involving instructors. Your students don’t have to attend simultaneously, and it doesn’t require a physical location.
  • ILT (Instructor-Led Training) Courses: The lessons cover a Docebo webinar and classroom lectures. One or more instructors manage it online, onsite, or using a webinar tool.

You can manage every lesson from the Docebo Course Management menu. The layout is customizable, and you can set it to show only the relevant programs.

Using the filters option, you can narrow down your search. Additionally, you can use the free text search area to separate columns and look for other courses.

Course Catalogs

The catalog feature helps you create customized courses and learning plans. Your students can either enroll freely (if approved by an administrator) or buy them using the Docebo ecommerce feature.

Docebo has Internal and Public/External Catalogs. Internal courses are only available for users after they log in to ensure they have a paid subscription. External courses are open to the public.

You can manually decide whether a student can enroll in your class. Alternatively, you can untick this feature and let anybody join. It’s also possible to group catalogs in a way that only certain people have access to it.

Furthermore, you can make an internal catalog public by indicating that you want non-authenticated users to view it. Once you do, it will appear on the login page and anyone who lands there will get to see it.

Reports

With Docebo reports, you can view and analyze how well your courses are doing. It also provides information on your students and learning objects. The program allows you to make custom reports which you can send automatically via email.

You can edit the name and description of the report, but not the type. While it’s possible to download them or share them via a link with your students, only those who log in can access the information inside. The Docebo e-learning platform allows you to select the people who can view the reports, including Super-admins, Power Users, or Selected Power Users.

Asides from custom records, you can make a Summary Report. With it, you can track all the information regarding a particular course. For each summary report, you’ll be able to view:

  • The e-signature label beneath the course title
  • The percentage of users who finished the lesson within the first 30 days after registration
  • The total number of enrolled students
  • The number of days since the class launched
  • The number of training materials
  • The percentage number of users who have started the course, are yet to begin, in-progress, or have completed the class.
  • A chart of your activities for at least 12 months
  • The list of those registered for the class with individual course statistics

Content Marketplace

Apart from creating your own courses, there are many learning materials provided by Docebo, LinkedIn Learning, OpenSesame, and Skills on the Docebo Marketplace. Note that external lesson providers require a subscription to get on the platform.

Lastly, you cannot sell materials from the marketplace. Similarly, you cannot include the courses’ content in lessons you plan to resell with the Docebo Shopify integration.

White Label

By enabling this feature, you can cover some of Docebo’s custom branding elements on your platform. This way, your students will only see your brand logo. Also, you can use the Docebo White Label app to customize the header and footer messages on your page.

Gamification

If you want to make sure your students are engaged and enjoy learning, the Docebo gamification app can help you achieve this. You can create gamification badges that will be awarded to the best performing student, strong contributors, top learners, or any custom title.

You can apply it to your lessons after activating the app on the course creation platform.

Docebo Support

Docebo’s customer support is entirely online and available 24/7. The best place to start is using the live chat, where the Docebo bot helps where possible. However, if you need expert help, you can send an email, open a ticket, or get assistance from the help desk.

Most queries get a response within eight hours. If the inquiry comes via a ticket and involves diagnosing an issue, it usually takes 8-24 hours.

The platform seems to put a lot of effort into its customer support, as very few Docebo reviews contain complaints. Most users applaud the effectiveness of the system, attesting to the quick response times.

Docebo Integrations

Docebo LMS integrates with more than 35 platforms, covering ecommerce, content automation, CRM, and more. Some of the best ones include:

  • LinkedIn Learning: With the Docebo LinkedIn integration, users can sign into the LMS platform with their LinkedIn login details. This way, they can access the courses provided by LinkedIn Learning.
  • Zoom: When you use the Docebo Zoom integration, you can give your students access to live training sessions. You must have an active Zoom account, and the license must include the REST API support.
  • Salesforce: The Docebo Salesforce integration allows you to inject AI-powered social learning into your CRM. To enjoy the connection, install Salesforce into Docebo, synchronize, and monitor the synchronization.
  • Zendesk: With the Docebo Zendesk integration, you can access a support ticketing system for dealing with students’ questions and problems. When you enable this connection, a pop-up appears to give your learners a straight path to Zendesk embeddable components like contact forms.
  • Google Analytics: The Docebo Google Analytics connection is vital for gaining insights. It will help you understand how your students interact with your product. In turn, it gives you information on how to improve learning results.
  • Shopify: The Docebo Shopify integration is what you need if you want to sell courses online. It is fast to configure, and you can take advantage of Shopify’s advanced design and customization capabilities. Activating this connection means deactivating the Docebo ecommerce plugin as they cannot work simultaneously.

Docebo vs Absorb LMS

Docebo and Absorb LMS are cloud-based learning management systems. The tools are very similar and do a great job at inspiring learning. To help you decide which of the software to go for, we compared the two.

Both platforms have a user-friendly interface. It is easy to understand Absorb LMS and Docebo features, and you can navigate from one function to another seamlessly. Both are usable on Linux, macOS, and Windows platforms.

Docebo and Absorb offer free trials but use a quote system for their pricing: the price depends on the number of monthly active users. Docebo counts a monthly user as someone who accesses learning materials with a 30-day cycle.

One of the most significant differences lies in the clientele. Docebo mainly caters to large enterprises. While Absorb has the same customers, they also offer services to smaller companies, including non-profits and public administrations.

Furthermore, the two platforms are SCORM compliant and offer video courses. However, while Docebo has gamification functions, Absorb LMS doesn’t.

Despite Docebo LMS and Absorb LMS being very different, choosing one depends on your needs. But be rest assured that both can help you create and sell courses with ease.

Ease of Use

The educational software is easy to use and has an attractive interface.

When students log into Docebo, the first thing they’ll see is a customized landing page. They won’t need to figure out the navigation process as there are widgets to take them straight to your lessons.

As an admin, you can publish a course in any format on the Docebo training platform. There are several tools and resources to help you with this. You don’t require any prior knowledge on operating an LMS software to use the tool.

Besides, there are several tutorial videos to help you understand any feature.

Docebo Pricing

Docebo doesn’t have a set pricing plan but offers a quote to match your specific needs. After filling out a form, you get to talk to an expert via email. The Docebo LMS price depends on the number of active users you have.

This way, you only pay for those who are actively taking part in or viewing your lessons. But before committing to the software, you can test it. The Docebo free trial lasts for 14 days.

If you cancel your subscription, Docebo will run until the end of the current plan.

Docebo Review – Verdict

In this Docebo review, we established that it is easy to use and has powerful integrations. The content creation tool has a modern design and an intuitive interface. You don’t have to worry about the Docebo brand name appearing on your products, as you can remove it using the Docebo White Label feature.

On the downside, some users complained that the software has limited widgets. You can only use 20 per page and 10 for the dynamic version. If you use more, it drastically slows down the page a lot.

We’d love to see them increase the number of widgets in the future and make the dynamic version faster. But overall, Docebo is ideal for creating and selling courses.
