GTracing Gaming Chair Full Specifications

GTRacing Gaming Chair Quality

The Music Series GT890M by GTRacing is not what you would call a luxury gaming chair, but they’re still high quality. And you’ll pay less than $200 for ergonomics and overall comfort.

First off, the whole frame is made of durable steel, not cheap plastic, so nothing is going to snap or warp after a few months. When sitting in it, it’s sturdy and you feel secure, while it’s not so heavy that you cannot easily move around. It gets a star for striking the right balance.

The foam making up the seat and backrest is dense and high quality. And, while it’s not certified as memory foam, it acts in much the same way – enveloping your body within the bucket racing design and popping back to normal once you’re finished.

In fact, some might describe the foam’s denseness and the overall sturdiness of the chair as a bit hard if you’re used to a luxury gaming or office chair. It’s something we saw mentioned in quite a few GTRacing gaming chair user reviews. When you’re gaming intensively, however, you don’t necessarily want something that will cocoon you to sleep.

Comfort might also be an issue for larger gamers. The seat to head height is 33.07 inches/ 84cm and the seat width is 14.9 inches/ 40cm.

Nonetheless, PU leather (faux leather) keeps everything in place and feels nice to the skin. We didn’t have much trouble with sweat or stickiness even after several hours of gameplay, and it looks like it will take a long time before any of this material begins to scuff or wear out. GTRacing guarantees it for two years.

Design and Colors

The GTRacing gaming chair comes in:

  • blue and black
  • white and black
  • red and black
  • pink and white
  • purple and black
  • black and gray

This GTRacing gaming chair is an ergonomic racing chair/ bucket style. This means it somewhat resembles the seat of a racing car. There are raised padded lips on either side of the seat and either side of the back area to help enclose and support your body

It definitely has a colorful gaming vibe. The GTRacing logo is also adorned on the top of the head area and both support pillows. The GTRacing is not a good gaming office chair unless you go for the all gray and black option. Even then, unless you are at home, an office chair with speakers may not be the best choice.

Unlike other models, there is no GTRacing gaming chair in orange or yellow in the M series.

Adjustability

The GT890M is adjustable enough, allowing you to raise the chair from the wheelbase by nearly four inches. You get an overall height between 48.43 inches to 51.97 inches. We had no trouble getting the chair level with our computer monitor.

We also liked that the recline options is not just a rock back-and-forth feature, but you can actually lock the chair into place between 90 and 170 degrees. This is perfect for taking breaks between games or switching things up and watching some shows in comfort.

As noted, the chair is intended for gamers. It is, however, also suitable for streamers, podcasters, and anyone wanting a good quality GTRacing ergonomic office chair or gaming room chair. It looks great alongside similar furniture.

The armrests come with the much-hyped 4D adjustability. As well as moving up and down to suit your height, they also turn left and right if you need some extra elbow leaning support. The padding on the armrests is soft but sturdy – perhaps built to last rather than offer comfort.

Cushions

For added comfort and to counter some of the sturdiness of the chair itself, GTracing has two detachable pillows. One is to support your lower back, affixed to the back of the seat, and the other to rest your head on. These seem to be made from slightly softer foam than the chair itself and are indeed objectively comfortable.

However, if you’re not used to adding pillows or are a bit obsessive like us, it can be quite a hassle to get them in just the right position to make proper use of them. You don’t want to sit on the lumbar pillow, but you also don’t want it so high that it pushes you off the chair. Likewise, the head pillow can give excellent head and neck support if you get it right.

It’s just sometimes easier to remove them as a whole.

Gaming Chair With Speakers

The GTRacing gaming chair music series stands out because it’s a game chair with speakers. If you’re not much of an audiophile and have been using regular or built-in monitor speakers, you might not need one. But there’s no doubt this adds immersion. They accurately target both ears in stereo, providing a new level of gameplay and somewhat directional sound.

However, the quality is not great and can easily become distorted when turned up too loud. Likewise, these speakers lack bass and are nowhere near the quality you would want if you’re looking for a GTRacing chair for music.

A cheap headset or headphones provide the same, if not better, immersive experience. If you’re someone who gets irritated or uncomfortable by headphones, earbuds, and headsets, they are okay. You’d also probably prefer headphones over an office chair with speakers built in, so as not to annoy other workers.

The speakers connect to your computer or other devices via Bluetooth and can run for about 5 to 6 hours before they require charging. A full charge can take up to 3 to 4 hours.

You get a USB cable for charging. This can be plugged into your computer’s port. For faster charging, obviously use a mains plug adapter.

Oddly, it doesn’t actually come with a USB Bluetooth dongle, so you will need to buy one separately to actually get the sound from your PC games. This is a problem other chairs with speakers don’t seem to have.

Assembly

The chair does not ship assembled, which is understandable due to its size. Honestly, we found it a bit of a hassle to put together thanks to some less than stellar instructions and the abundance of parts. Still, if you’ve ever done flatpack furniture, it shouldn’t be too much trouble. You also can’t forget that this GTRacing gaming chair is cheap for its type.

We don’t know where we over or under-tightened something, but we also found the chair and its wheels to be quite squeaky. While it might be off-putting for some people, it is not a deal-breaker.

GTRacing Gaming Chair Size

Dimensions

  • Wheelbase: 27.56 inches
  • Wheels to seat: 17.32 inches to 21.26 inches
  • Seat depth: 20.47 inches
  • Seat width: 14.96 inches
  • Seat to headrest: 33.07 inches
  • Lumbar width: 18.5 inches
  • Shoulder width: 21.65 inches
  • Overall height: 48.43 inches to 51.97 inches
  • Swivel chair: 360 degrees

Although it boasts a 200lb to 300lb weight limit, the chair is actually best suited to small to medium-sized gamers. The company itself offers other options for larger gamers.

GTracing Gaming Chair – How Comfortable Is It?

All things considered, the GT890M GTRacing gaming chair is comfortable, especially if you’ve been using one of those $20 ‘computer chairs’ from Home Depot. However, it’s certainly not the most comfortable gaming chair in the world, as it seems to have favored sturdiness over softness. It can be best described as having little give.

The ergonomic pillows help if they suit you and you can get them where you want them, otherwise they can also be a hassle.

We won’t overstate this issue though. In the grand scheme of chairs, this is still a high-quality and comfortable option.

GT890M Alternatives

If you don’t think the GT890M is quite right for you, they make many other models that are worth checking out. Whether you’re looking for a GTRacing gaming chair for ergonomic purposes or with more features, there’s something for everyone.

GT890MF

Essentially, the same model as the one in our GTRacing gaming chair review. However, this GTRacing gaming chair with Bluetooth speakers comes with an added footrest so you can truly relax between sessions.

GTRacing Gaming Chair GT890MF

Pro Series

More affordable than the music series and arguably more comfortable, the Pro Series is GTRacing’s flagship range of gaming chairs. They come in multiple sizes and with all kinds of fun colors and themes.

Ace Series

The Ace Series is the company’s more luxury range of gaming chairs, with prices ranging from $199.99 to $269.99. They used improved materials and can accommodate larger gamers.

GTRacing Gaming Chair Review – Verdict

If you are buying your first gaming chair and want something that won’t break your bank balance, the GTRacing GT890M music series is great value for money. Even if you don’t need the built-in speakers, it’s still worth the price for the chair alone.

It’s built well, perhaps a little too sturdy, but it’s far more comfortable than a lot of cheap generic office and computer chairs.

If you don’t like headsets but want more gaming immersion, then definitely go for it. However, if you’re a larger gamer or want maximum comfort or luxury, you might want to try something a bit more expensive. You can check out our other GTRacing gaming chair reviews

FAQ

Is Gtracing com legit?

Yes, it is the official website. The brand itself is legitimate too, offering many good quality gaming products at affordable prices. You will find lots of different chair models and chair add-ons, desks, keyboards, mice, gaming surfaces, and much more.

The company was founded in China where the products are manufactured. It has had a strong base in the United States since 2015. These are legitimate and competitive products, not cheap generic items you’d find on Wish, for example.

They generally get good overall reviews and provide free shipping sitewide for US customers. They also regularly run deals and discounts, allowing you to get money off your orders. Because of this, it is always best to purchase GTRacing products directly from GTracing.com and not third-party retailers.

Is GTRacing a good gaming chair?

Overall, GTRacing makes good gaming chairs with sturdy but not overly luxurious materials. There’s a range of models that suit most types of gamers. The GT890M is a good affordable option with some nice extra features, like the stereo Bluetooth speakers.

For less than $200, the price to quality ratio is very good. Actually, most GTRacing gaming chair price options are less than $200.

How long do GTRacing chairs last? (warranty, material)

GTRacing chairs last several years if used daily and with intensive gaming. Although PU leather isn’t genuine leather, it’s still durable, resistant to scratches and scuffs, and comfortable. Durability is extended with its steel frame. This isn’t a cheap plastic chair; it’s built to last.

We tested it over several weeks for our GTRacing gaming chair review and had zero issues.

While the GT890M does not use memory foam padding in its backrest, it is still dense and high quality. It will accommodate your body and bounce back to normal after use.

Thanks to their warranty, the chair is guaranteed for at least 2 years. We, however, expect it to last for several more after that if not used in an aggressive or reckless manner.
