Building a website is one of the best ways of establishing your business online. While it’s useful in promoting products, it doesn’t guarantee you sales. You can use other alternatives such as advertising to capture potential consumers. However, Google Ads data shows that only about 8% convert into paying customers.

Leadpages Inc. is here to help. It offers one of the best solutions for creating email lists, pushing advertisements, and managing conversations. You can utilizе tools such as pop-ups, sign-up forms, and landing pages. And it only takes a few clicks to take your marketing to the next level.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg!

In this Leadpages review, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about this solution. Without further ado, let’s dive in.

What Is Leadpages?

Leadpages was set-up in 2012 by technopreneurs Simon Payne, Tracy Simmons, and Clay Collins. It is a landing page builder platform that helps businesses generate leads. Some of its standout features include hosting, free domain registration, and digital file delivery

The solution comes with a wide range of tools, including opt-in campaigns, pop-ups, and notification bars for collecting emails. Apart from that, you get 100+ free templates to capture the attention of potential visitors.

Leadpages offers integrations is another area that makes this tool a perfect business companion. It supports popular email services such as AWeber, MailChimp, and ConstantContact. This ensures that you don’t leave any customers behind in your advertising activities.

At present, 45,000+ users trust this product worldwide to drive sales. And as per Leadpages reviews, it will guarantee a high return on investment (ROI)

Here’s what it can offer:

Leadpages Features

Leadpages has awesome features

Leadpages Page Builder

Leadpages offers an easy-to-use builder for creating responsive landing pages. Thanks to its drag-and-drop functionality, you can create web pages with zero technical skills. All you have to do is drag elements – text, images, shapes, etc. – in the necessary place and start editing.

The builder is neat and clutter-free. You can easily access the widget bar. Likewise, there’s a search engine for filtering available add-ons quickly. You can style all the functional elements. You can have fun with color adjustment, font resizing, and animations.

Leadpages has a gallery at your disposal if you want to add images. You can also upload photos from your device. Apart from that, you’ll have access to Shutterstock’s premium footage at a bargain. The tool gives you endless possibilities of spicing up your landing pages.

You can embed custom codes on the templates as well. It includes the likes of CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. But to make use of them, you’ll need to have advanced coding skills

The visual website builder, however, needs polishing in a few areas. Its drag-drop feature is quite sluggish at times. Some Leadpages reviews uncovered that it adds unwanted scripts on the pages. In doing so, it causes your website to load slowly, which negatively impacts SEO

The good thing is you’re always in full control. You can limit the number of widgets to only a few for a lightweight, fast, and responsive landing page.

Leadpages Templates

Leadpages offers free templates as an easy way to configure your landing pages. You have the option of choosing from 100+ professionally designed themes. It covers a wide range of industries.

The best part is the vendor sorts templates into popular lists. In our case, we went with the highest converting options. And boy-oh-boy did our email list balloon in a fortnight.

Of course, you can customize a template by either adding or removing widgets. Likewise, it’s ideal for creating unique designs to personalize the Leadpages templates

But Leadpages isn’t just about collecting leads. You can use it to host a professional website for your business. There are 40+ customizable templates to get you started in a snap. We find them fit for any scenario.

Lead Generation Tools

Leadpages offers you quality tools for the easy collection of leads. You get alert bars for a start to draw the user’s attention. You can make them appear at the top or bottom of a website. Since they occupy a fraction of the page, it makes them ideal for targeting mobile devices.

LeadDigit allows you to engage with users using SMS. You can set up a mobile number for collecting emails. From here, the platform adds any user that texts you to an email list. But you’ll need to display banners advertising the text message code.

Leadpages has a popup tool that you can add to all landing pages or configure them to serve as exit pop-ups. The feature includes a JavaScript code that tracks visitor activity. It opens the pop-up once it detects the user is about to close a browser window.

The best part?

You can create unlimited pop-ups, landing pages, alert bars, and notifications. Leadpages is definitely worth the investment.

Leadpages Domains

You can get a Leadpages domain name for free on any plan. The offer is only available for the first year, which is standard for the industry. From there, it will set you back at least $4.99/year to renew it.

You can still use a web address from any third-party provider. That, however, requires extra work, like configuring the CNAME and DNS records. Leadpages has got your back – just follow their instructions.

For publishing standalone landing pages, you can use the Leadpages sub-domain. It will let you create offers for products, services, and events. But the process is complex, so you might want to ask the support team for help.

Leadpages Integrations

The numerous integrations really made a huge impression on us, while working on this Leadpages review. You can choose from 40+ applications for connecting with popular services across the internet. These include the likes of Facebook, WordPress, and Zapier

You can also use Leadpages to connect with other tools for increasing productivity, including email service providers such as MailChimp and AWeber. As if not enough, you can link popular webinars and CRM apps

While that sounds nice, some third-party integrations cost extra – HubSpot, Salesforce, and Marketo, to name a few. You’ll need to make a separate subscription from the providers. Still, it’s handy for running all these add-ons under one roof.

Leadpages Checkouts

You can use the checkouts widget to sell products online hassle-free. Leadpages uses Stripe for that. With it, you can accept credit card payments from around the world. The feature additionally supports digital services, recurring subscription fees, and refunds.

All transactions take place via a secure payment processing (SCA) platform. Despite that, some customers worry about the security of their bank details. That’s where the Leadpages Paypal integration comes into play. It allows your customers to hide any sensitive data while making purchases on your site.

Leadboxes

Leadpages has Leadboxes for a user-friendly way of interacting with visitors. It provides an efficient two-step opt-in to collect leads. Rather than popping up suddenly, it appears when a user clicks on a call-to-action button.

While that’s good for business, it isn’t flawless. There’s only one type of template that you can use. Besides, you have limited options when it comes to customizations. Other than that, it gets the job done.

Leadpages A/B Testing

You can use Leadpages to run multiple tests for optimizing lead collection. It’s useful for setting up different versions of your landing pages and pop-ups. By using it, you can test and settle for the ones that generate the most leads.

You can create as many items as you wish. Unfortunately, the feature is not available in the Standard plan. You also can’t use Leadpages’ drag-and-drop editor to customize it. Other than that, it’s an excellent tool for increasing conversions and sales.

Leadpages Security

Leadpages doesn’t provide the fancy features for beefing up the security of your landing pages. You still get the standard SSL for end-to-end data encryption

Leadpages is GDPR compliant too. It promises to protect the data that you collect from unlawful use.

Leadpages doesn’t really take on responsibility for any data breaches. You should, therefore, keep an eye on all activities to minimize unwanted events.

Leadpages Pros and Cons

During the research for our Leadpages review, we made a list with the most outstanding pros and cons:

Drag-and-Drop Page Builder – Pro

We did rave a lot about the drag-and-drop builder. But it deserves all the praises. It’s simple to use, helps you customize basically all parts of your landing page, and works with most Leadpages widgets. We only have two complaints, but we’ll discuss them later in this Leadpages review.

All content is mobile-responsive by default. But sometimes it’s good to be sure of what you’re doing. To do this, you can use the device switcher to test for compatibility. If any elements are amiss, just drag them into place and test again.

We found out from Leadpages reviews that combining this feature with free templates would make our lives easier. It sure did. You have the option of selecting from 100+ pre-built templates and you are free to customize them.

Analytics – Pro

Leadpages also offers analytics. Unlike its peers, it has a built-in solution. It’s useful for tracking traffic and conversion rates as well. What’s more, you can add it to all lead pages, alert bars, and pop-ups.

You can additionally use it to manage your ad spending. One thing you’ll appreciate is it ranks pages based on performance. From here, you can decide to disable or pause low-performing campaigns. That’s a sure way to improve your advertising strategy.

But wait, that’s not all!

Leadpages integrates flawlessly with popular third-party analytics providers like Google, Facebook, and Clicky. They’re so easy to implement! All you need to do is copy and paste the tracker codes from other providers.

Free Hosting – Pro

Leadpages also has hosting services. You can host an unlimited number of lead pages for running campaigns. Likewise, the service lets you create a limitless number of sub-domains.

But it gets much better with website hosting. Yes, you can run a standard site on Leadpages. There are a limited number of options, though, for applying customizations. It includes 40+ templates that are pretty basic. On the upside, the drag-drop editor is always at your disposal for improving the layout.

The unrestricted bandwidth allocation is the icing on the cake. It’s ideal for handling massive amounts of traffic without the risk of going offline. In comparison, competitors, such as Unbounce, have a 50,000/month visitor limit. The worst part is it costs twice as much as Leadpages.

Third-Party Integrations – Pro

We also mentioned the Leadpages integrations before, but it’s one of the biggest pros. We already covered social media, email services, and CRM.

But the cherry on top is Zapier. It gives you access to 1000+ apps for effective lead management. These include apps for processing data, managing email lists, and handling customers.

Aside from that, the integration with Marketo helps you to drive effective campaigns. The tool is designed to track user behavior, engage, and enhance customer experiences. And you don’t have to break a sweat, for it uses artificial intelligence to automate processes.

Slow Drag-Drop Builder – Con

While it’s easy-to-use, the builder is quite slow when dragging elements into place. It might take you several attempts to get things right.

Our lead pages also had unwanted codes. At first, we thought that it was a mistake on our part. But alas! We found hundreds of complaints in Leadpages reviews about it. To avoid this, you have to keep your webpages lightweight. You can do this by maintaining a handful of widgets only.

While those things are by no means a deal-breaker, they can be annoying.

Limited Design Options – Con

Leadpages Inc. restricts users from taking full advantage of custom scripts – something advanced users won’t be happy about.

Sure, you can add extra functionality using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. But within the vendors’ limitations.

On a positive note, these restrictions are in place for security purposes. It prevents hackers from injecting malicious scripts on your lead pages. Aside from that, Leadpages claims it prevents abuse of system resources. Some users can get cheeky and devise ways of stealing leads from others. As such, the limitations are in place for your own benefit.

No Photo Editor – Con

Leadpages image gallery offers quite a few options for enhancing your pages. You can add content from your device or purchase stock footage. Sadly, you can’t edit the photos. You’ll have to use a third-party app to crop, resize, and add graphics to the photos.

The vendor should also consider adding a carousel widget. At present, it requires you to add several photographs on a webpage. That’s tedious for visitors who have to scroll through the page’s contents.

Other than that, you get Leadpages icons as compensation. You can use them to spice up notes, bullets, and other important information.

Greedy RAM Hog – Con

The editor’s greed for RAM is another huge con. It consumes 50% and above. Even though it depends on browser type, we couldn’t get anything below that.

We did notice that the situation improves when you’re in incognito mode. The mode limits your browser’s add-ons from running in the background. Also, Microsoft Edge did outclass the rest of the browsers when it came to using the editor.

A standalone Leadpages app with offline capabilities can help resolve this issue. Despite being a great idea, it will require lots of resources to build it. Hopefully, the vendor listens to its customers!

Leadpages Customer Support

One thing you will love about the Leadpages email list builder is the customer support team. It’s reasonably fast, responsive, and efficient in resolving issues. The only weakness is the limitation to the number of channels that users can access. For example, only Advanced and Pro customers can access phone and live chat support. Standard users have to rely on email.

There’s a wait time of about 3 hours for email. It’s okay if you’re not having a pressing issue. On the brighter side, the agents are always polite and helpful. They gave us video tutorials for reference!

The knowledge base is also great. You will find useful topics for addressing common issues. Anything that’s outside scope, however, will require the input of the technical team.

Who Is Leadpages Best for?

Leadpages offers email marketing tools suitable for most professionals.

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)

Leadpages is a perfect solution for businesses that wish to increase revenues. You can use it to create email lists for engaging with your customers. Out of it, you can send enticing offers to convert your subscribers into sales

The application makes this possible through the use of conversion tools. These include landing pages, pop up opt-ins, and alert bars. You can also take advantage of SMS to capture leads. For this one, Leadpages assigns you a dedicated messaging code. From here, it adds anyone that sends you a message to an email list.

Aside from that, you can host a website for your business entirely for free. You will have access to 40+ professional templates. You can sell products and services directly from the site.

Schools

There’s a good number of Leadpages website examples for learning institutions. You can find it in the education section under the categories. Furthermore, all the templates perfectly fit any type of institution. You can, of course, customize everything to suit your taste.

Some of the best use cases include signing up students for classes, selling courses, and publishing e-books. It’s also great for enrolling people for events. For example, you can use it for advertising a webinar and workshop.

WordPress Users

Leadpages has a WordPress plugin. You can use it to install landing pages, pop-ups, and alert bars.

With WordPress, you have access to 50,000+ templates. This means that you can create any type of site and use it to collect leads.

However, it costs extra to host third-party vendors. That’s unlike on Leadpages, where hosting is available for free. On the bright side, you can hire developers, purchase premium themes, or code from scratch, to create the perfect website.

Freelancers

The Standard plan is fairly priced for individual users. You can use Leadpages forms, opt-ins, and alert bars to easily collect leads.

The preview content is great for providing potential clients with a snippet of what you’re offering. With it, you can display parts for your ebook, video lessons, or online services.

Consultants

You can use Leadpages templates for free to provide consultation services. It’s a good option for life coaches, virtual assistants, real estate agents, and more.

The layout of the template designs is on point, too. You can choose minimal design concepts or use complex ones. Or you can go overboard to customize everything as per your needs. Just make sure that you test different formats before settling for any.

Leadpages Pricing

Leadpages’ pricing plans are as follows:

  • Standard – $27/Month. It’s the cheapest of them all. It offers unlimited landing pages, pop-ups, and alert bars. You also get free hosting and a custom domain of choice.
  • Pro – $59/Month. The Pro plan supports e-commerce, A/B split testing option and hosting for up to 3 sites. Other features include email triggers, text campaigns, and lead notifications.
  • Advanced – $239/Month. The Leadpages price for this plan is high, but it packs lots of goodies. It supports 50+ websites, advanced integrations, and collaboration for teams. You also get one-on-one technical support via phone.

Leadpages’ 14-day free trial is available for testing the waters. The platform doesn’t have a refund policy. Unfortunately, you need to link a credit card to activate the service.

Leadpages Review – Verdict

Leadpages is an incredible tool for enabling businesses to collect leads. Even though it’s pricey, it’s worth every penny.

You get access to a wide collection of conversion tools. These include free themes, pop-ups, and alert bars. Aside from that, you’ll find a powerful analytics tool for tracking every click.

You also get unlimited hosting for handling any volume of traffic. That’s unlike Unbounce that limits you to only 50,000 visits.

On the downside, there are a few areas that need improvement. Improving the drag-and-drop editor should surely be a priority. We also find the lack of chat support on the Standard plan a bad thing.

We read a lot of Leadpages reviews and, after our tests, we definitely think it’s a platform worth considering. Try the free trial today and see for yourself!
