What Is MobileMonkey?

MobileMonkey is a chatbot platform for bots on Facebook, Instagram, SMS, and websites. Basically, it lets you create your messaging tools to automate sales and customer service. As such, you can easily connect with your audience and keep an eye on hot leads.

Sounds like a marketer’s dream, right?

Clearly, this software design is for agencies, in-house marketers, SMBs, creators, and coaches.

You can:

  • Build chatbots on multiple platforms
  • Integrate live chat
  • Use lead generation tactics like chat blasting and drip campaigns
  • Get analytics on your growth, chatbot activity, and audience.

And that’s not all!

You can also find the mobile MobileMonkey app on Google Play and the App Store. It conveniently keeps you in touch with customers across multiple channels.

MobileMonkey Features

MobileMonkey’s main point of pride is its patented OmniChat technology. OmniChat allows you to automate communication on numerous messaging apps. Best of all, you’ll receive all incoming communication in a single inbox

It’s also the driving force behind most of its features!

Let me show you how.

Chatbot Builder

Creating chatbots is this platform’s meat and potatos. You can make them from scratch or customize templates.

For the moment, let’s focus on the basic MobileMonkey bot builder.

Its intuitive drag-and-drop interface lets you design dialogs and Q&A sections. You simply pick the required communication elements and add them to your bot.

Users unfamiliar with coding will be happy to know that this is a coding-free zone. You’ll just have to pre-configure your answers on an if/then basis.

For example:

If a user says something like “What’s your name?”, then the bot will reply, “I’m the MobileMonkey chatbot!”

However, its Natural Language Processing (NLP) capabilities are limited. MobileMonkey bot only recognizes keywords but not the user’s intent. That means you’ll have to invest time in pre-configuring all the synonyms and phrasal variations. Otherwise, this app won’t pick them up.

On the bright side, you can personalize the experience with emojis and typing pauses!

Chatbot Templates

If you’re in a hurry or just feeling lazy, you can always use its quick templates. Each comes with standard chat pages, like:

  • Main Menu — always available Home and Support options
  • Questions to segment your audience
  • Default message — in case the bot doesn’t understand the question.

Additionally, MobileMonkey offers templates for specific kinds of businesses and industries. Coffee shop, gym, real estate, and podcast chatbots are all available — to name just a few.

Chat Blaster

Chat blasting is a clever tactic to boost customer engagement. It allows you to simultaneously message as many of your contacts as you want.

Why is this important?

Think about it: you’ll be able to segment your audience and tailor your content to their exact needs. The more specific you are with your audience, the better the read and response rates will be.

The MobileMonkey Facebook Messenger Chat Blaster simplifies this whole process. All you need to do is:

  1. Collect user details.
  2. Develop a custom audience based on the available user info.
  3. Insert chat dialog (the message your audience will receive).
  4. Choose when to send the message — and blast away!

Drip Campaign

Another method of leading traffic your way is via drip campaigns. They’re a sure-proof way to nurture your relationship with prospective leads and keep them engaged with your brand.

Here’s how!

You can start by crafting your dialogs with the MobileMonkey chatbot builder. Then, you’ll need to assign your content to a specific audience. You can use filters to zero in on the attributes you’ll use to segment your contacts.

Finally, you’ll need to create a schedule for your drips. Your targeted clients can expect a steady trickle of messages.

Chatbot Contact Growth Tools

MobileMonkey has a whole arsenal of lead magnets.

Let’s take a look!

Facebook Post Comment Guard

This tool is basically an autoresponder. You can make it so that every time someone comments on your posts, they receive your programmed message.

Click-to-Messenger Ads

The name says it all: each time someone clicks on your ad, they’ll enter a chat you’ve configured with the MobileMonkey bot. It’s a great way to reach new audiences and introduce them to your service or product.

Scan Codes

QR scan codes take you where you need to be with a quick flick of your camera. In this case, your clients need to just scan the provided code and they’ll be instantly connected to one of your chatbots. Neat!

Website Chat Widget

You can also add a handy Facebook Messenger chat widget to your website. It’s better than regular on-site chat because it preserves your history for future marketing campaigns.

Integrations

The MobileMonkey app has a reasonable selection of integrations. You can connect to:

  • Zapier
  • Slack
  • Mailchimp
  • HubSpot.

Most importantly, it has built-in live chat integration. This feature lets you re-route chats to live agents who are better positions to answer clients’ questions than bots.

You can also make your own webhooks!

On the downside, the platform doesn’t have any integrations with E-commerce software. Though, you can still connect indirectly using Zapier.

Analytics

Analytics keep you informed on your bots’ performance and how to improve it. The MobileMonkey dashboard provides detailed reports on:

  • Contact list growth
  • Audience segmentation
  • Conversion campaigns
  • Sessions
  • Delivery rates
  • Read rates
  • Response rates.

What’s more, you can select any date range and visualize it. If wanting to track growth, it’s a must-have tool!

MobileMonkey Customer Support

If you need any assistance, you are free to reach out to numerous support channels and tools, such as:

  • Facebook Messenger chat
  • Email
  • Facebook community group
  • Blog
  • Help docs
  • Premier consulting.

According to other users’ MobileMonkey reviews on TrustPilot, G2, and Capterra, the reps are responsive, quick, and up to the task

The only reported negative experiences are about users not being able to unsubscribe from the service’s mailing list.

Overall, my experiences with MobileMonkey’s team were on the positive side!

Here’s why.

I gave Facebook Messenger a try first. After initiating a chat, I was connected to a bot. I’ve asked the chatbot a specific question, to see if it would redirect me to a live agent.

And it did, after a few minutes of waiting. The representative was perfectly polite and helpful.

My attempt with email support went similarly well. They answered my queries the same day I sent them.

Additionally, the MobileMonkey Facebook group is a great place to check before reaching out to reps. It’s bustling with activity!

There’s also a variety of free guides and webinars on the site’s knowledge base. You can type in your problem in the search bar and instantaneously find your solution.

One more thing:

I’ve mentioned Premier consulting packages. You can add them to your paid subscription for a deeper and more involved approach to OmniChat marketing.

You’ll be assigned a chatbot development specialist to help you develop customized strategies for your business. This add-on is pretty pricey, though, and its not exactly clear what you are paying for.

Ease of Use

I’m pleased to report that the MobileMonkey bot builder is completely novice-friendly. It requires no coding whatsoever to create functional chatbots. You’ll quickly learn the ropes thanks to its intuitive interface and drag-and-drop mechanics.

If you still feel unsure about building your bot from the ground up, there are multiple templates that you can adapt and learn from.

Now, let’s have a look at the dashboard.

The moment you log in, you’ll see a pinned 10-minute chatbot checklist. It’s a helpful list of quick steps for setting up a drip campaign or comment guard, for example.

The main menu is on the left side of the MobileMonkey dashboard. It lists multiple functions like:

  • Home
  • Inbox
  • Website chat
  • Facebook
  • Marketing automation
  • Leads
  • Chatbots
  • Templates
  • Settings
  • Help
  • Community.

The best part is that you can test all of your chatbots in the app prior to launching live. And if you get stuck, there’s a support button in the right-hand corner of the interface.

MobileMonkey Pricing

MobileMonkey has evenly spread out its services into three products:

  • Agencio — aimed at agencies
  • FunnelPro — aimed at in-house marketers
  • InstaChamp — aimed at SMBs, creators, and coaches.

Each of these has separate pricing plans, which I’ll discuss shortly. You can try every option with a free demo. And there’s a 90-day money-back guarantee if you change your mind!

Let’s focus on the plans now.

Agencio

As of this moment, Agencio only offers the Enterprise Edition. It’s a custom plan with pricing on request.

This MobileMonkey subscription will get you pretty much everything the software has to offer. That means:

  • Multiple accounts and user logins with permissions
  • Advanced chat automation for all supported platforms
  • Ad automation
  • Drip campaigns
  • Integrations.

FunnelPro

FunnelPro has two packages: Startup Edition and Growth Edition. The former costs $59/month (with the annual plan), whilst the latter is on request.

Startup Edition is limited to only one user, 1000 send credits, and 3000 contacts. Growth Edition, on the other hand, has unlimited users, 10,000 send credits, and 10,000 contacts.

InstaChamp

InstaChamp’s offer is the most generous of all. There are three MobileMonkey pricing plans to choose from:

  • VIP Edition — for free
  • Platinum — $9.95/month
  • Startup Edition — $59/month.

The VIP Edition package lets you use DM autoresponder tools, 10 branding-free sends, and 250 contacts.

However, Platinum raises the numbers of sends (500) and contacts (1000)! It also supports unlimited different Story Mention replies and DM responses for unlimited keywords.

Finally, Startup Edition is the exact same plan as in FunnelPro.

But, there’s more!

Remember the Premier Consulting service mentioned while discussing customer support?

Well, it comes in three packages:

  • Starter — three hours of consulting for $449
  • Advanced — six hours for $779
  • Enterprise — twelve hours for $1,399.

You’ll have to pay for it on top of your existing MobileMonkey subscription. That’s quite a price tag for a limited consulting service that’s just glossed over on the website!

MobileMonkey Review — Verdict

Here are my final thoughts on this software.

MobileMonkey has almost everything in its toolkit you’d need for CRM and marketing. Yes, almost — as integrations with E-comm software and the ability to buy directly within the chatbot would go a long way.

Still, its OmniChat tech has proven to be a real game-changer. One inbox for all communication — now that’s efficient!

Count in the excellent ease of use and assortment of contact growth tools and you’ve got yourself a sweet deal.

If I had to nitpick (and I do), a more nuanced NLP would sweeten it even more. And I’m not a fan of the overpriced consulting package!

Overall, this review can join the ranks of other positive MobileMonkey reviews. This solution can be a boon to everyone looking to dip their toes in chatbot creation.
