This solution supports all Office and OpenDocument file types and adds pre-made OnlyOffice plugins. But there’s more:
Users can create all kinds of documents with OnlyOffice’s customizable style creation. It comes with text formatting and numerous page layout options, including:

OnlyOffice offers many creative options, with multi-level lists, a range of icons, and more. There are customizable footnotes if you need to use references, and you can also create and add a table of contents.
Surprisingly, it lacks a citation manager. Also, the Find and Replace option doesn’t find styles but only replaces them.
This top document management software also offers a spreadsheet app. Charts and graphs are easy to create from your data with many customization options, including pivot tables, text to columns, filtering, and built-in formula.
When testing the software for our OnlyOffice review, we found the formula input quite limited. When you type, suggestions appear, but descriptions are not available until you hover over them. They disappear once the formula is selected. And unfortunately, error tracing is not supported.
The OnlyOffice online suite lets you work with texts, spreadsheets, and presentations similar to Microsoft Office. We liked that we were able to co-edit, chat, and comment in real-time. The Revision History and Mail Merge are a nice bonus.
To increase functionality, you can add side applications or plugins. These can be self-made with the help of the provided API or offered by thе software.
The desktop editor service is available offline and supports collaborative features when connected to a portal. You can even use it on iOS and Android.
This tool offers a simple CRM solution to manage sales and improve productivity. Users can build their client database, analyze potential deal success rates, manage business processes, and track sales. Potential customers will be automatically transferred to your CRM software database with the automated workflow.
The solution comes with an invoicing system, mail integration, customer call management system, and sales reporting. We didn’t experience any noticeable issues with those features and didn’t find any complaints about them in other OnlyOffice reviews.
Apps and Integrations
You can use the software on Windows, macOS, and Linux devices. It is also available for Android and iOS. You can use it as cloud-based software, or it can be downloaded to your device.
We did experience some resistance with the iOS app as features were difficult to find. Other OnlyOffice reviews have mentioned this as well. The desktop and web applications work lag-free, and they are much easier to navigate.
Ease of Use
This document organization software is relatively easy to use. We already mentioned the iOS app issues, but you’ll track, manage, and store documents in no time if you have used any Microsoft Office software in the past.
The interface is intuitive, and the main page has a sleek design. It gives you a sneak-peek into your folders and documents, collaboration tools, folders, and cloud accounts. There is also a sidebar featuring advanced features, customizable tables, and embedded chart data.
OnlyOffice has a well-adjusted navigation menu, meaning collaboration is quick and straightforward. Users can simultaneously use, change, edit, comment, and work on a specific document.

We did run into some issues with Chrome and Safari during our OnlyOffice review testing period. Trackpad zooming is slow to respond in Chrome, and it doesn’t work at all in Safari.
You will be happy to know that OnlyOffice is both GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) compliant.
Other document management solutions offered by OnlyOffice include self-hosting security measures where all assigned data and services are safely kept within your physical perimeter. Additionally, it puts hardware protection into users’ hands so that you can manually maintain the security standards of your business. OnlyOffice provides technical support if needed.
This software also comes with additional data protection systems, including JWT (JSON Web Token), HTTPS protocols, and document permission management forms. It also has private rooms with randomly encrypted AES-256 keys.
Those who want to add that extra security can do so with two-factor authentication. There is also the option of enabling code verification through a code generator app. Single Sign-On authentication can be used and a few other additional filtering and monitoring features.
You can back up document content both manually and automatically with the storage option of your choice (Dropbox, Box, Google Drive, OneDrive) or third-party service (AWS S3, Rackspace Cloud Storage, Google Cloud Storage, or Selectel Cloud Storage).
Knowledge Base and Customer Support
Ours isn’t the only OnlyOffice review to praise its customer support. There’s a knowledge base available and also a SaaS forum or Server forum, in case your issue does not require the help of an agent. The Help Center offers installation, administration, integration, user, contribution, and development guides.

OnlyOffice Review – Verdict
If you are looking for a well-equipped office suite for your business, this software ranks pretty high. It might not tick all the boxes, but it makes for one of the most customizable office solutions we have reviewed. We praise the affordable price and the support team. The number of available features is by far one of the best out there.
We do hope that the cloud version will be updated to support the corporate directory integration. And it would be great to see more compliance features in the future.
The software has a lot to offer, and we see a bright feature for it. But even now, our OnlyOffice review states it to be a fantastic software worth purchasing.
