Looking for reliable design software, but not ready to invest in Adobe Photoshop? This is the tool for you. Users praise the solution’s simplicity in their Snappa reviews. But that’s hardly all it has to offer.
What Is Snappa?
Snappa is the quickest way for non-designers to create graphics online. It was founded in 2015 by Christopher Gimmer and Marc Chouinard, headquartered in Ottawa, Canada.
At that time, freelancers and businesses struggled with their digital art programs. The available tools were difficult, complicated, and time-consuming. Not to mention expensive. And so was hiring a graphics designer.
Set on changing the game, Gimmer and Chouinard created the Snappa app. It became popular due to its simple design and a vast collection of stylish templates. You can create display ads, blog posts, and social media posts, among others.
Today, thousands of marketers, organizations, and entrepreneurs use it. However, the Snappa photo editor is primarily for non-designers and beginners. The app has a simple and intuitive user interface.
The software is very intuitive. It also supports team collaboration. It allows groups to work seamlessly together. You’ll be able to add text to photos and effortlessly merge with social media platforms. Other key benefits of the application include background removal, speech bubbles, and an image resizer.
As tradition dictates, we put all the features to a test and outlined the results in our Snappa review.
Here’s what you can expect from this software:
With the Snappa editor, you can crop photos at zero cost. You can either upload a snap or choose from over 4 million available free hi-res pictures.
The tool allows you to choose what you want to keep. You can upload photos of any file type and even raw kinds. All the images offered by Snappa are free and can be used for professional purposes.
All you need to do to use the feature is create an account. Signing up is free. Once you log in, you’ll get a video tutorial.
Next, you can choose a preset picture size or enter custom dimensions.
Click on background, pick from photos, patterns, or uploads, depending on your needs. Once you find what you want, click on it, and it will appear on the artboard. From there, you can shape and reshape until you get the size you want.
Cropping images on the best web design software is easy to do. You can add text and effects.
You can also twitch the color overlays, saturation, blur, hue, brightness, and contrast.
Add Text to Photo and Images
This feature lets you add comments and captions to your snaps. You can play with various Snappa fonts and rotate the texts to add your unique flair. There are over 200+ fonts to select from.
If you like bold fonts like Montserrat Extra Bold for your memes, consider Snappa. Other commonly used options include Roboto for body text or a high-ender like Cinzel. There’s something for everyone.
You can also upload custom fonts. It supports .ttf, .otf, and .woff.
There is a color palette to pick from if you decide not to use the custom design. Play with blur and shadows to make your text pop. Alternatively, you can increase the visual quality by reducing your content’s opacity.
But it doesn’t end there.
Those with an eye for typography can adjust letter spacing and line height for fonts with a simple slider. You can also rotate the text! Move your control left and right until you get the look, effect, or readability you desire. That’s one of the most praised aspects of the software, as seen in Snappa reviews.
With a speech bubble, you give your image a voice. It draws your audience’s eyes to your message.
Snappa has hundreds of bubbles to choose from. You can design yours if you don’t like what the solution offers.
The designs are rectangular or round; some are cloudlike, and others are oddly shaped text bubbles.
Once you find what you like, customize it to your taste. Change the size of the speechcraft and the color if you want. You can increase or decrease opacity until you get the desired effect.
The speech bubbles are flippable, and you can rotate them until they are in the desired position.
One-Click Image Removal
The Snappa pictures editing software gives you the ideal backdrop. You don’t have to rely on freelancers to switch the photo frame.
You can change the background of selfies and headshots. Go from a plain one to something outdoorsy or vice versa.
Snappa is photoshopping made easy. This feature works well for social media influencers. They can easily change ordinary backgrounds to that of the brands they represent. This component is a click away, and you can add texts and graphics.
If you’re into e-commerce, Snappa photography tools help you create transparent backdrops. It does not matter if you have an office; this feature makes you look professional.
All you have to do is capture your product’s image, click a button, and make the switch. You can use a clean white background or a color that matches your brand identity.
Aside from pictures, you can remove the background from logos. This works for screenshots or a downloaded symbol. After taking out the unwanted backdrop, you can save the edited image as web-optimized.
You can do the same for computer graphics. The feature is only available for those on the Pro and Team plans.
This Snappa graphic design benefit is available whether you upload your image or pick one from the app’s collection. You can obscure pictures with the software’s simple blur slider tool. The app allows image darkening, saturation, hue, brightness, contrast, color, overlays, and opacity.
Asides from blurring photos, you can dim backgrounds for headshots and selfies.
You can flip background images and photos. You can also switch up icons vertically and horizontally in just one click.
You can also switch vector images, resize them, change the color, and more for free.
Snapp is perfect if you need graphics for Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Pinterest, and ads.
After singing into the Snappa app, upload a photo, pick a template, or design one from scratch. Then click on resize to scale the pictures, graphics, and text for the intended post.
The Snappa photo editor is very intuitive. You can use it to size and resize your photos for any social media platform. The creative software has multiple templates for you to choose from, and they are customizable. We didn’t feel the need to watch the video tutorial when testing the feature for our Snappa review.
You can use it for free.

This feature is also available for the live streaming platform, Twitch. You can create a Snappa Twitch banner within 60 seconds.
Team members can view folders at any time, edit, and download images.
Snappa allows units to share fonts. All you have to do is import them into the online graphic editor. You can set team colors, thereby doing away with hex codes.
Another key benefit of this feature is administrative privileges. You can grant it to multiple members for easy account management and remove them with the click of a button.
This feature is free for beginners. But the Snappa free trial expires after a while, and you have to upgrade to keep using the team collaboration tools. It supports up to 5 people.

Snappa vs Canva
Snappa and Canva are two top choices, if you want an easy-to-use design app, The former is the ideal graphic design for beginners, while the latter is also suitable for more advanced users.
Snappa offers over 6,000 plus templates, while with Canva, you get more than 8,000. It provides stickers and badge graphics – Snappa does not.
With Snappa, you pay per user. Canva offers subscriptions with up to 50 people. The other difference between the two solutions is their setup manner. Snappa gives you a 9-minute tutorial video before commencing usage. Canva doesn’t.
Canva is available for Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Android, and iOS users. On the other hand, there is no Snappa for Android devices.
Canva uses both phone and email support for their customer service. Snappa provides only online assistance. The navigation bar takes you to a direct ticket system.
You can also access 16 tutorial videos on creating digital imaging. Another differentiating factor between the two is the auto-save feature. Canva saves your work while in progress, but with Snappa, you’ll have to start from the beginning if there’s a hiccup.
The two also share similarities. Whether you’re using Snappa or Canva, you can share what you create on social media. But Snappa has Buffer integration no matter the plan you’re on.
Both offer flexible pricing and give you the liberty to pick the plan that suits you best.

Snappa Review – Verdict
Snappa is a reliable tool for image development and technical illustration. It is easy to use, has a friendly and straightforward interface, and is affordable. You do not require any earlier additional training as a rookie graphics creator.
We love almost everything about the solution but think it could use more features. The drawing software will also do well to upgrade their customer support options.
Another thing often mentioned in Snappa reviews is the lack of mobile apps. We’d like to see one too!
But those are really insignificant issues. Snappa is the way to go if you’re looking for a beginner-friendly solution.
Snappa is a digital graphics design software. It’s great for beginners, has a lot of templates, numerous editing options, and integrates with Buffer.
For more information on what the solution does, read the Snappa review above.
f you want to remove a background from a photo, click the “Remove Background” button. The backdrop will instantly disappear, and you can comfortably start editing. You can also replace backgrounds.
The app has 3 plans. Starters can use the software at zero cost. Once you upgrade to Pro, you pay $10 monthly and $20 for the Team option. A common complaint in Snappa reviews is that you can only add up to 5 users in the Team plan, so keep that in mind.
