What Is SocialOomph?
SocialOomph started as a simple social media scheduling platform in 2008, being one of the first to use the Twitter API. The software offers easy social media and content management tools for most social channels and blogs on Shopify, Tumblr, and WordPress.
In our SocialOomph review, we’ll cover everything you should know before signing up for this platform.
SocialOomph comes with some handy tools to help you with your social media and blog publishing needs.
Individual and Team Publishing
SocialOomph supports individuals and teams with their social media management through different packages. If you are an individual and need to manage only one social media and blog account, you’ll get by with the SocialOomph free version.
If you have a larger team, you can use the team feature and tags. You can assign other privileges and configure posts for approval if required.
Social Media Channels and Blogs
While SocialOomph is mainly known as a Twitter automation tool, it supports other channels, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit, StockTwits, Pinterest, Mastodon, and Discord. On top of that, you’ll enjoy Shopify, Tumblr, and WordPress (both .com and .org) blog publishing support.
Social Posts Scheduling
Precise scheduling is what SocialOomph prides itself on: pick a date and time of your choice and start publishing. The SocialOomph app works wonders for your digital marketing strategy.
With fixed or variable schedules on top of seasonal windows, the platform makes it easy to post queues and ensure that your followers are always engaged.
The platform offers an easy way to track keywords on Twitter. The SocialOomph Twitter feature helps you find tweets that contain these keywords and sends you an email about their activity every 12 or 24 hours.
It’s similar to Google Alerts, but the feature targets social posts. The goal is to stay up to date with what other people in your industry are saying.
RSS Blog Support
RSS feeds make blog publishing a breeze with this platform. There is optional keyword filtering, which allows you to dig deeper and make your posts more powerful.
Whether you are running a promotion or want to share something that may become irrelevant in the future, SocialOomph offers self-destructing posts. These posts will be deleted after a certain period. This feature is one of the highlights of our SocialOomph review.
Overall Performance: User Interface and Ease of Use
While SocailOomph’s design is clean and functional, it didn’t make our jaws drop. We did find it strange that not all features are displayed on the interface.
When trying to connect our social media accounts, we struggled with Facebook and Twitter. Not many other SocialOomph reviews show the same issues, so it’s safe to say that it doesn’t happen all the time.
We were also disappointed by the lack of features.
SocialOomph is primarily a social media scheduling tool that can help you with your content calendar, but it doesn’t do much more.
But despite that, SocialOomph is solid and reliable. Scheduling posts was straightforward. This is why solopreneurs and SMEs use it for their digital marketing strategies.
Advantages of Using SocialOomph
One of the things we loved about SocialOomph is its easy way of running social media accounts. While the concept of having all accounts under one hood isn’t new, it is essential when working in a team.
Running everything from one account but also having the possibility to delegate your team is fantastic. You can give each member the appropriate permissions to make sure only the right people have access to manage and edit social media posts.
The queuing system works well. Approved in many SocialOomph reviews, it gives you a lot of options to create queues. It’s simple to make a series of content for social or blog channels, and the tool auto-post every couple of hours or custom intervals of your choice.
Lastly, we appreciate the connection that SocialOomph has with Mastodon, Reddit, and Stick Twits for social publishing, not to mention the blog management options and RSS blog feed support.
Disadvantages of Using SocialOomph
The lack of features makes many customers run to bigger names such as Hootsuite, Buffer, and SocialPilot. If you are a team and want to pay less than $60 per month for a social media tool, SocialOomph won’t give you as many features as you would get with any of those mentioned above.
Also, the lack of adequate support and integrations hurt the company. There is no live chat or email support – only a ticketing system. While SocialOomph has some power, it is not the best tool out there. Opting for a higher package does not translate to more value for money.
SocialOomph doesn’t offer training either, something more prominent platforms almost always include. The design has flaws, and there aren’t many marketing materials to help novice users understand this tool better.
Who Is the SocialOomph Social Media Platform For?
From what we saw when testing it, the SocialOomph app is only suitable for a selected audience. It has some good options and features but is primarily a scheduling tool. Also, there is no SocialOomph for Android and iOS, which can be inconvenient for many.
However, the platform is reliable and is best for solo entrepreneurs, small teams, and businesses starting small with their digital marketing strategies. Anybody looking for more advanced features should look elsewhere.
SocialOomph Customer Support
When testing the customer support for this SocialOomph review, we were quite disappointed at the lack of options.
SocialOomph only offers ticket-based support. They urge most users to visit the Self-Help Center and find the answers to their questions themselves. There is no live chat, phone, email, or social media support available.
Despite all of this, many user-written SocialOomph reviews show that the ticket agents are quick to respond to most technical queries (within 1-2 business days).
SocialOomph vs eClincher
eClincher has a clear interface that looks better than that of SocialOomph. Also, eClincher is a better choice for larger enterprises, especially since the Inbox feature is more extensive.
SocialOomph lacks contact management, analytics, customer targeting, multi-account management, and 24/7 support. eClincher offers all of these, making it the obvious winner.
SocialOomph vs Meltwater
Social sharing, social campaigns, and blog schedules are SocialOomph’s main selling points. Meltwater doesn’t come close in terms of these features.
On the other hand, Meltwater supports social ads and has better analytics. These advantages are why some users prefer it over the SocialOomph social media app.
SocialOomph vs Falcon.io
Falcon.io is the better option if you want more in-depth data analysis and explore Project and Campaign Management. It is also a clear choice for people who are not limited to social media and blog post scheduling only.
If you are a small business owner, you will find both of these tools adequate for your needs. However, if you want CRM, analytics, and project management features, we recommend checking out Hootsuite, Buffer, or SocialPilot.
SocialOomph comes with a few different subscription plans. The platform also has a free option with limited features to test the waters. The plans include:
- Personal Suite (Free): One social profile, basic scheduling features, access to personal area only, unlimited scheduled posts, maximum of three posts per hour, and free support.
- Advanced Suite ($15/month or $162/year): Access to personal and team areas, one social profile, one blog, one RSS feed, maximum of 60 posts per hour per profile/blog, one queue, and access to all posting features.
- Professional Suite ($25/month or $270/year): Everything in the Advanced Suite, ten social media profiles, five blogs, five RSS feeds, five queues, and one webhook.
- Business Suite ($55/month or $594/year): Everything in the Professional Suite, 20 social profiles, ten blogs, ten RSS feeds, ten queues, one webhook, post review and approval system, and the ability to assign an associate to many teams.
As part of the Professional and Business Suites, you can buy additional social profiles, blogs, RSS feeds, queues, web hooks, associates, and teams.
- Five additional social profiles: $10/month
- Five additional blogs: $10/month
- Five additional RSS feeds: $10/month
- One additional webhook: $5/month
- Additional associate: $35/month
- Additional team: $16/month
While there is a 30-day SocialOomph free trial, it’s only available for the Business Suite.
There is a 30-day refund period for all paid plans. Do keep in mind that while credit card payments are refunded 100%, those who paid with bitcoin only are eligible for a 50% refund.
All features and pricing considered, we think that the SocialOomph pricing is a bit steep, especially when compared to some of the best-rated tools in social media management. We also didn’t like the additional fees for adding teams or social profiles, and many other users show the same disappointment.
In the next part of our SocialOomph review, we will be comparing it with other, similar tools. As we mentioned before, it lacks many of the features that Hootsuite, Buffer, or SocialPilot offer. Instead, we will only compare it with similar apps in the field.
SocialOomph Review – Verdict
Our SocialOomph review shows that the tool is intuitive and reliable, but limited in features. If you only need help to schedule your posts, it might be the right option for you.
We like that individuals can use it for free when managing one social profile. But while small businesses will find it easy to work with, upgrading to more expensive packages doesn’t give you enough value for your money.
SocialOomph is a reliant platform, but if you’re looking for more than just a scheduler, you should opt for software like Hootsuite, Buffer, or SocialPilot.
SocialOomph allows you to schedule social media and blog posts across various social networks. You can publish unlimited posts, assign roles, and collaborate with teams.
While the interface is pretty simple and straightforward, it’s not the easiest to use. But there is a Self-Help Center with FAQ that can support you if you encounter any trouble.
Yes. Working with a team is something that SocialOomph promotes as one of its key features. Team collaboration is available in the Advanced, Professional, and Business Suite plans.
Yes, you can use the Personal Suite for free. You get access to one social profile, personal area, and basic scheduling features. The good thing is that you get unlimited scheduled posts but can only publish up to three posts per hour.
