I analyzed and compiled a list of the top CRM software in the UK just for you.

My goal was to help you pick a platform that suits your needs perfectly.

In this article, you'll find the following:

  • The methodology that helped me determine what options to include in the top 10 list
  • A thorough review of each tool
  • Best use case scenario for each platform
  • A helpful buyer's guide
  • Insightful benefits of using CRM software
  • Answers to your frequently asked questions

In my methodology

Of course, I had to ensure that I only picked the best CRM software in the UK.

So, I used a 4-step procedure to help me in my quest. Note that each step allowed me to narrow down my list:

  1. I had about 30 options, to begin with, so I evaluated each based on functionality, pricing, client support, ease of use, and free trial or lack thereof. This step enabled me to start my shortlisting.
  2. I signed up for user accounts. I wanted to see if the features worked as well as the companies had advertised.
  3. I then read user reviews of CRM software for small, medium and big businesses. Here, I learned of the experiences of other clients who had interacted with the solutions.
  4. And so, I was able to pick the final 10. I asked myself some vital questions that any buyer would, and here they are:
  • How user-friendly is the CRM software?
  • Will the solutions give me value for my cash?
  • Do the tools have all the features that I need?
  • How responsive is the customer service in case I get stuck in the course of setting up or using the tools?

Now it's time to have a look at the top picks.

2. Zendesk Explore

Easy to use

Knowledge Base creation

Wide range of integrations

Zendesk has over 150000 clients. It has grown since its inception and currently has 3000 staff members. When the company is not busy helping you solve tickets, it’s investing in communities, at the Zendesk Neighbor Foundation. It has iOS or Android mobile apps and also works well on Windows and Mac.

Zendesk Explore Price

Zendesk Lite is one of the best CRM software for iPad, iPhone or Android. It also works on Windows and Mac since it’s cloud-based.

The free version comes with analytics, data export filters, and daily historical reports. The company does offer paid plans with more features, and they’re as follows:

  • Professional – $9/agent/month
  • Enterprise – $29/agent/month

Trial version

Zendesk has a 14-day trial period for both its Lite and Professional packages.

Ease of Use

It can take a bit of time to get used to using the system. But that doesn’t mean that you need a standalone IT person to run it. Therefore, once you get the hang of it, then you’re good to go.

Features

Here are Zendesks features:

Analytics

Get comprehensive analytics using this solution. This feature helps you properly analyze customer interactions with your business. Therefore, it will help your team make better decisions regarding who to target.

Interactive dashboards

Each of your organization’s channels gets a dashboard to help you view critical customer metrics. From here, you can filter your data using criteria such as date or team.

Report customizations

Zendesk has a drag-and-drop editing function that allows you to customize your reports to fit your requirements. This CRM solution has over 20 charts to help you display data however you want.

Collaborations

You can freely collaborate with your team using this solution. It comes with a shared dashboard, for your teams to see how they’re performing.

Advanced features

Here is ZenDesk’s advanced feature:

Knowledgebase

You can create a knowledge base within the system. This feature will help your clients enrich themselves with information regarding your business.

Integrations and automation

This is yet another tool that allows automation for customer service, email or sales. You can integrate this best CRM software for iPad with plenty of solutions such as:

  • Gmail
  • Slack
  • TalkDesk
  • Jira

Customer support

Zendesk customer service is available during business hours, and here’s how you can reach them:

  • Contact form
  • Email

Zendesk’s customer service is wanting. I experimented with the messaging option, and it took a long time to get a response.

Although the system had promised to assign me a person to speak to, that never happened. I got a bunch of articles to refer to in my email. I didn’t get to talk to a real person, nor answers to my questions.

Techjury’s Verdict

Zendesk is a useful customer ticket resolution tool. Some of its features include customizable reports, drag and drop functionalities, knowledge base creation, analytics, collaborations and interactive dashboards.

The learning curve can take a bit of time. But once you learn how to navigate the system, it becomes easier.

The costs can go up with the ERU/GDPR compliance. However, this is still a dependable solution to help your business resolve tickets.

3. Salesforce

Robust features

Email marketing

Rich customization capabilities

Marc Benioff, Parker Harris, and Halsey Minor are the founders of  Salesforce CRM. In 2019, Gartner named it the leading global CRM for the 13th year in a row.

150000+ companies use this CRM software from Salesforce, amongst them, Adidas, Yeti, Kone, Align, and Herespot. It’s most suitable for IT, marketing, sales and service roles. Salesforce has Android and iOS apps and is also available on the web.

Salesforce Price

Here are Salesforce’s premium plans and their rates.

  • Sales Essential – $25/user/month
  • Professional – $75/user/month
  • Enterprise – $150/user/month
  • Unlimited – $300/user/month

Trial version

Salesforce has a 30-day trial period. You don’t need to provide payment details to enjoy it.

Ease of Use

Salesforce is easy to use. However, carrying out some tasks need three to four clicks hence takes time.

In other words, processes might take a little longer than usual, but you don’t need to be a techie to use the system.

Features

Here are Salesforce features:

Task and activity management

Track and manage your activities using this CRM software for the UK market. With this feature, you can distribute tasks, set deadlines, and focus on priorities to help your project run smoothly.

Opportunity management

Salesforce helps you close more leads. Here, you can manage opportunities through their entire lifecycle until conversion.

This feature gives you access to things like discussions, social mentions or activity histories. You’ll always know the next step to turn a lead into a buying customer.

Lead management

Acquire quality leads, using Salesforce. It tracks website or social media clicks and then creates killer campaigns, helping you harvest contacts that are likely to convert.

Advanced features

Here are Salesforce’s advanced features:

Quote and order management

Salesforce is one of the top CRM software in the UK because it helps you create quotes fast. It quickly scans your price-list and generates costs, regardless of the client’s business size or other requirements.

Account management

In a sales environment, not having everyone on the same page often leads to a loss of business.

Salesforce stores contact details, including all communication for easy access to all salespeople. This feature helps you appear unified in the eyes of your potential clients.

And this is how:

Imagine having three different people from the same company, asking what the best time to contact you is.

That can be downright annoying right?

Right from the time you sign up, Salesforce will store all your data in one centralized place. So the contact person, account manager and salespeople will have one reference.

Email marketing

Salesforce allows you to create segmented lists using Email Studio. It uses profile data to help you personalize the message you intend to pass, and the result is higher levels of engagement. From here, you can personalize your content and send bulk emails to all your contacts.

Integrations and automation

With this cloud-based CRM software, you can empower your team to work faster with automation. You can automate it to avail data like analytics or forecasts to your sales team on any gadget.

You can integrate it with other applications such as:

  • Jira
  • Zendesk
  • Freshdesk
  • Hiroku
  • Market Cloud

Customer support

This company’s client support is available during business hours. You can reach them through any of the following options

  • Chat
  • Making a call
  • Call request

Note that initiating a chat could take time. It needs to load before you can use it.

Once it connects, you can ask your questions or make complaints to the helpful staff.

Techjury’s Verdict

Salesforce is one of the most comprehensive CRM software out there. Some of its features include email marketing, reports, lead, contact, task, account, order and opportunity management.

Setting up the system takes time. However, it’s good to note that it’s a complex CRM; taking time is only logical.

Note that the software’s annual pricing costs are on the higher side. However, bearing in mind that it has all the features of a good CRM, the prices are justifiable. Also, the solution is best for large organizations as opposed to smaller ones on a budget.

4. Insightly CRM

Fully customizable

High industry adaptability

Easy progress tracking

Insightly has been in the market since 2012 and has over 1.5 million users. Some big companies that trust this software are Bloomberg, Bosch, and Sanofi. It has dedicated apps for iOS and Android. You can also use it on Windows and Mac machines.

Insightly’s Price

This CRM software is free for up to two users. But you’ll have to deal with limited records and features. Here are the rates for the premium plans:

  • Plus – $29/user/month
  • Professional – $49/user/month
  • Enterprise – $99/user/month

NB:

*Insightly only accepts payment in USD, and this I confirmed from support. Therefore, payment using pounds is equivalent to that day’s currency exchange.

*The company does annual billing.

Trial Version

Insightly CRM has a 14-day trial period for unlimited users, with all the premium features available.

Ease of Use

Insightly is incredibly easy to use. It’s intuitive, making working on your daily tasks a piece of cake. The solution neatly displays the different features on the left-hand side of the screen for easy reach whenever you need to use them.

Features

Here are Insightly’s features:

Lead routing

Insightly CRM helps you follow up on your leads throughout the sales process. Count on it to track the most relevant details about your potential clients, be it phone number, or marketing campaign source.

Email tracking

You can send emails to clients either using templates or writing from scratch right from your profile.

However, it’s always hard to tell whether your recipients have opened their emails.

This software makes things easier for you by monitoring your emails’ click and opening statistics, which is why it’s one of the best CRM systems.

Relationship linking

Insightly has a record linking functionality that helps you understand complex client relationships. It connects customer names, email addresses, or phone numbers. So you’ll need just a glance to see who knows each other.

Dashboards

You get different dashboards for things like projects, leads, or opportunities using this solution. It allows you to view various CRM aspects separately, instead of using one crowded portal.

Project management

Manage project-related processes and track milestones using Insightly CRM. It allows you to make timely deliveries, building trust with your clients.

Reports

Insightly has 9+ report types to help you track the goings-on in sales, marketing or customer service. Here are some examples:

  • Contact reports
  • Task reports
  • Opportunity reports
  • Lead reports
  • Organization reports
  • Project reports
Tasks

Viewing your to-do list has never been easier. The software shows the task name, the percentage of completeness, and the due date.

It doesn’t end there:

Insightly allows you to import tasks by uploading them as CSV files. One file can hold up to 50,000 records, and you can link each to an organization, contact or opportunity.

Integrations and Automation

This web-based CRM software allows you to create complex business processes and tasks. For instance, you can set the system to build or update records, or even send email alerts.

Some of the apps that you can integrate Insightly to include:

  • Dropbox
  • Gmail
  • Slack
  • Google Drive
  • Xero

Customer Support

Insightly’s support is available 8 am – 5 pm PST. You can contact the customer service department through either:

  • Email
  • Chatbot
  • Phone call

I reached out to customer service, and I got timely and satisfactory responses.

Techjury’s Verdict

Insightly is a reliable sales CRM software with lots of useful features like lead routing, email tracking, dashboards, relationship linking, tasks, reports, and project management.

The solution is highly customizable and will fit well in any industry. Tracking progress is easy, so you’ll always know how your project is fairing at all times.

However, you can’t create secondary email accounts. Then again, using one address makes it easier to keep track of all your communication.

Note that the software doesn’t automatically refresh notes in case of any edits. It also doesn’t have graphical views for reports.

Nevertheless, Insightly CRM gives you lots of value for your money with its robust features.

Zoho CRM is a dependable sales, marketing, customer service, and project management CRM software. Its features include reports and analytics, lead management, performance management, AI assistant, collaborations, omnichannel, and process management.

Note that sometimes, the company conducts software upgrades, but doesn’t update its documentation. The good news is that you can always reach out for support.

Another thing:

Customer support

This CRM platform’s customer service team is available 24 hours a day, five days a week on the following channels:

  • Chat
  • Phone
  • Email

My experience with his company’s customer support wasn’t so good.

I used the chat option to seek help regarding something that wasn’t clear on their pricing page. The contact person copy-pasted the same pricing page asking me to make referrals from there.

No explanation.

I told them that my question was arising from something that I encountered on the same page.

After a few minutes, the contact person said that they would refer me to one of the sales agents. I left my email address for them to get back to me.

Things looked up the following day when I got a response from yet another account manager. She answered my questions to satisfaction.

Still, the staff needs training.

Techjury’s Verdict

Freshsales is a UK CRM  that is very useful. Some of this solution’s features include lead management, event tracking, collaborations, reports, and analytics, visual sales pipelines, notifications and contact management.

Note that it has a threshold on the number of emails that each user can send to 500. Therefore, it can be limiting for companies that run big sales campaigns.

Freshsales customer service could do with a bit of improvement. I had two experiences with two different people from the company.

One delivered A+ service and was very patient in answering my questions. The other one was eager to get me off their back. I want to believe that the second experience was a one-off.

Bottom line, this platform has a lot to offer in terms of functionality.

7. Less Annoying CRM

Intuitive and easy to use

Reasonable pricing

Friendly customer service

Two brothers, Bracken and Tyler King, started Less Annoying CRM in 2009. The company started with just two employees and 47 clients. Currently, LACRM has 20,000+ customers. This software focuses on giving small businesses what they need.

The Kings have never received any investor funding, and have solely funded the organization date. It has no dedicated apps for mobile. However, it works well on smartphones, Mac, or Windows.

Less Annoying CRM Price

This solution has no free version.

The thing that I loved most is that it only has one pricing package. Having one pricing plan removes the confusion of having to choose between different options.

It costs $15/user/month for less than ten employees. For more users, you have to email the company for a quote.

Trial version

LACRM has a 30-day trial period that lets you use all its premium features. You can add an unlimited number of users with this free access.

Ease of Use

Less Annoying is a simple CRM software with an intuitive interface. The menu is on the left-hand side of the dashboard and contains items like calendar, contacts, workspace reports and settings.

Clicking on an item here leads you to a feature-specific sub-menus. I experimented with a few tools, and using them was a breeze.

Less Annoying is one of the best CRM software for small businesses because it gives you a workspace to display your daily agendas. It also shows you if your pending tasks are due.

The best thing about this feature is that it allows you to export or even print your documents.

Contacts

Less Annoying shows detailed information regarding contacts or company. You can import, print or export contact-related data.

What’s more?

You can sort and filter your data by first name or record type.

If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, you can create your filter criteria, and there are 20+ options.

Techjury’s Verdict

LACRM is one of the most reliable solutions. It’s got automated workflows, reports, calendars and workspace.

This solution may seem to have fewer features than most. However, this makes the learning curve easier.

It’s also reasonably priced, hence the ideal CRM system for small businesses in the UK

Techjury’s Verdict

Nimble gives you a platform to find opportunities to build customer relationships and achieve your goals as I discovered during CRM comparison. Some of its features include stage funnels, signals, to-dos, email tracking, contacts, pipeline charts, and events.

This software uses AI to fetch data. Note that it doesn’t show the primary number in case a client has more than one. However, you can open the entire contacts window to see it.

Beware that the annual renewals are costlier than the initial payments. However, it’s still affordable compared to other CRM software in the UK.

9. Hubspot CRM

Limitless customizations

Quick and easy setup

User friendly

Hubspot launched its free CRM in 2014. It’s 0$ to use for anyone, even if you haven’t subscribed to any of its other paid products.

This solution is suitable for business owners, salespeople, customer service teams, marketers and operation managers.  The CRM software free download full version is available on App Store and Google Play, respectively.

Hubspot Price

Hubspot CRM is free forever. It gives access to plenty of features, as we’ll discuss in this review.

The free CRM works just fine. But if you want to unlock more features in marketing, sales, and customer service, you might want to consider their paid plans.

They start from as low as $40/month/2 users to $3200/month.

Trial version

Since Hubspot is a completely free CRM softwareit doesn’t have a trial period.

Ease of Use

Hubspot is straightforward to use. You don’t have to be a tech expert to operate this system.

The free demo account was very helpful in giving me tips on how things work. I was able to set up deals, channel leads to salespeople, mine reports, and check out analytics and deals in under five minutes.

Features

Here are Hubspot CRM’s features:

Limitless customizations

With most CRM tools, you can only customize your account up to a certain level.

Not with HubSpot.

This platform allows you to make as many changes as possible to represent your brand.

Realtime sales pipeline

This solution allows you to see your entire sales pipeline at any time. It ensures that you’re always in touch with your team’s performance and other productivity-related issues. Therefore, you’ll always know the areas that need improvement.

However, note that the service is only free for seven days after signing up. Subscribing for the software’s marketing tools will open up this feature forever.

Stage funnels

This feature shows you what percentage of your deals have converted. It also shows you the stages of individual sales.

Unassigned contacts

It’s possible to neglect contacts if you have lots of new hot leads. Luckily, this feature will highlight unassigned contacts so that you can assign them to one of your team members to follow-up.

  • LinkedIn
  • Outlook
  • Google Calendar

Customer support

For a free solution, it goes the extra mile to help its clients. My experience with this company’s support team was A+. You can reach them during business hours using the following avenues:

  • Chat
  • Phone
  • Email

Techjury’s Verdict

Hubspot is one of the best free CRM software with no premium plans to use its robust features. It’s a dependable tool with features like contact tracking, email tracking, real-time pipeline visualization, limitless customization, and analytics.

It’s relatively new, and most people don’t have a lot of trust in it compared to older CRMs. However, the company continually invests in research and development to keep the software on par with its predecessors.

Another thing to note is that it’s a little inflexible for larger businesses. However, this will only affect you if you have complex sales processes.

Nevertheless, HubSpot CRM is still a kick-ass lightweight solution that can improve your sales reps’ efficiency. It also offers closed-loop reporting on marketing and sales initiatives.
