What Is an Autoresponder

Simply put, an autoresponder is a tool that allows you to set up an automatic email response to confirm subscriptions and unsubscriptions, and reply to direct emails and other online auctions, with a pre-written email (i.e. the response). They are used by individuals, web professionals, marketers, and online businesses to make correspondence with large amounts of people more efficient. Although regular email platforms like Gmail have autoresponder features, these are limited and aimed at individuals who need to send things like an ‘out of office message’ or vacation message. Autoresponders at Gmail or on pop3 email accounts do not have any extra features or related services.

One of the most common uses for email autoresponders is to send out welcome emails when somebody registers on a website. The website owner cannot realistically reply individually to every new user, so a general email is crafted and automatically sent out whenever anyone signs up. Other common autoresponder email examples include delivering a weekly pre-written newsletter or online course, sending out coupon codes and offers, and reminders to users who have signed-up but not yet engaged with your site or service.

More complex autoresponders respond when multiple actions/events have been met. For example, if somebody has browsed a certain category of online shop items, you could generate an auto email response recommending the best products in this category.

Autoresponder features tend to be part of larger email marketing services that also help you manage your subscriber list, create newsletters and email content, and make sense of the data for tweaking your marketing campaigns. Some tools also provide SMS, Twitter autorespond, and other social media features.

The Benefits of Using Autoresponders

If you are involved in email correspondence on any kind of mass scale, setting up email auto-responses can be a valuable strategy. Here are some of the main benefits of an email autoreply:

Save Time

The obvious key benefit of using an autoresponder is to be more efficient with your time. You can have an instant (or scheduled) response, that was carefully crafted, and can be sent to hundreds and thousands of people. Because of this, you might also be motivated to engage with customers/clients/users on a mass scale, when you wouldn’t have previously had the time or energy.

Save and Make Money

A good set of auto-responses can mirror the work of several marketers. You don’t need to hire people to keep in contact with your customers because your autoresponder can be set up to regularly email them for an endless range of reasons. Perhaps it’s their birthday, they clicked or bought a certain product, they subscribed to the newsletter, or they haven’t logged in for a month.

Never miss a response

If you had to rely on yourself to reply to every person individually, you are likely to miss some of them. Using an automated reply email, as long as your predefined trigger/action has been met, you will reply to every single person automatically without having to consciously think about it.

Immediate communication

In some scenarios replying to an email instantly is necessary to keep a user engaged or to complete a process. Autoresponders can handle this as well as scheduling responses for the future.

Gather Data

Good autoresponders measure things like how many people opened an email and the geographic location of your contacts. Over time you can gather a lot of useful data to further refine your campaigns and become more successful.

How To Choose the Best Autoresponder

The autoresponder that’s right for you will depend on your individual requirements. There are several things worth considering:

Volume

If you are a new business, professional or marketer, or otherwise don’t have many subscribers (if any) you can benefit from one of the good free autoresponder plans. However, if you already have a large list to import or are planning ahead, you should recognize that autoresponders are typically priced on either the number of subscribers you have or the number of emails you will be sending. Choose one that is affordable and scalable.

Integrations

How well does the autoresponder software integrate with third-party platforms, particularly the ones you are or will be using?

Segmentation

Once your list gets bigger you will want to target different subscribers for different reasons, especially if your business is complex and sells lots of different products or services. The more ways you can dig down into the data the better, allowing you to send emails that appeal precisely to the recipient.

Level of automation

All autoresponders can reply automatically but the complexity of that automation can vary. The best autoresponders provide advanced automation options based on their actions and the segments you have applied.

Extra Tools

Autoresponders can offer a range of marketing tools, such as SMS messaging, social media posting and integration, landing page templates and hosting, advanced eCommerce support, and more. As well as being good at auto-responding emails, you should evaluate what extra features can benefit your particular business.

Top Recommendations and Reviews

Best for: SMS autoresponder

1. Sendinblue

No subscriber limits

Affordable pricing

Easy to use

Sendinblue is a competitively priced autoresponder with tonnes of other features. It offers customer relationship management (CRM), landing pages, SMS text autoresponder, and Facebook ads. On top of that, it includes one of the best WordPress autoresponder plugin options. Other email types include newsletters and transactional emails.

If you’re serious about email marketing, you’ll know that you need an autoresponder to target customers.

If you want to use autoresponders free of charge Sendinblue’s free autoresponder plan allows you to send up to 300 emails per day and even benefit from 60 days of phone support. When the trial expires, you can make use of the $25-per-month plan, which allows up to 40,000 emails to be sent.

We found Sendinblue to be very versatile, allowing you to customize your campaign based on any number of user behaviors, such as clicks, opens, or when a user visits your designated webpage.

Sendinblue is also ideal for eCommerce businesses too –  you can trigger responses based on customer orders, visited products, incomplete orders, etc.

One key standout is its SMS autoresponder feature. It allows you to send bulk promotional and transactional messages to your contact list in much the same way you would send bulk email.

Overall, the toolset is very user-friendly. The email editor works on the drag and drop principle and is WYSIWYG for text. Things get a bit more complex if you want to send personalized emails, which Sendinblue describes as ‘attribute conditions’ but if you can manage What If statements in Excel, it shouldn’t be much trouble. Conditional content allows you to deliver different email contents depending on how you have segmented recipients – i.e. only new customers getting sent an exclusive discount code.

On the design front, there are enough templates and flexibility that you can always produce unique looking emails that appear striking and professional to the recipient. You can also use the landing page templates, which is a relief for those not fond of design.

Building your email list is also easy, thanks to the advanced registration and opt-in forms. Users can choose what to opt-in to and can use double opt-in to ensure everything is above board. What’s particularly impressive is the ability to pre-populate certain fields if the user is referred by email. To prevent spam there’s also Captcha verification.

One downside to look out for is that you cannot set up multiple logins for your team unless you pay for the more expensive Premium or Enterprise plans. They are $39 for 60,000 emails and $66 for 120,000 emails, which isn’t that expensive compared to other autoresponders.

2. AWeber

Trusted company

High delivery rate

Great sales tracking

A long-running leader in autoresponder email services, AWeber is still the number one choice for many marketers thanks to its variety of features. Even beginners can pick up the tool and begin building their lists without much stress – there’s a simple step-by-step guide. If you do run into any problems AWeber also has excellent customer support, with a live chat and telephone number to call.

It uses a traditional pricing model charging you based on the number of subscribers to your list rather than the number of emails you send out each month. You can try the free email autoresponder with up to 500 subscribers. The pro plan begins at $16.15 per month and tops out at $149 for up to 25,000 subscribers. You can also get the first month of any paid plan for free to test it.

As a veteran of the industry, AWeber has been able to maintain high deliverability rates, close to 98%. This means unless you really are spamming strangers, your emails will get through, and you can avoid email backscatter or being caught in a greylist. You can even check the likelihood of your email being marked as spam by running it through filters similar to what email providers themselves use.

AWeber integrates well with all major platforms so you’ll have no trouble adding it to your WordPress site, eCommerce business, or even Facebook page. You can use its built-in landing page templates to save time. There are numerous signup form templates and features, and it also supports advanced segmentation to avoid chaos.

AWeber also helps you analyze your success so you can plan better campaigns in the future. Under the reports tab, you can see who’s clicking and fully opening your emails, your subscriber growth, how people are subscribing, subscriber locations, and all sorts of performance metrics.

If you want to deliver newsletters, automate email follow up several replies deep, and do so in a targeted and personalized manner, AWeber is probably the best autoresponder for 2021 for you.

3. Omnisend

User friendly

Free plan

Free A/B testing

If you’re serious about putting your eCommerce business on autopilot, then Omnisend is the right choice.

Apart from offering full integration with popular e-commerce platforms, such as Shopify, BigCommerce, and WooCommerce, the platform integrates with a list list of apps, including email builders, analytics solutions, shipping solutions, and even Facebook Ads — all of which can help you create an email or SMS campaign that targets the right audiences.

One of Omnisend’s best features is its drag-and-drop email builder. With a long list of ready-made templates to choose from, you can easily create personalized email campaigns within minutes.

On top of that, you can save a lot of time and money with the tool’s automation workflows that come with pre-built subject lines, messages, and settings. You can also A/B split test your campaigns and use the smart segmentation feature to send customized emails to your audience based on shopping habits, demographics, location, and more.

A popular feature among eCommerce businesses is Omnisend’s Product Picker, which lets you add products from your online store to your email campaign. The biggest advantage to this feature is that it automatically includes everything from your page, including the image of the product, its description, price, and the link to the page.

For businesses that value numbers, Omnisend has a great reporting feature that can help you better understand what is and isn’t working, what contacts need more attention, and how to target them more effectively.

And if you want to switch to Omnisend, the software has all the tools you need to sync your entire data, without having to waste a day on it.

When it comes to pricing Omnisend is quite affordable. Its biggest perk is that it has a free plan, which, unlike other marketing automation tools, comes with some of its more advanced features. This plan lets you send up to 500 emails per month to up to 250 contacts, which is just enough for those who are just starting out.

Omnisend’s Standard plan starts at $16 per month, with up to 6,000 emails a month, and its Pro plan starts from $59 per month, where you get unlimited emails and up to nearly 4,000 SMS a month.

All in all, Omnisend is an excellent tool for eCommerce businesses that can up your business’ conversion game, increase sales, and help you figure out what works best for your audience— all on autopilot.

4. Moosend

Easy to use

Responsive customer support

Affordable pricing

Moosend is one of the top automatic responders on the market.

Why?

Because it’s easy to use, has all the basic features, and is very affordable. You can use it as a multiple mailing list manager, design unique newsletters with its in-built templates and editor, to help you craft your email automatic response. You can also make use of personalization tags to ensure you reach everyone in the right way.

The free autoresponder plan is available for up to 1,000 subscribers. If you need more, the entry plan is really affordable – just $8 per month for up to 5,000 subscribers. At the top end, you’ll be paying $150 for up to 50,000 subscribers.

To create your campaign use their simple drag and drop interface. It has over 40 different customizable templates. Before launching anything, you can run a number of tests to see how effective your design is and whether any of the content is likely to trip the spam filters of recipients, so you don’t get bounced mail.

Setting up your email automation is also straightforward thanks to their visual workflow builder. You can automate responses for everything from basic welcome emails to incomplete shopping order reminders. Simply choose from their long list of ‘recipes’ – the pre-set automations. Or, alternatively, create your own based on a number of different user engagements on your sites and platforms. Automation is a feature of both their free and paid plans, so you can fully test the tools before subscribing.

One area Moosend falters is with its sign-up forms. They are too basic and usually require your own code to integrate with your site or chosen platform. While veteran marketers won’t struggle, it could be a hassle for newcomers.

They do, however, do a good job of list management and segmentation. You can easily import lists from Google, Salesforce, or Excel, and organize them based on predefined or your own custom fields.

Overall, Moosend is a great choice for individuals and small businesses, who need a versatile email autoresponder without breaking the bank. It’s one of the best free autoresponders offers – there are no limitations.

5. GetResponse

Rich templates library

Great visual campaign builder

Detailed stats and reports

Starting at just $15 per month for their paid plan, Get Response is a competent email marketing and autoresponder suite that’s simple enough for beginners to get stuck in. It benefits from a wide selection of integrations and their structured workflow walks you through the process of setting up your automation for any email account.

The $15 plan supports up to 1,000 subscribers. At $450 a month, you can work with up to 100,000 subscribers. The Plus plan starts at $49 and the Pro Plan starts at $99.

This can be a bit confusing, but the Basic Plan doesn’t include the excellent automation builder, which lets you develop advanced sequences of responses based on user behavior. It also lacks conversion funnels, eCommerce support, and the ability to have more than one user account for your team members. The Plus and Pro plans also give you access to exclusive webinars to help up your email marketing game.

That’s not to say the Basic plan isn’t worth it. You’ll still get all the email marketing services, such as importing and managing your lists, segmentation, templates and customizable newsletters, auto-responses, landing pages, split testing, and landing pages. It covers the most basic needs.

GetResponse is one of the best automated responder choices for its price. Emails can be sent based on time triggers or user actions. Examples of a time sequence might be an immediate welcome message, followed by a one-week discount code, and then a three-week social media prompt. Action-based triggers include everything from opens and clicks to completed or incomplete transactions, to even the user’s birthday.

GetResponse is a powerful autoresponder and email marketing tool that’s easy to use and affordable, though it lacks some reporting depth and customer support isn’t the most responsive. It’s a solid choice for individual marketers and small businesses. It is user-friendly enough for relative newcomers to get things up and running whether they just need to process a welcome message or something more complex.

6. MailChimp

Thorough reporting

Generous free plan

Good templates and editor

If you’re looking for the best autoresponder service, the MailChimp autoresponder is one of the most well-known. You’ll get to manage 2,000 subscribers and send out 10,000 emails a month before having to spend any money. This easily puts it in contention for the best free autoresponder of 2022. It also accommodates low-volume marketers with a pay-as-you-go model. The paid MailChimp autoresponder and free service share most of the same features.

Regular pricing is simple to follow. It starts at $29.99 a month for up to 2,500 subscribers, $75.99 for up to 10,000, and $129 for up to 15,000 – great prices compared to some of the other options out there.

MailChimp autoresponders integrate well with everything and are commonly considered the best autoresponder for WordPress. MailChimp also supports advanced subscription forms and landing pages to build your list and has a user-friendly implementation of if/then/else logic to personalize your campaigns. There’s also good segmentation, allowing you to combine up to five positive or negative conditional relationships (i.e. a user from this location opened this email, has been subscribed for x months, bought this product, and likes our Facebook page). However, the advanced automations aren’t the best because there’s no workflow view and it’s generally more clunky than some of the competition.

One benefit of being around so long is that MailChimp has perfected deliverability, meaning your emails will almost certainly get through and you’ll never get the dreaded bounce message. If there is anything spammy about them you will be warned beforehand thanks to filter testing. You can also pay a bit extra for their ‘Inbox Preview’ feature which allows you to see what your email will look like on any MUA or mail client. There’s also an email forwarder feature that allows recipients to forward your message to a friend.

If you need a good autoresponder, MailChimp stands out with its in-depth reporting/analytics, great free plan, and an extensive library of clean and customizable templates. It is, however, slightly behind the times regarding advanced automations. If that doesn’t worry you, you’ll get one of the best autoresponders for small businesses and newcomers.

7. MailerLite

Perfect for beginners

Generous free plan

Lots of templates

Despite its name, MailerLite is not lacking in features. It comes with a comprehensive email autoresponder and marketing solution. It’s also very affordable, with a free plan for up to 1,000 subscribers – definitely worth considering if you’re looking for the best free autoresponder.

Paid plans start at $10 per month for 1,000 subscribers, $15 for 2,500, and $30 for 5,000. The user interface is well designed, making it accessible to beginners and veteran marketers alike. There are automation workflows, good segmentation options, and tonnes of integrations – particularly useful if you’re a blogger.

However, the advanced automations are a bit of a disappointment. While you can absolutely create automated workflows based on common actions like link clicking, joining a group, updating a contact field, etc., some of the more complex triggers are missing. For example, you cannot automate an email based on a user visiting a certain page of your own website.

Nonetheless, there’s much to like in MailerLite. One unique benefit is that it lets you embed a Facebook or Twitter post directly into emails. Sounds simple, but we don’t see it often enough.

Its landing page editor is also full of features and functions just like the newsletter software, shortening the learning curve. Landing pages can be hosted by Mailer Lite itself which is an interesting addition.

In terms of design, there are lots of email and newsletter templates to work with and they all have a clean and modern vibe, though they’re very limited in the free plan. Furthermore, the opt-in process is versatile, with several form types, such as embedded or pop-in, and nice-looking subscribe and unsubscribe buttons.

As far as reporting, the basics are there and there’s click-mapping and Google Analytics support. However, eCommerce is limited to WooCommerce and Shopify, and more advanced reporting is not available.

In conclusion, MailerLite is a great option for those looking for a free solution. It has a generous free plan that includes automations, it’s very user-friendly, and their landing page editor is one of the best. However, if you have a particularly large list or want advanced reporting or complex automations, other autoresponders we’ve reviewed do it better.

MailerLite is arguably the best autoresponder in terms of value for money.

8. SendPulse

Built-in SMS feature

Good preview system

Very intuitive

SendPulse is an excellent email marketing automation solution catering to individual bloggers and small to medium businesses. It makes things a step further than the average autoresponder – you get SMS text messaging, web push notifications, and Facebook chatbots. That way you can reach your recipients even if the email is not their preferred mode of communication. Everything is easily created with a drag-and-drop editor that instantly optimizes things for mobile users, allowing you to craft the best autoresponder messages. You can also target campaigns with precision thanks to advanced automations and triggers

Setting up trigger emails based on a user’s actions is very easy with their ‘automations 360’ tool. It visually shows the workflow and allows for easy and complex scenarios just by dragging and dropping. Set an end goal and decide to stop the series of emails if it’s reached.

As well as newsletters and emails, you can easily customize templates for landing pages, subscription forms, and social posts.

A great free email autoresponder, SendPulse is one of the few free email marketing providers that limit the number of emails rather than subscribers. Great news, if you’re a low-volume marketer. You get 12,000 emails before having to purchase their affordable entry-plan of just $9.85 for 25,000. They have all sorts of plans depending on your requirements and volume, as well as pay-as-you-go. The SMS autoresponder isn’t free and is only unlocked with the paid plans.

SendPulse is also very compatible, integrating with over 40 apps and services providers, including Shopify, Amazon, HubSpot, WooCommerce, Salesforce, and Zapier. It’s also one of the best WordPress autoresponders.

In terms of reporting, there are lots of graphs and statistics to be displayed, allowing you to track click-throughs, email opens, bounce rate, geographical data, devices, deliverability percentage, and much more.

Overall, SendPulse is a feature-rich service that does much more than just auto-responding for a surprisingly good price. We rate it as one of the best SMS autoresponders on our list.

9. Benchmark

Good for split testing

Detailed reporting

Easy to use

There’s no doubt that Benchmark is an impressive email marketing tool. You can quickly design great looking email campaigns and newsletters, set up complex automations, and effectively tweak your strategy based on detailed reports. However, it has been known to have poor delivery rates compared to other autoresponders, which is the most important factor of any such tools. If you can’t reach your customers, it doesn’t matter how good the emails look or how complex the automated emailing series is.

That being said, it’s not a lost cause. There’s enough to still make it worth your time and you can test your likely success before hitting send to avert some of these problems. Let’s take a closer look at the things it does well.

Pricewise, Benchmark is affordable, offering a generous free plan that supports up to 3,500 subscribers, though you can only send 250 emails a month. The premium plans start at $13.99 and top out at $43.99. This makes it good for those with smaller lists but not that attractive if you have many more subscribers – then you will have to pay based on email volume.

Benchmark stands out with a simple and user-friendly interface that manages to hide a lot of complex features. The ‘Automation Pro’ workflow-based automation setup allows you to create complex scenarios quickly. There are pre-set templates for common situations like incomplete orders, follow-ups, Facebook ad retargeting, and many others.

Despite its ease of use, Benchmark also has a good support team. You can reach them 24-hours a day via live chat. There’s also phone support in the US, UK, and Switzerland.

Ultimately, the Benchmark email service is a solid and versatile solution that will appeal to many people who need to automatically answer emails. But, with reported delivery rates as low as 50% it’s not the best email autoresponder out there.

10. ConvertKit

Good landing page support

Effective tagging function

Responsive support

Crowned the best email autoresponder service for bloggers, ConvertKit is also versatile enough to suit most experienced email marketers. It helps you build landing pages and tweak your content to generate leads while handling your automated email responses and other marketing needs. It does all of this at a reasonable price. You can even use it for free for up to 1,000 subscribers, though automated funnels, email sequences, and most integrations are excluded from the free plan.

For $29 a month you unlock full functionality for 1,000 subscribers. ConvertKit supports huge scaling up to 900,000 subscribers for under $4,000. What’s more, you can test any plan for 14 days with no obligation.

ConvertKit takes a minimalist approach to templates, working from the philosophy that a basic looking email is more personal and comes across as more genuine. In that sense, it might suit individuals and bloggers, but larger businesses might prefer bold and professional-looking designs to create the best autoresponder emails. To accomplish that you will need design and coding experience because ConvertKit’s editor itself is limited.

Nonetheless, performance-wise, ConvertKit is excellent for list management, form creation, landing pages, and auto-responding. The latter uses a step-by-step process, where you choose the conditions, action, or event (i.e. completing a form, buying a product, clicking a link), and map out the entire sequence.

Segmentation is also simple, and you can include as many conditions as necessary, such as geographic location, the device used, date of subscription, and purchasing behavior, etc., so you can filter your recipients accordingly.

Where ConvertKit stands out is its analytics, which tracks important metrics around subscribers, open rate, click rate, landing page, and sign-up form performance, etc. You can really dig in and learn exactly what’s working and what isn’t.

Overall, ConvertKit is a solid option with some great features. It feels more suitable for experienced marketers than beginners.

Best for: Best subscriber list management for autoresponder

11. Constant Contact

Perfect for beginners

Feature-rich

Good list management

There’s a lot to like about Constant Contact. It stands out with its intuitive and user-friendly interface, eCommerce integration, and social media campaign support. On the downside, it can also be pricey in certain scenarios and its templates aren’t quite as versatile as others we’ve reviewed.

It’s one of the best, however, for your automated email response needs. All you have to do is select the trigger and you can create a complex series or campaign. Choose when to follow-up, the actions required, tailor it to specific segments, and track its success.

There are two main kinds of paid plans:

  • Email, which supports 500 subscribers at $20 per month, up to 50,000 subscribers at $335 per month.
  • Email Plus, which starts at $45 for 500 subscribers and eventually levels off at the same $335 for 50,000.

The main difference is that the more expensive plan includes advanced autoresponder features, event marketing, and registration, online donations, online survey creation, and A/B testing.

If you want to test any of the premium plans without committing, they offer a generous 60-day money-back guarantee.

Constant Contact is excellent at list management, allowing you to import from Gmail and Microsoft Outlook, as well as via CSV, TXT, XLS, or XLSX. You can then assign tags to contacts to closely track their behavior, and you can create segments based on location, interest, and any other data you’ve been able to obtain.

For your campaigns, there are tonnes of templates to use as your starting point, which can then be easily customized to your unique requirements. The editor uses a familiar drag and drop process, which is easy and effective. The branded template builder is particularly beneficial if you need to create a quick email with all of your company’s assets and social links professionally displayed. The in-built image library can support up to 2GB of files, with no one file exceeding 5MB.

Constant Contact integrates well with a variety of platforms, including Shopify and Eventbrite. The latter even lets you include RSVP functionality for events.

Reporting is extensive, so much so that you’ll find an in-built video tutorial walking you through what all of the stats mean. You’ll find all of the basics, such as opens, click-throughs, bounce rate, and subscriber changes. It also supports advanced A/B testing so you know exactly what campaigns, subject lines, and other aspects of your campaigns are performing the best.

Overall, Constant Contact is a great choice for small businesses that need automatic email responses and additional marketing tools.

FAQ.

Is Get Response good?

Get Response is a good all-round autoresponder and email marketing tool. It’s user-friendly enough for beginners, with enough features to benefit experienced marketers. It also integrates well with a variety of platforms. There are a lot of different plans to look at closely, but pricing is competitive. An aggregate of thousands of online user reviews puts it at 4 out of 5 stars.

Is MailChimp an autoresponder?

Yes, MailChimp is commonly described as an autoresponder and has all of the features necessary to set up your email automated reply. However, it has many other email marketing features and is not just an autoresponder.  You can manage your list, segment subscribers for targeted campaigns, use templates for emails and newsletters, and track your success with reports and statistics.

What is the best free autoresponder?

Most popular autoresponder and email marketing tools now have free autoresponders, but they often differ in the free services they provide. Overall, the best in terms of the number of subscribers, emails, and features is Moosend. You can send unlimited emails per day totally free for up to 1,000 subscribers. MailChimp caps emails at 10,000 but allows 2,000 subscribers, which also puts it in the running for best free email autoresponder.

MailerLite supports up to 1,000 subscribers for free, but you get 12,000 emails. SendPulse is also good, limiting you to 500 subscribers but allowing 15,000 emails a month for free.

If you’re looking for the best self-hosted autoresponder for free, we recommend Mumara, though we prefer third-party tools because of their convenience.

What is better than Mailchimp?

MailChimp is a good autoresponder and marketing tool with many years in the industry, though it has fallen behind in some areas in recent years. Moosend has a better free plan, while SendPulse is overall better value for money. Constant Contact and GetResponse are arguably easier to use and have a more modern interface. And, if you want native SMS support, Sendinblue does it better than MailChimp’s reliance on its partner SimpleTexting.

What is ActiveCampaign good for?

ActiveCampaign is an autoresponder and broader email marketing software that excels in a number of areas. It has well-structured automations, a modern and intuitive interface, and tonnes of features. However, at the same time, its tracking and reporting can be confusing, its premium plans can get quite pricey, and it lacks transactional email functionality.

What is the best autoresponder software for email marketing?

The overall best autoresponder will depend on your requirements. Constant Contact is a good all-rounder with consistently high user reviews, though it is let down by its lack of a ‘free forever’ plan. SendPulse offers similar performance, along with native SMS support, at a more affordable price and with a good free plan. Moosend provides the best free autoresponder.
