What Is OptimizePress?

James Dyson founded this marketing plugin in 2010. Since then, there have been three versions released:

  • OptimizePress 1.0
  • OptimizePress 2.0
  • OptimizePress 3.0

OptimizePress is a WordPress tool designed explicitly for building landing pages. You can, though, also use it for creating regular blog posts.

With it, you can design interactive pages to promote exclusive sales and other offers on your website.

Also, you can optimize conversion rate leads by offering potential customers access to blocked content. In exchange, they’ll have to provide their email address, which you can use in your marketing efforts.

With the intuitive OptimizePress design, it’s easy to create a landing page that helps you capture user data. From there, you can usher them seamlessly into your sales funnel, monitoring progress from the awareness to the action stage. As a result, you can generate better leads and maintain excellent relationships with your best customers.

If operating a membership site, the OptimizePress builder is an all-in-one solution. With it, you can include opt-in and add links for community members. And if your marketing strategy involves providing drip-feed content, this tool is just for you. This way, you can add it to the various membership tiers as exclusive content.

OptimizePress is more than just a landing page builder. It also makes payments easy. Once you have successfully converted a lead to a paying customer, you can add payment channels - making the best of this OptimizePress suite solution.

In addition, there are several easy-to-use templates and categories to choose from. As with most WordPress plugins, you don’t need any knowledge of complex code to use this tool.

As a plus, it supports mobile devices like tablets and smartphones.

OptimizePress is a powerful tool that can transform your WordPress site into a fully equipped online marketplace.

Let’s explore how this can happen.

Features

In addition to beginner-friendly OptimizePress templates, you can expect:

OptimizeBuilder

This is the core page-builder and framework in which you design each page. Its drag-and-drop editor has a practical live preview to see how customers see each page.

For previous versions, some OptimizePress reviews stated dissatisfaction with this function. However, the newer edition is more functional and intuitive.

For one, online editing is fast. Also, the elements available are specifically for lead conversion. They include opt-in forms and countdown timers.

The OptimizeBuilder works on any WordPress theme. And you can create and alter posts and page content within its framework.

Also, the builder comes in flexible layouts. With it, you can customize them to your preferred column widths.

Inline Editing

The OptimizePress WordPress plugin also has inline editing capabilities. You can edit directly from the front end, providing greater audience participation capabilities.

Seeing how more than 70% of website traffic goes through mobile devices, this feature is handy. You can build more interactive pages and convert mobile visitors to customers and subscribers.

Hover Effects

As you build your sales pages, you want them to be as interactive as possible. When elements and buttons are littered all over the page, it can get clunky. When this happens, you lose potential clients.

Hover effects are a great way to optimize your user experience and increase conversion chances. You can easily apply this feature to text, buttons, and other elements - keeping your visitors well engaged and your pages uncluttered.

Fonts

As one of several OptimizePress integrations, you have access to more than 500 scripts from Google Fonts - giving you an extra dimension and control over the page interface.

Two-step Opt-in forms

When setting up an opt-in form on your sales page, you need to decide on an appropriate strategy. A one-step opt-in form displays the submit button and a corresponding email address. This simple setup is excellent for small businesses. But it is also highly visible and can be a distraction if visitors are only interested in reading a post.

Also, visitors may ignore it or get annoyed and leave the page if they see such solicitations popping up frequently. This is usually the case for visitors who don’t want to provide their email addresses.

This is where two-step opt-in forms come in.

From the OptimizePress dashboard, you can create this type of form. The first page announces the sales campaign or product ad. It also includes a link or button taking interested individuals to a second page. This new page contains the form to collect personal details like email addresses.

Because the form only appears when your visitors click on the call-to-action button, your website visitors don’t feel like you’re forcing sales upon them.

As a result, this useful feature captures more frequent and better leads

Templates

Building a page on your WordPress site can be tricky, especially when you want something specific, like a sales page. With the new OptimizePress 3.0, you can quickly build the page you prefer with several available templates.

With more than 250 templates optimized for lead conversion, it’s hard not to find the right one for you. All are highly customizable and load very quickly too.

Some of the template categories include:

  • Sales pages
  • Landing pages
  • Thank you pages
  • Webinar pages
  • Membership pages
  • Launch pages

SmartTheme v3

One OptimizePress essential feature is the Smart Theme v3. Although the plugin works perfectly well on any WordPress theme, this one comes highly recommended. This is because the Smart Theme v3 has an optimized sales layout.

You can take better advantage of OptimizePress’ elements and marketing tools when in use.

For instance, it has thirteen submenus, including style and footer. You can also create sticky headers and social media share buttons.

And while close, nothing is perfect, and that includes this theme. For example, if you want to alter the footer credits, you need to change the code. In addition, you cannot adjust page width manually.

On-Page Optimization

OptimizePress blog templates are highly customizable to help you effectively manage your content. This is important as you want your web page visible to search engines, especially Google.

When the sales content is not well optimized, web crawlers will be unable to index the pages properly. This means low web rankings and poor visibility for your products, services, or lead generation campaign. In other words, you lose sales.

The OptimizePress page builder helps rectify this by giving you header tag options and customizable elements like title and tag name.

Such details can culminate in higher SEO rankings, positively impacting your marketing efforts.

However, you should note that OptimizePress alone is not enough for SEO. For that, you’ll need a dedicated solution like Yoast.

Integrations

Any good digital marketing tool should have adequate integrations, and the OptimizePress for WordPress plugin is no exception.

It synchronizes perfectly with the following platforms:

  • Emma
  • GetResponse
  • Infusionsoft
  • Mailchimp
  • Sendlane
  • Ontraport
  • FluentCRM

OptimizeFunnels

This is a relatively new feature available for OptimizePress Suite and Agency Standard subscribers. Used in tandem with the main plugin, it offers several attributes for building sales funnels.

With its clean interface, you can keep your funnel pages orderly, allowing easy editing.

In addition, there are several niche options available with associated images and color schemes.

Some other features recently announced include optimized checkout and statistics. You can analyze your funnel performance directly from your dashboard with the latter. While the former will enable payments and digital downloads.

OptimizeUrgency

This plugin allows you to insert notifications into your pages and blog posts. This will help keep customers and visitors updated on the activity generated by other subscribers.

In other words, you get real-time sales alerts on your sites. The notifications can also come from additional third-party integrations like WooCommerce.

Ease of Use

The OptimizePress builder tool is relatively easy to use.

The layout of the control panel is orderly. The dashboard interface is simple, and command options are understandable. If you aren’t new to WordPress, you’ll find OptimizePress templates easy to use. If not, you’ll need some orientation.

The live editor feature and the OptimizePress slider menu make the process more intuitive.

While there’s a bit of complexity when installing the solution to your WordPress platform, it gets easier as you progress. After purchasing a subscription plan, you’ll need to upload the downloaded plugin tool onto WordPress. For newbies to CMS, this can be daunting, as it would be much easier to simply install it from your WordPress dashboard.

OptimizePress Pros and Cons

In this OptimizePress review, I look at some of this tool’s aspects that can make or break your day.

Customizable Templates - Pro

With this feature, anyone with zero coding experience can create a sales page with OptimizePress. It also speeds up the time it takes to create landing pages.

GDPR Compliance - Pro

When you create an OptimizePress contact form, you know that there are GDPR compliance provisions. As such, you can use contact details with your email marketing platform after receiving customers' consent.

Membership - Pro

The tool allows you to set up an enrollment system. This is very helpful for drip-feed marketing by restricting content access to exclusive members only.

Integrations - Pro

It has numerous helpful integrations. One that stands out is the OptimizePress Mailchimp integration that enhances sales and leads generation. It does this through email marketing campaigns that make the best of your leads.

Outdated UI - Con

Comparatively, the software’s layout can seem outdated. While new versions provide greater functionality, improvements to its user interface will be refreshing.

Poor Support-  Con

Having examined several reviews, the overwhelming consensus is that customer service could be more responsive.

OptimizePress Customer Support

The OptimizePress help channels are not very impressive. When you visit the official website, the first thing you notice is the lack of chat support.

And although they have social media channels on LinkedIn and Twitter, don’t expect responsiveness.

The most effective way to contact a service representative is through email. Nevertheless, the website has comprehensive documentation for each of the software’s three versions.

Many competitors offer more customer support capabilities, so this is a significant letdown.

OptimizePress Vs. Leadpages

Leadpages is a service that allows you to build landing pages using an intuitive drag-and-drop attribute. You can create pages from scratch or use any of the conversion-oriented templates.

It’s also relatively easy to use, as you don’t need any coding knowledge. In addition, the design is responsive and compatible with mobile browsing. Although OptimizePress is also easy to use, it's slightly inferior to its competition in this regard.

Leadpages is a standalone service instead of being exclusively tied to WordPress.

OptimizePress offers just over thirty free templates, while its competition boasts more than one hundred free templates. Additionally, Leadpages offers numerous additional templates for a fee.

OpimizePress pricing is more economical than that of its competition.

But, website owners who operate different platforms will find Leadpages more appealing. Whether you use Joomla or some other system, there is support. OptimizePress, on the contrary, is limited to WordPress.

As such, if using this popular CMS, OptimizePress is in your favor with its excellent sales funnel features and site membership capabilities. Building a sales funnel with Leadpages is not bad, but it’s certainly not as straightforward.

OptimizePress vs. Thrive Themes

Thrive Themes is one of the more popular names amongst other WordPress plugins.

It has its own flexible drag-and-drop builder, making it easy to use.

Also, there are many conversion-focused elements like sign-up forms and newsletters. With these, you can translate your marketing efforts into actual sales.

Like OptimizePress, its sales funnel tool comes with advanced features.

Packing many features to go along with a fair price, Thrive is excellent for SMEs, bloggers, business consultants, and digital marketing companies.

OptimizePress support is notoriously poor, while its competition offers much in this department.

Also concerning, users have noted bugs and other issues after uninstalling OptimizePress plugins, while no reports of such problems with Thrive Themes.

And while OptimizePress only gives premium users access to one WordPress theme, Thrive offers ten. Additionally, it comes with ten powerful native plugins like Thrive Leads and Thrive Architect.

With both, you can build fast websites quite well.

However, Thrive strides ahead when considering which of the two website builders have better design and layout capabilities.

OptimizePress vs. Divi (Elegant Themes)

Divi is a landing page builder developed by Elegant Themes.

Like OptimizePress, it boasts a comprehensive documentation section. On there, you can access tips and helpful articles on all of the software’s attributes.

In addition, both platforms have extensive email marketing integration with the likes of Mailchimp and ActiveCampaign.

OptimizePress gets the nod over its competition when it comes to enrollment capabilities. Additionally, there’s a special plugin to optimize your drip marketing campaigns. On Divi, such actions are not as easy.

When it comes to setting up websites, OptimizePress 3.0 lags in performance. Divi allows you to create entire websites using different landing pages. You just have to choose a website pack from one of the nearly 200 available.

Once again, OptimizePress customer support is a huge letdown compared to its competition. The latter even has an active Facebook forum and a huge community following on Meetup.com. There’s also live chat support, something that OptimizePress lacks.

Overall, both platforms offer much the same regarding customizability and marketing optimization. However, OptimizePress doesn’t have that same level of professionalism its competition exhibits.

OptimizePress Pricing

Compared to many of its competitors, OptimizePress is a slightly cheaper option. Although there’s no free version, you can check out its demo to experience its features.

There are three different subscription plans to choose from:

Essential

$99/year

This plan offers a license to just one site. It comes with the flagship OptimizeBuilder and several integrations.

Suite

$199/year

This license extends to up to 20 websites. It has all the Essential features, plus OptimizeFunnels and OptimizeLeads.

Agency Standard

$399/year

This tier offers all of the premium features. You can use it on up to 20 websites.

As a refund policy, it offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Verdict

If you’re new to WordPress and page builders in general, then you’ll find OptimizePress very useful. There are regular webinars and trainings to equip users with the requisite knowledge.

Also, the software stands out for its high level of customizability. However, many of its advanced features are not as robust as others offer.

It’s cheaper than many competitors but still gets the job done. Many OptimizePress reviews express mixed opinions, nevertheless, the recent updates indicate exciting features to come.
